Best sushi I’ve had in years, served in a laid back, welcoming and vibey environment. An absolute gem of a place! Ask for ‘The Moose’ - a beautifully balanced platter 👌🏽

Google search showed this location close to my hotel. Small but nice dining experience sit up bar where you can watch your order prepared . A large table for parties is available. I ordered the sushi special platter for one and salmon sashimi, very good quality sushi and nice personal touch from the team very busy place a testimonial to the product they use. Sashimi was some of the best I have had and would recommend to any sushi lover. Overall very good experience and good product, and pricing is very competitive.

Went Friday Night, extremely busy with takeout, but owners were happy to chat whilst making rolls. Friendly owners, pretty good sushi, and great price for how much you get. Limited spaces to sit though, but didnt have many people sitting in on a Friday night.

I dont stop at any sushi place except j.w.'s. They know their "stuff"! 🇯🇵🍣 Will miss you guys, have a blast! And I will wait for your branch in Canada 🙏

One of the best sushi places in Aberdeen. Staff are a delight very friendly the food is great and the atmosphere is brilliant. Definitely a must if you're in Aberdeen and like sushi.

Super tasty and very well presented, the guys are very friendly and happy to talk to you about the dishes. Thanks guys the tuna unicorn and the firecracker were very enjoyable.

Ingredients look very fresh. It looks like chefs know very well what they are doing, and it is amazing to watch them at work. It is not the cheapest but worth every penny.

That’s was so so good. Food is delicate, very fresh and the staff makes it in front of you, as they keep everything clean and make sure everything is safe and sanytized.

When we arrived we were surprised by a nice little food bar (not buffet but watching the chef cook). We ordered through a QR code and all the food looked really good. We waited a bit because the restaurant was busy (we were warned before being seated). We ordered the special called unicorn and the classic (maki,fukomaki..). The food was great. We all (4) agreed it was one of the best sushi of our life. The staff was really nice and hygienic. Only seeing the hygiene makes you happy. Overall one of the best food I had in Scotland/Great Britain as a visitor for 2 months.

Best place in Aberdeen by far to get sushi everything's made to order and not packed with rubbish, owners are very friendly and accommodating. If you want something that's not on menu and they aren't too busy and able to accommodate your request they are more than willing.

Literally the best sushi restaurant in Aberdeen. Using the freshest ingredients and the quality of the salmon and tuna is superb. The food was beautifully presented with such a wide selection offered. The chefs John and William are professional and friendly and obviously hard working. If you’re looking for high quality and delicious food, look no further than JW Sushi!!

I order from here as often as I can afford to and I have NEVER had a bad meal. The sushi is really well made and fresh, and there is a range of ingredients available. The folk who run it are super friendly and kind too. If you're looking for good sushi you'll absolutely find it here.

I‘m still impressed how they make sushi with such a good quality! By far the best in Aberdeen and probably one of the best in Scotland!! Only wish is to also do delivery, even if that might be via platforms like Deliveroo with higher prices. I would still very happily pay more just to be able to get it delivered!

Very friendly, did a fab veggie platter and took into account the children when putting it together. We had a fun time and my kids liked watching as the food was made.

Best Sushi in Aberdeen by far. This place is so good, the quality of the ingredients is great and very reasonably priced. The guys in there are very nice, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. You can park the car near by so easy access. The selection of sushi is vast, our favourite is the Crispy Tiger roll, both crispy with a bit of spice. Awesome.

The two guys that run it are amazing at their jobs and wonderful to talk to. Welcoming atmosphere, go solo or with friends. Very reasonable prices, and close to union street. 11/10 hands down best sushi restaurant in Aberdeen.

This is where I plan to go for all my sushi needs after visiting for the first time last Saturday. Easy to order, warmest of welcomes and exceptional food.

Tasty sushi at a reasonable restaurant price, with quick and friendly service. Not much of a dine-in atmosphere though, far more geared up takeout.

Managed to get in 20 minutes before closing and have excellent sushi before they closed at 9:00. The staff were extremely friendly and we had a lovely conversation while they prepared our food. An amazing vibe and a lovely family run place that we will definitely be coming back to (hopefully earlier in the day next time)

My husband and I found this to be a uniquely charming small-business experience with unbeatable sushi and friendly staff. A cool and cosy place, suitable for family and friends. Not much seating, but that adds to the charm! Well done!

The best sushi place in Aberdeen. A small location but it also serves takeaways. The two sushi chefs are two local friends who started their business together. The sushi is always fresh and you can see this being made while waiting or eating inside. Very intimate dining experience with fantastic sushi!

