I think takeout is better than dining in. The last time we ate in, there was too much sugar and the quality was unstable, but their takeout is delicious.
We did not stay at the hotel, just stopped in for lunch. It was a wonderful lunch. They do an over 60s special on a Friday. We had a three course lunch and every course was amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
Had a really nice, relaxed meal with my son and our dog. Dogs aren’t allowed in the main dining room, but in warm weather they have outdoor seating at the back that you can use. As today was cold, that was closed but we could sit in the small dining room by the entrance, which was perfect as my excitable young pup could relax as it was a calm environment. Lovely food, very friendly and helpful staff - we’ll definitely come again.
Lovely and fair-priced lunch with homemade soups, cakes, scones and even batteries on Sundays.
Barely 150m from the harbour, but very reasonable prices. I had really nice Cullen Skink and a wee cake.

I would normally give Storries 5 stars and I will always support independent businesses. Today, Sat 24/05/25, I bought a Scotch Pie and for the first time, I was disappointed. The crust was inedible and the filling was stingy. I'm wondering if they have new owners, as the person serving me had no product knowledge. They all appear to be Orientals and I wish them success, but I believe they have bought the name and judging by the food, they have lost the quality.
I was here with my aunt. We had the special: a falafel toasted wrap with mango chutney and hummus. It was a lovely atmosphere. I have had cakes and carry-outs from here. That was the first time I had lunch there, and it was tasty.
