The best restaurants in South Ayrshire South West Scotland

Order the captains meal, the chips were ok but weren't hot. The fish batter was rock hard and could of put a window out. Very little fish underneath and the fish didn't not taste right at all and I honestly can't put my finger on what it tasted like. It was like a chemical taste. We all got asked if we wanted white or brown bread and then didn't get any until we prompted the staff. Wouldn't recommend.

If sitting on a tatty faux-leather banquette, blistering up like a bad pluke, is your idea of quality then this is your place. The food is not any better. Bacalao came in a cold dish quickly making the chorizo and black pudding taste like your chewing fat. The menu reads great and you think you’re in for a treat then, when the food comes, it is so disappointing. Drinks service was forgotten – doesn’t make for exciting times, especially with only four tables in the place! It felt like there was more atmosphere in space. When the waitress ladled Troon’s least exciting Patatas Bravas onto the table and spilled oil over one of the diners first-time-worn blouse, well, this doesn’t lend itself to a good day either, especially when that person is your wife... Kudos to the poor girl, she did make a genuine and heartfelt apology and took details for the manager to contact us which was re-assuring. That there was no call from the manager is, given the day’s experiences, not surprising but entirely expected from an establishment that doesn’t have working locks on the toilet doors. Places like this chase people away to the city instead of highlighting the offerings a small coastal town like Troon can offer. I suppose they’re holding out for the cashflow increase during the Open in 2024, well my advice if you’re one of these visitors is quite simple - look elsewhere. If a restaurant doesn’t care to spend money on the basics such as seating and toilet door locks why would you want to spend your money with them? I can’t think of one reason to go back. Not one.

I was in not long ago for ham and cheese pizza and the pizza was good. I used to go along to the curry spot for pizza which was fantastic; but it is different owners now and they don't have the same recipe as the previous guys. But the Spice Lounge is the only alternative place to get a decent pizza, and the guy who runs it is brand new and always ask you how are getting on. I will be back in quite soon to get more more ham and cheese pizza. Dave

Excellent service and the best fish and chips

Ordered for delivery after a 5 hour drive to our holiday home. Food was delicious and delivery on time. 100% recommended. Thank you.

The food here is great, however ask them to do something simple such as putting chips into a separate box and you would think I had asked them to do 10 back flips. They then wanted me to pay an extra £3/£4 as I had to order them separately. This is an absolute joke so if you want something in a separate box be prepared to pay quite a bit extra for their sheer grief of having to do it. Joke

Wow good pizza I get donnar meat pepperoni and ham pizza every Saturday deliverd via scoffable the pizza is always tasty and very warm

We popped in here for dinner, having passed by so many times we thought we would give it ago and wete so glad we did. The portions were huge, the chips cooked to perfection and the pizza crunch was delicious. It was all freshly made in front of us so took a little longer than normal, the only issue we had was the woman serving didn't understand us and kept repeating our order and getting it wrong, she seemed confused to what a supper was but apart from that we would definitely return!

Never ever open, even hours later. Tiny portions and I mean less than a handful of potato and chicken bites.
