Good service and food. Though I'd say the mains are weaker than the starters and sushi. Happily go back but won't bother with the main next time

We enjoyed the food. We had one great waitress who was smiley and helpful and seemed to enjoy working there and the other waitress was surly and rolled her eyes at us repeatedly. At one point she sighed audibly as well as the eye roll when we were asking for a wine and told us to look at the menu. She gave off very negative vibes and spoiled our experience somewhat.

Excellent food book in advance, this place is well worth it.

Godamn I love sushi. I've now been so spoilt by too many good sushi servings I can't face the packets from supermarkets any more, but Yorokobi stands out from the crowd even to my spoilt ass sushi pallet. The sushi was amazing and I could have eaten it all day, staff were lovely and the vibe was mellow. Get in on it.

Came to Yorokobi by CJ for a dinner because it was highly recommended on social media plus it was recommended on Michelin Guide. The head chef Chej Jang seems Korean, so we ordered common Korean dishes including pork belly and kimchi jigae mains. Unfortunately the price does not reflect the quality of the meal. I could make a kimchi jigae out from a meal pack from Asian supermarket. Pork belly was a disappointment because you need to pay extra for a full Ssam experience. The standard pork belly does not even come with Ssamjang sauce! As a person who have eaten a lot of Korean foods out of Korea, the Korean dishes are a let down.

Brilliant Japanese/Korean cuisine. Lovely "feel" to the place - kinda family-ish. Superb range of sushi/maki and special rolls - the Crunch roll is really good. Decent hot sake as well. Highly recommended.

Been a few times and the food has been delicious every time

We used to love this place but the last couple of times we’ve been it’s just not been nearly as good. On our last visit we were there three hours and only ordered sushi rolls. The service was so slow and the sushi was kind of tasteless (and at £20 a roll you’d expect it to taste of something). We ordered tap water and during the three hours we were there, no one asked if we’d like another drink. We asked for the bill and after 30 minutes it still hadn’t come so we ended up getting up to pay at the counter. Such a shame as this used to be one of our favourite spots in the city.

Poor customer service. Overpriced food for people who don’t really know Asian cuisine. Unfortunately since Aberdeen has a poor selection people can’t really compare.

I dine here every so often and always enjoy coming. Everyone is welcoming and attentive, ensuring I’ve got everything I need. The food is super yummy, I recommend the pumpkin goroke! Last time I was there, I had this lovely cream and sponge cake for desert aswell which was homemade and tasted lighter than air! Perfect place for date night or with friends and family. Unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. First, the service was painfully slow. We waited nearly 30 minutes just to place our order, and even longer for the food to arrive. When it finally did, the sushi was subpar at best. The fish did not taste fresh, and the rice was either overcooked or hard in several pieces. The menu prices do not match the quality of the food. For what we paid, I expected something much better. To make matters worse, the presentation was sloppy, and some of the rolls fell apart as soon as they were picked up. Overall, the experience was underwhelming. I won’t be returning and can’t recommend it to anyone looking for quality sushi.

A friend and I come here last night for a meal. We ordered quite a few different dishes to share and everything was amazing! The sushi in particular was brilliant. I will definitely be returning with my wife in the near future.

The restaurant is staffed by Koreans, but the Japanese and Korean food is very delicious, so I gave it 5 stars. The staff's response is also good.

The sushi was absolutely phenomenal, freshly made and great presentation. Hand delivered by the chef himself. Good wine selection and lovely sake. By far the best sushi I've had in the UK.

Food was authentic and amazing easily some of the best I’ve tried in Scotland and service from Rachel was really good. Nice atmosphere also.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is really good, the portion sizes are large and well priced. We were in a large group and booked in advance. The staff were attentive and offered recommendations when asked and insured we all got our orders and that we all had our drinks. The restaurant is small and creates a cosy atmosphere.

Sushi was so fresh, service was amazing and the Korean food was beautifully cooked. Coming from London where there are a lot of options for Korean foods so I had high standards but this beat the expectations by a mile. Definitely recommend

Best place ever!! The food was great and the staffs were friendly, the atmosphere was perfect for me! I been there with my family to try some Asian food and bibe, we were all satisfied by their services also the chef CJ occasionally checked the table asking about food and any needs with explanation of the food's origin and how to enjoy them! A really lovely place. The food was delicious and service was very good: attentive and quick without being overbearing. The servers were knowledgeable and friendly. We were allowed plenty of time to enjoy our meal without being rushed. There is a huge choice on the menu and the server helped with recommendations about sides, etc. Definitely worth returning to.

