The sign on the door says "The Best Italian in South Scotland ' They aren't lying. We all had a mid week special. Amazing value at £15. Delicious garlic bread to share. A wide choice of excellent pizza and pasta and a drink each. Very friendly and attentive service. Great night out.

Our room was spacious, very clean and the bed was very comfy. Tea and coffee supplied in the room. The owners Carly and Graeme are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The evening meals were excellent. Would highly recommend staying. We stayed 4 nights when we visited Edinburgh Scotland and felt it was the best accommodation we stayed in on our 8 week holiday.

Went for afternoon tea. Food had been made previous and stored in a fridge. Sandwiches had barely any filling and a tiny bit of ham and a bit of a cheese slice! Cake was hard. Cheese cake without the biscuit. Scones had been microwaved. Clotted cream was not clotted cream. Coffee was instant and was awful. I would not recommend. Only good part was the prosecco.

FAB Sunday bar lunch here served by very friendly, professional, staff. Hubby had the fish & chips and declared the chips “the very best I’ve had in a long time”. I went for the roast chicken, which was delicious. We shared a sticky toffee pudding served with ice cream & caramelised banana-amazing!! and finished off with coffee and extremely creamy & delicious autumnal fudge. We had our two small dogs with us and they immediately brought over a dog bed and asked if they’d like a water bowl. Great service for us humans and our four legged friends. I highly recommend this lovely revamped hotel.

Booked 2 nights stay at this hotel for my partners birthday treat so we could explore the surrounding area. Arrived around 5pm after a long drive and was pleasantly surprised by how big the place was and how nice it looked at night, with the outside lights/veranda lit up. As soon as we got inside, the service and welcome that we received was lovely. After a quick tour of the room we headed downstairs for dinner, where again the service was great and the food was surprising for such a small hotel - it was amazing. Add to this that the chef quickly came out with homemade fresh out of the oven bread rolls....the smell was brilliant. The guy that looked after the front of house/served us breakfast was very good and very professional. Overall, our stay exceeded expectations and to top it off, it was dog friendly and had a lovely wee kids park in the garden. The only negative for me is that the bathroom radiator didn't work, so it was a little chilly - but things break, and I won't hold it against the hotel as these things happen and everything else in our room was lovely. Will return next year

Large family meal to celebrate young ones graduation from University. Service was excellent from start to finish and food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meal and all our little quirks and dietary requirements where met. Would recommend.

Really nice and relaxed evening in this lovely restaurant. Service was prompt and food was very tasty, we had the seafood chowder and haggis starters, lamb main and chocolate brownie dessert. Great food, well presented, also good value for money compared to other options in the village (limited!). Would highly recommend!
