one of the worst byrianis I've had. No garnish, no tomato, cucumber or coconut. Rice and prawns were unappetising and tasteless, bland curry sauce and sweet naan was totally covered in what I think was maple syrup. Will not be ordering here again, very disappointing meal.

Lovely meal food was fab and plenty of it. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

Great food and piping hot great service

I was taken here by my son and enjoyed the experience. Service was fast and food was good. I would definitely go back again. We had the set meal for three at £52 which was well worth the money for the amount of food we got. Would definitely recommend.

Was a little disappointed with the amount of chicken in the tikka masala and the amount of chicken pakora you got in the mixed pakora felt there was more veg.

Really good portion sizes and value for money. Ordered a few times and food is always delivered quickly and hot on arrival. Food is delicious every time.

We had a lovely meal. Two of us had the thali for 2 and enjoyed it. We were able to choose some dishes I hadn't seen before and they didn't disappoint. What made this experience even better were the really friendly staff.

Possibly the worst take away I’ve ever had, sorry but this was so bad we took a mouthful of each curry and it ended up in the bin. Shockingly bad.

The people were very nice, friendly & tried to be helpful. The starter complimentary onions with popadom was delicious. We ordered a Thali for 2. As we eat spicy food, we asked for a Korma which was with king prawn (a few were found). It was so sweet. Then the mid chilli dish was also insanely sweet, this had a few bits of broken chicken which didn’t seem a fair deal. The mixed vegetarian dish tasted like it was two dishes added together. Again not spicy enough. There was rice dish which was fine. However, there was naan which was doused with so much honey, & coconut. It was far too sweet. Had we known it’s actually a sweet course of dishes we would have picked a different restaurant. The prices are slightly above average & it’s not authentic. I have eaten in India and often eat Indian cuisine. This was a sad experience.

Found myself in Troon for golf business and I checked the reviews of The Maharani. As the reviews were very positive I called in on my own. Only had a Chicken Tikka main course so can’t talk in depth on the menu, but it was very tasty. Might not look much from the outside but the interior is very well appointed, comfortable and spotlessly clean. As per previous reviews the staff are extremely friendly. Will have no hesitation in returning.

We ordered a Take Away by phone for collection, which was ready in 20 minutes as promised. We were greeted by a lovely friendly smiley gentleman who was looking after the restaurant side of things. This place is clearly very popular, a number of tables were seated while we waited for our take away. I had Chicken Mirch Korma, my partner Lamb Tikka Bhuna. We had a mixed Pakora, Boiled Rice, Poppadoms and a Garlic Naan for about £38. There are leftovers for tomorrow! Great portions, and every single item was absolutely piping hot and completely delicious. Best Indian Take Away we've had for a very long time!

The Bhoona is so tasty and fresh. Asked for a mild one and it was perfect. Delicious but not painful to eat.

Been in a couple of times recently and always a warm welcome, great food and a cold pint. A Troon standard and one of the best Indian restaurants around.

I have tried other idian food and some are bad some are good, but maharani in troon is amazing the food is delicious staff are excellent, if you like indian food or if you don't go to maharani it will definitely change your mind it's 10 out 10 that's why we always come back to MAHARANI

All I can I say is wow. This place is something else. Firstly I just want to say the new extension they’ve put in the restaurant, LOVE IT. Makes the place so much better and it was already great. Where do I start with this place, food was 11/10. The chefs chaat paat was incredible, had some of the best tikka massala I’ve had in a long time. Amazing service even during the super busy week of the golf, especially the lovely and funny waitress Pindy and Raj who was a little shy but really great too. Can’t wait to come back again for my sisters 50th next week!

Best restaurant in Troon generally, not just for Indian food.

Requested mild and got mild but without skimping on flavour. Bhoona was delicious with fresh ingredients and there was enough food for at least two in a serving! Excellent.

Potatoes were hard and undercooked ,poppadoms were smashed to bits ,chicken was cold ,food actually tasted really nice but a the things mentioned let it down

If you haven't been, you need to go. Best Indian restaurant in area, and the waiter will make you smile, no matter your mood when you go in, you will leave feeling you have visited friends for dinner. Lots of choice and dietary wise, just let them know and meals can be adapted or highlighted.

Absolutely delicious selection of food. We ordered from the vegetarian mains and entrees including the lemon and lime chicken which was incredible! We could not fault anything, the portions were generous, the flavours were diverse and the food was very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely. I would definitely recommend

Was recommended to try this place, and I was absolutely not disappointed... Firstly ordered food over phone (very nice lady) and told an hour for delivery, it was here within 45 mins.. Food was hot and might actually have been the best Indian Iv ever had.. chicken tikka masala delicious, veg saag amazing, sweet naan amazing! Massive bag of veg pakora. If you haven't tried this place, you defo need to.. massive meal for 2 could easily have fed 3 of us, with delivery to ayr for £34 This will be the place I go from now on....

Your photos of your food, are nothing like what I was served. The starter was more like nibbles and the chicken main course was overcooked and chewy. not worth the money and the travel down from glasgow.

Superb Indian meals all round. Faultless. Back again November 2023, food still great and service exceptional. We spent about £90 - meal for four including a couple of beers and 2 fabulous naan breads.

The Maharani is maybe the best thing about living in Troon. The food is consistantly exceptional. The sauces are somewhat similar, nonetheless I've fallen in love with lamb since regularly eating here. Warm friendly service no rush when dining in the restaurant and the home delivery is exeptionally quick. Take away is typically a higlight of our week when we order.

I ordered the mushroom and chickpea rice and instead of chickpeas it had chicken which is a pretty big difference when you don’t eat meat I I’ve ordered this item before and double checked the menu and my order in case I made a mistake which I hadn’t - pretty unforgivable error

Mouthwatering meals very well presented

Superb food; full of flavour and generous portion sizes. Refreshingly uncomplicated menu. Fair prices. Warm, energetic and friendly staff who were happy to chat to you and assist with reccomendations. Would go out of my way to return here if I happen to be within a 25 mile radius.

The food here is outstanding and so is the service. I was made to feel so welcome and comfortable as a solo diner. I just loved the tandoori chicken and the spicy onions served as an appetizer (no charge) are wonderful!

Food is awesome. It is still the best taste and value anywhere of any indian restaurant. Back in 1992 I first went there for Valentines night the heating was broken and they had a small heater under our table The food was amazing so more than made up for it. Kepping me going back each and every opportunity. I have since moved away but eat their whenever I am in town and never disappointed you'd be a crazy not to try it

We had an excellent meal for 3. There is a big variety of curries to choose from. Everything was served piping hot and we enjoyed a lovely relaxing night. Our first visit and we will certainly return. The service was excellent and there is a nice atmosphere in the restaurant.

I have came in here for years but yesterday was Excellent. Both me and my dad agreed that was best was yesterday. Loved the sweet man, I had the best chilli chicken ever.