It was quite tasty. The wakame salad portion was a bit small but the rest of the things were reasonably portioned . The flavour was good and the price within reason.

Amazing food, lovely staff & super cute restaurant

Our experience at this restaurant was amazing. The food was tasty and fresh. Our daughter is very allergic to fish and they made sure there was no mixing of foods and oils. Sae served us and attended to us and he was an absolute gem. The foods we were not sure of he knew what was in them and advised us. My daughter who is 5 years old said the Korean boneless chicken was spicy goodness🥰 this place caters for everyone. We definitely will be back😊

My girlfriend and I came to Yorokobi for my birthday dinner and after rushing home to write this review, I cannot possibly sing higher praise to the Kitchen and Staff! All of the young lads and ladies who waited on us were super polite, friendly and extremely efficient. Our food arrived within minutes despite a busy service and every bite was exceptional, the Karaage was notably delicious as an appetiser and the portion was large enough to satisfy us both. The sushi was heavenly, both on the palette and to look at, I had to further order a ‘Legend Roll’, to take home as I knew I would regret not doing so later on. Bibimbap - best I’ve had in the western hemisphere hands down! If you’re looking for an unpretentious and totally memorable experience, book in and pay Yorokobi a visit, you will not be disappointed!

Cosy place, and pretty busy. The food was good except for one glass noodle dish that was a little oversalted. They replaced it with no issues though. Excellent service by well trained wait staff. Wide range of vegetarian as well as gluten free options with a whole gluten free menu available!

1st time in many years since my coeliac diagnosis. Great gluten free menu and chef Jan's son was an amazing host. We will be back x

A bit overpriced, but still tasty. We were a bit cautious coming here on a visit, seeing it used to have a Michelin star (as plastered across the windows) but no longer has it. However the starters were excellent and convinced us to stay for a main course. Unfortunately this fell a little short for me, but no doubt it was still good quality. To start we had the soft shell crab and yakitori. Yakitori were pretty standard, on a par with just about every other place we've had it, but they're so good as it is. The crab on the other hand was excellent, delicate flavour and cooked to perfection. For mains we had the korean sizzling barbecue which came with far too few (3) leaves of lettuce wrap up all the meat. It came with rice as well though, so probably this was by design However rice was served with flat plates which was a bit awkward. I found the meat itself lacking a bit of flavour, it wasn't marinated and the accompanying sauce portion was a bit small. We also had the special 10-piece sushi selection which was somewhat hit and miss. The eel, octopus and suf clam were excellent, while the scallop was a bit gritty and didn't have any smoky flavour you'd expect given the torched presentation. Overall it was undoubtedly a good meal, but I can see why the michelin star rating is conspicuously missing after 2019. The price was also I felt too high, our bill came in at £77, which if it had been more like £50 I would have been perfectly happy.

Absolutely outstanding meal. Everything cooked to perfection. Great service throughout. Only issue was the constant flow of delivery drivers coming in, sitting down and watching videos with the volume up on their phones, which took away the ambiance of the restaurant.

I have been going to Yorokobi for years. The food quality stands head and shoulders above its competition, the service is always super friendly and top class. Another local independent gem that we are lucky to have in Aberdeen.

The food here was excellent. Beautiful mixed sashimi and mains. Service was great (especially the young guy serving). I only marked this place down due to the decor and ambiance. Needs a facelift and something done with the lighting (really bright). The toilets need some serious refurb.

Poorly run restaurant, there are better Japanese/ Korean restaurants in Aberdeen. Don't waste your time.

Went as a group of 5 and enjoyed a really lovely dinner with excellent service. We had a variety of items off the menu and all of them were delicious.

First of all the Food is fantastic, let's just get that in...was very well presented and was very good, top notch........... The Décor though, the pictures of the food on the walls, the extremely bright lighting, the wobbly tables ( though that's a world wide Dining issue) and the 'Facilities' ( Circa The Grill 1985, one for the oldies out there), while didn't put a damper on the evening, did make for a less than comfortable/intimate experience let's say.

