It's good to have a new Indian restaurant in Ayr and this one has the advantage of reasonable prices, large helpings and 'Bring Your Own Bottle'. The food was good quality with a great choice and some regional specialities. Service was pleasant and attentive and the restaurant decor is reasonable. Will visit again.

Visited on a Sunday just as restaurant was opening. The place was empty and had little ambience - decor bland and lacking in atmosphere. Although we were the only people in there the service was slow. Food was Ok - Average. Won’t be hurrying back

They managed to get us a table on a busy Saturday night so top marks there. Also quick starters, but the main courses took ages and I'm sure people were coming in, ordering take aways and leaving with them before we got served, having ordered first. So the jury is out on that one.Food was delicious though, and it is a BYOB place, with a convenient Co-op just across the road to get your drinks from.

Visited here with my wife and son on a Saturday night, being aware of the BYOB licence restrictions and brought a bottle with us. Very pleasant staff and food was superb. We opted for the deal at £21.95 for 2, which was 2 popadoms and spiced onions, your choice of pakora (or mixed), any 2 curries, plus Pilau rice and a naan, with my son having a kids curry. There was so much food, we couldn’t even finish it, even though it was thoroughly delicious. Definitely a place we will be going back to.

Situated on a busy street [Sandgate], there is little attractive regarding the building, while the decor is acceptable if basic. The (only) waiter was pleasant and attentive, but the “ding” of the microwave should have alerted us to the problems. We ordered from the main menu - avoiding the packaged deals - perhaps that was a mistake,The shared Tandoori grill was spiced well enough, but the main (Chicken) meals were less spicy and the lack of freshness in the meat was more prominent. Both diners experienced gastric upset and it is reasonable to associate that with this low grade place and its poor quality food.If you like hot spicy that is very cheap and you consume a lot of alcohol first then you may enjoy the experience, but its really better to avoid this.

Having dined here before about 4 months earlier and had an excellent meal and gave it a big thumbs up we decided to sample the great food once again .We went for the set lunch deal chicken pakora for both of us to start with .It came covered in a very solid crunchy batter ,maybe they used pollyfilla instead of flour ?.Next i had the chicken balti and wife had the south indian garlic chicken .We had problem identifying what was what as they both looked the same and tasted the same [bland ] and very small portion of chicken comprising of 5 tiny pieces in each curry .It was not a complete disaster as the nan bread was quite good and rice ok .All in all we were disappointed in the fare that was dished up on this occasion compared to our last visit .Maybe they are resting on their laurels too soon to drop standards they started with.I noticed the owner of the Village indian takeaway about 20 yards away making a visit when we were there what for I dont know .Maybe he has a share or interest in the eaterie .Wouldnt surprise if he cooked this meal as we were unfortunate to have one from him not so long ago and gave him a bad report on here for that .From now on when i want a curry i can enjoy i will go next door to Weatherspoons .

Judging by other reviews, we may have been unlucky (now twice) but I really cannot rate this place. We visited again on a Saturday night, having booked a table for 2. We found they had reserved a table for 7 for us and seemed annoyed (not our fault they got it wrong). We were then shown to a table for 4 but after our starters were asked to move to another table (for 4) at the very back of the restaurant to allow a party of 6 to use our table! The food is nothing special, we definitely have had better (both mains extremely salty). My husband ordered lamb and was told (again after our starter) they had none (the menu is not very big). Overall not a great dining experience, the restaurant is badly laid out and totally chaotic, we will not rush back especially on a Saturday night.

Went to Indian Times at my sister's suggestion as she'd been a few times. Very basic decor and currently has no licence but you don't even notice that as the food is the star. Selection of starters between 6, of which the poori and chana were best. I had the Goan fish curry with haddock. A nice creamy sauce that wasn't too spicy. Fish was beautifully cooked.
