We had a great time here. The place is super cozy and comfortable. Me and my GF had a normal and salted caramel hot chocolate which I can recommend, especially for this price. Usually I don't fancy salted caramel but this cup was delicious. The baristas were super friendly and we had a very pleasant chat with both of them. We'll definitly come back again and I will recommend it to my friends.

The coffee is delicious, they have all kinds and the place is very cozy. Highly recommended and quiet

Hot chocolate drinks were Luke warm but they were happy to re make. Cheese Scone was cold and hard

I love this place. It's always delicious, but please wash your salad (spinach) better. I found a lot of sand in my sandwich a couple of weeks ago. I am still a happy customer though.

Specialty coffee and a store.. a place crowded with a lot of things, but beautiful.. it gives you the feeling that you are at home.. the workers here are affectionate and kind.. it provides different options for sessions. I had the Americano Salvador, it was acidic but delicious.

Rude bearded barista made my trip and unenjoyable one. Made snide comments multiple times and kept referring to me as 'pal' at the end of these comments. Bad customer service and would not return because of it.

We came for some sandwiches, and since they did not have a lot of choices, they pointed us towards some places with nice sandwiches nearby. We came afterwards for a coffee, it was delicious.

This is probably the best coffee in town. In addition, it is friendly and lovingly prepared. This is how the day can begin.

The man serving us was very rude. He misheard the order and when I questioned it after realising we'd been over charged he made a comment accusing that we were wrong. Will not be returning. Poor customer service.

We were served by a guy called Tom who is the friendliest person on earth! He is very knowledgeable about coffee and pointed me towards a Chinese coffee, which was amazing, and something I never would have chosen on my own. Best of all, in this place you get a second cup of coffee if you buy the batch brew, which really surprised me. Such a great, cool place.

I come here a lot because the coffee - particularly the flat white - is always good and strong. My experience today was a negative one. I ordered soup entitled Moroccan Chickpea which turned out to be largely tinned tomatoes with a few bits of celery and the odd chickpea. It was so bad I didn’t eat it. The first flat white was weak and milky. The second one (when I complained) was marginally stronger (but not the usual animal) and the milk had been scalded to such an extent that I had to wait 5 minutes before I could safely drink it. So I’m £9.50 plus tip out of pocket for no lunch and a poor coffee. I now have to get my hair cut on an empty stomach. Disappointing all round

I've ordered coffee brans from Artisan for home in the past, but they coffee shop was not good. It was very old and in need of refurbishment inside, plus it was cramped. There were cakes, but the people serving didn't even know what they were. It felt like an amateur was running the place, not a coffee specialist. I will very likely not be returning, which is a shame, because their coffee beans are good.

Really liked the cafe late. Friendly service! They also have a few baked goods including good croissants to go with your coffee. Can also buy beans to brew coffee at home.

A unique Artisan Coffee House, we followed the beautiful aroma of coffee when walking down Broughton Street, it led us in.....freshly ground coffee served to sit in a lovely little bright airy back room with comfortable benches and chairs or you can sit around front shop on high tables and stools, Staff were welcoming, helpful in suggesting coffee to try ...will certainly return

Queued up to be met by indifference. I don’t expect much but a couple of words would have been nice. There’s plenty of choice in Stockbridge if you’re looking for great coffee and pleasant service. Today I didn’t find either at Artisan Roast.

We've been going here since it opened and having their beans delivered during lockdown was a bit of a life saver! We still get them. The cafe in Broughton Street is our favourite (the front part at least). Steve, the current manager, sets the scene with his knowledge and passion for coffee, and other baristas and servers are also interested and helpful. The house blend is excellent but we also like to try their single origins for our long blacks.

Discreet from the street, but truly unmissable inside! Warm atmosphere as if we had entered someone's cozy apartment, parquet floor, fireplace, green plant... we loved it!! As a bonus, excellent coffee, chai and pastries! We will definitely come back!

Went nearly every day of our six day Edinburgh visit because the coffee (flat white) is the best in town. Nice staff, comfy back room seating and we also liked the cinnamon roll.

We had a couple of cups of excellent, quality coffee that were the best during our short visit to Edinburgh. Nice apple pastry too. Staff relaxed, friendly and know what they're doing re.coffee. Relaxed, unhurried feel and a stylish, eclectic, shabby-ish chic setting. Would choose to visit again.

Coffee was great and of a solid strength, just the right amount of caffeine. When a coffee shop offers a latte of one size you know that they mean business. The barista was picking up the scent of the coffee as the espresso was run through, ensuring the aromas were just right. The man with the dark long tied back hair wearing the shorts is an excellent barista and has great customer service skills as well as extensive coffee knowledge telling customers that "ground coffee expires quicker on the shelf than whole bean coffee". The kind of info you want to know from a barista. The girl pouring the milk into the coffee was also very friendly. All round great experience.

The coffee is second to none. Absolutely excellent. Dayum these hipsters know their stuff. Small selection of snacks available, but the sandwich was really good. Some insufferable clientele loudly talking about their love lives and trips to Henley in a very small seating area, but not the fault of the owners. If you're triggered by students or trendy people, this place isn't for you...

Super friendly and great coffee

We visited Artisan Roast at Broughton Street a few times and tried different espresso drinks there, all were great. It is apparent that the baristas are real coffee connoisseur, and funny guys. They offered us complimentary tasting on different occasions, such as a whisky-infused roast (I guess) which was really nice. Artisan Roast has its own roastery and they retail beans from various sources with different roasts. I have been experimenting with my espresso machine using their darker roasts, and to me they are well balanced.

We were walking around Edinburgh and we discovered this little and cozy coffee shop :) it’s so lovely. We sit in place near to the window and had some coffees and pastries. It was delicious.

I pop in here a few times a week, and their brilliant staff never fail to brighten my day. The coffee is the best I’ve had in Edinburgh by a country mile, and the prices are still reasonable. Keep doing what you are doing, because it’s perfect.

A wonderful space to just sit back and think about the day ahead, or even the day behind. I ordered one oat milk latte and a cold brew. The cold brew was refreshing, so tasty - like fresh tomato leaves! So strange to find in a coffee of I was really impressed. I bought some of their carefully selected beans and I really really enjoyed them, too. I am certainly going to be getting more in the near future. If you ever need a cafe to visit while you're in Edinburgh then you're in luck! They have the best, and Artisan Roast is at the very top. Can't wait to visit again soon!

Coffee Nerds drink your heart out. Lots of lovely coffee at great prices. The Baristas here really know their stuff and are extremely passionate about their craft. Good place to stop by, away from the bustle of the high street and enjoy a genuinely good coffee like a local.

Great cup of coffee. Steven and Hannah were super friendly to my fiancee and I as tourists, and gave us many excellent recommendations. They even gave us a complimentary tasting of a new espresso roast they were experimenting with.