Sushi was very good. I have never not been given ginger and wasabi with sushi though, so that was disappointing. My partners beef dish was only ok, small and a bit dry. Expected more from this. The chili edamame were delicious.

We’ve eaten here several times before and always really loved it. However, this time was very disappointing. The food was ok, maybe not quite as good as usual but the service was very poor. We had an 8pm table, called to say we’d be 5 minutes late. We had to wait a few minutes before we were sat down. Everything took a while to come and we had to ask for glasses to go with the water and even cutlery and chopsticks!! We were all sharing and had been told we could ask for more food as and when we needed it. We asked for more (very delicious!) noodles and when we reminded them about them later we asked if we could order another dish too to be told that the kitchen was closed. At 9.30 on a Saturday! By 10 we were the only diners left and the staff gave us the distinct impression it was time for us to leave! Very disappointing 😟

Excellent food and service. We were accompanied by friends who knew Japanese cuisine and dishes. It's a bit of a learning curve for me but a delicious one!

Absolutely the worst restaurant experience I have ever had anywhere in the world. Took ages for the staff to take our order. Food arrived after about 50mins. Had about 2 mouthfuls and then heard the staff telling some of the others on our table that we had to leave now, unbelievable. I am a fast eater, 5mins tops for a main. The staff in this restaurant are taking the mick, and need a more realistic booking policy. We had a 1.5hr booking and asked to leave even before all our food was delivered. Then told we had to take the rest as takeaway, seriously! This was a complete surprise. There needs to be changes here, absolutely no customer service in evidence. I ordered bimibap which came in a roasting cast iron bowl, but with no porcelain dish was a hazard to eat from, and left the food in the base burnt and dried out, not worth the price. Summary : avoid, try any other restaurant in Aberdeen first. At least in burger king they will let you stay to finish the food you ordered!

Fabulous mix of Japanese/Corean food.

Placed an order via Deliveroo and experienced the most disappointing meal ever. The Japchae was excessively salty, and the KFC didn't justify its price. Usually, I go for Wagamama, but it wasn't accepting orders today. Despite the higher cost, I decided to try this alternative and ended up extremely disappointed.

I had a lovely dinner with my family. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The Dragon roll and assorted tempura is a must.

Very nice place. The food is really good, but the general ambience can improve. Service was all right too. However, £10 for the Korean cake roll (in the photo), that's a little too steep for what it actually is!

Came here for my daughters birthday. There was a group of 10 of us. Service was fantastic, food recommendations were spot on.

I enjoyed my time here. This is a cozy restaurant with a reasonable variety of selections of food. There are Korean cuisines available, as well as Japanese food. I had egg fried rice, with salmon teriyaki along with a blackcurrant drink. My friends had sushi, miso soup and rice, and we all loved our meals. The staff who attended to us was polite and professional, and the atmosphere in here is family-friendly.

First, It is not the first time I ordered it by deliveroo. I will say that the food quality is good. But the services were very bad, I ordered at around 19:30m and it took more than 90 minutes, and still not finished the preparation, I dont understand but if the restaurant does not want to prepare it why dont you just cancel my order, why you have to keep me waiting? it does not make sense for such behaviour. Please dont waste time and money on this reataurant. Please learn how to respect to your customers! I finially able to cancel the order after contacting deliveroo, it is not the problem of deliveroo, it is just the behaviour issue of this restaurant!

Were greeted warmly upon our arrival and shown to our table, lovely atmosphere inside the restaurant and staff are wonderful. The food was simply outstanding, I can’t remember the last time we had a meal out that was this good, we were there to celebrate my daughters birthday and both my daughter & son loved every part of their meal as well. The restaurant was full by the time we left (19:00 ish on a Tuesday) so probably best to book in advance if your going, I’d highly recommend & we’ll certainly be back in the near future.

Great innovative Japanese Korean food. Interesting varied menu. Noise level could be a problem for oldies!

What a delight. The staff were warm and friendly, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. We booked early in the evening, which proved to be a good idea as, even mid week, it became very busy around 7pm.