Sushi is the size of callaway golf balls. I have no idea what is going on with their food but it is not authentic. It does not taste good. The shop is the size of a tuck shop and the hygiene is questionable. Honestly speaking, Yo sushi have better quality sushi

Amazing service and delicious food. Just went for The first time this evening and really enjoyed everything. The lads preparing the food were brilliant and very kind. You'll need to order online at their website whether you dine in or takeaway. It's quite small, but they have one booth and some seats at the counter if you want to dine. Hope to go back to try more 😊

The worse sushi I have ever had. I'm a sushi freak and I had sushi from authentic Japanese restaurants, fusion ones in Dubai and Korea. And this is by far the worse sushi ever. The rice is not sushi rice at all. Big chunks of cucumber with no authenticity of sushi. Taste is bland.

A small Sushi place in Aberdeen town area. Sashimi and Sushi was delicious and fresh. I could taste a little fusion element in the Sushi but overall it was tasty and presentable. The service was great! Food was reasonable priced. Only take out option was available at the time of writing.

First time customer at JW's and we are very impressed. The crunchy tiger roll, futomaki and two other rolls were all fantastic. Unfortunately we don't live in Aberdeen so can't get this sushi all the time but we will definitely go back next time we are here.

Highly recommend. We actually passed when they were closing so went in in the off chance. Another order had come through so we were able to order too. The 2 men that were on that night were very helpful and friendly. The rolls were delicious. Will be back!!

First of all, the cooks are very nice and friendly and it is a shame that this is mostly a negative review. Cannot speak of the other food, but sushi are not the greatest. I honestly don't know why this place is rated at almost 5 stars, maybe because there is no competition in Aberdeen. I really hope JW Sushi gets better. + Friendly staff. - Sushi have weird shapes and fall apart. - The sides of the roll that are usually disposed or sold at the reduced price at other places are part of the portion here. - The taste is below average. Sushi are inconsistent. - Greatly overpriced for what you get.

In my opinion, JWs is BY FAR the best sushi in Aberdeen! Tiny place but super-fresh and honestly-priced sushi, the Salmon Sashimi is just... incredible! Love the Unicorn Rolls too. Impeccable level of courtesy and service from the guys at the bar. Always looking forward to my next visit!

Great sushi place. Fresh made sushi, good selection of traditional and modern styles. You can sit at the bar and watch the chefs or sit at the (only) table. They don’t serve alcohol. Definitely a step above the “standard” sushi fare without being crazy expensive.

Really fresh sushi, we ordered ahead and everything was ready as we arrived. Fresh, quick and delicious. What I want from a sushi restaurant.

Picked up a large sushi platter to take away. Selection was great and they even packaged it in a way that was easy to carry. They explained what each roll was and had separated the veggie rolls out so they weren't mixed in with the fish. They all tasted great. My only suggestion is that they try to replace some of their plastic packaging with more sustainable materials (palm leaf dishes are an option!). Highly recommended to all sushi lovers.

I had the Miso Soup, so salty and tasty, I also had the Tokyo Sushi over rice it contains all kinds of fish, I really loved it.

The BEST place to have sushi in Aberdeen! Their menu is filled with many sushi options from maki, temaki, nigiri and even sashimi! They had a selection of fish from tuna, salmon, smoked salmon, unagi and even king prawns. I highly recommend the unagi roll (8 large pieces). Its a roll with eel, cucumber and avocado. Another roll I recommend is the mixed selection futomaki/uramaki (8 large pieces) where you get to try any combination of seafood you like. I ordered the salmon, smoked salmon, tuna and king prawns futomaki. From there you can decide which roll you like and order a single kind futomaki/uramaki. I also highly recommend the Philadelphia roll which is a roll with cream cheese, peppers, cucumber, smoked salmon rolled in rice and fish roe. But any roll you order will be delicious. I am looking forward to go back again! Keep in mind that the place is very small and seats about 14 people for the whole restaurant. It's a very Japanese style as well. This gives the sushi chef's time to prepare your sushi and you'll be able to interact with them while they make your sushi. They are super friendly and nice people. JW sushi is from their names John and William. The service was quick. Everything was amazing!

Very tasty and freshly made food. Very affordable for sushi which is hard to find these days. First time I can say I've been full from sushi. Organisation was a bit jumbled but expected for a small restaurant. They were out of some ingredients but many options to pick from.
