Blue Lagoon in South Ayrshire

Food terrible, service really bad and woman at till area and in back kitchen handing money scratching her head no hair net then not washing her hands then cooking food, (disgusting) my breakfast was very poor toast hard, stated on menu sliced sausage but I got link sausage which I didn't request, bacon was fatty and half cooked , chips were disgusting, egg was hard potato scone soggy and everything tasted of onion when asked about it they told me they didn't have anything with onions but both myself and my daughter tasted onions My daughters single half pizza and single mac cheese was very mediocre. I also got 2 cans of juice. I was charged near £30 won't be back

The food is great and the staff are very friendly 😊. They also offer a Gluten free menu and the staff are very knowledgeable in this area. We ate here twice during our 4 day stay at Craig-Tara. Would highly recommend.

Popped in today for quick lunch. Service was great, friendly and attentive waitress, food was great. I noticed the same waitress serving a disabled customer who was there with their carer and it was lovely to see that she took the time to speak to the disabled gentleman and not just his carer. Well done Yvonne so nice to see these people being acknowledged.

We had the BL fish tea double OMG absolutely yum yum and they do the halal option, you have to wait a little but 100% worth it, fish and chips were so fresh and tasty I defi recommend when in Ayr go to blue lagoon.

It was amazing!! There was a lady who served us and she was so welcoming and kind!! And the food was top tier. Would definitely recommend this branch of blue lagoon !!

Popped in for a chippy tea last night and can honestly say I will be back the food was amazing quick and friendly service massive shout out to my server yvonne she was very professional and welcoming also Michael the fryer best chippy I have had in a long time..Will be back if only you could give more than 5 stars

One of the worst burgers I've ever tasted. The shock of the price of it is a joke as well as soft drinks .£28. seriously get a grip.my stomach still ache n didn't eat the roll ..the chips were rotten .never go back here..stick to burger king next time....for your reply an sent email. The food standard is garbage. I'm now thinking in sending in a complaint to health safety standard ..your worst than Macdonald's

Maddie was friendly, efficient & made us feel welcome, she couldn't have done enough for us and even though it was late on when we came in, sblhe was excellent.

Lovely meal for two this afternoon, the best fish and chips in the land. Service above and beyond and a great atmosphere, I would have voiced this in person if I hadn’t actually lost my voice presently. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you , and thank you for the rescue glass of water xx

The fish was absolutely amazing and the young assistant was attentive. Pity about the older females response when I asked about the portion size, she gestured with her hands and gave a look to her young colleague as if to belittle my question. It kind of spoilt our visit making me uncomfortable for the rest of our time there.

Food was lovely service was good! Very attentive maddi and darlene couldn’t have been any better! Thank you again I will be back with the family again soon

We weren't told that the prices for sitting in are roughly double the prices on big display (take away). Nasty surprise, and moreover, food was rather low value for money. Avoid this place.

This Fish and Chips shop is very good and has a variety of items there was some vegans in our group and they said the vegan sausages were extremely good. The deep fried Mars Bar was so good I nearly bought another one the only thing was the lights were a bit bright and they had techno music would go again

Jay was welcoming and helped me get my first meal in 12 hrs. We had just gotten to Ayr and this was the place to go. I mistakenly walked in after closing but Jay never mentioned that, and Flavio, even though he had just thrown out the batter for the day, made some fresh after closing. Fantastic service and great price and portion. Jay and Flavio are the people you want to meet when it's late and you need food.

Better going to Marcos round the corner much cheaper and better quality

The woman serving didn't even look at us when we were ordering. She was also standing at the till chewing gum (or her gums) with her mouth wide open. I asked for a burger. She said, "in batter?" I said that I didn't think so but I'd go outside and phone home to ask. I came back in and said that it wasn't a battered burger I wanted. She just stood there so I had to ask if they did burgers without batter. All the time she didn't even look at us. We walked out because the service was so bad. It was as if they didn't want our custom. I'm not very good at describing this, but it was really bad service. I've always been impressed with other Blue Lagoons but this left much to be desired. If I could give them zero stars I would have.

Total rip off avoid. Food not great and over priced. Would not recommend very disappointed with quality of food poorest fish and chips ever tasted. Will not be back.

I'm really not someone who would leave a review (unless it's Very good) but I feel I have to on this occasion. If you are looking for a decent fish supper then steer well clear of this place, my son and I decided to order a delivery I went for the fish supper and a curry sauce. Now where to start? The fish was inedible batter was burnt but incredibly not crispy, I did find some fish hidden inside (I think I found Nemo) definitely a VERY small whiting took a couple of bites but was awful so threw the rest away, chips were OK ish just about enough to make two butties and the curry sauce (well it looked like a curry sauce) was bland with very little taste, so basically two bites of batter two chip butties and a few dips in the 'curry' sauce for £15:20 there are way better places that offer a far better supper in and around Ayr, my first and last experience with the blue lagoon.

We ate at the blue lagoon today at lunchtime. The food was awful despite cost being £30. Bread was hard at the edges. Breadcrumbs on fish totally solid and overcooked. Tea lukewarm and finished before food arrived some time later. Service was awful. I joined the takeaway queue in an effort to remind them we were sitting at a table for half an hour with no service at all. If you're passing this restaurant KEEP GOING

Lovely meal at the blue lagoon fish and chip restaurant. The fish tea was lovely and service was very quick. Nice, friendly staff who made us feel welcomed. Would I recommend? definitely if you like traditional fish and chips this is the place to visit.

Sit-in fish supper. Simply the best in town. Staff are just lovely and our server Siobhan was simply amazing, sweet and courteous. Took my daughter for lunch and we both felt pretty special. 10/10 I do however avoid this place if the girl with the town's worst customer service is working. It would be handy to know her shifts, to be totally honest, because the food is one million miles away from her attitude.

Lovely place. Great food, fish was lovely with golden crispy batter, chips were perfection and the young lady that served us was friendly and happy to help.

I order from Blue Lagoon on a very regular basis and always enjoyed the fish supper which arrives, hot and made very fresh that was until this afternoon... It arrived overcooked the fish fillets were tiny and the batter dark brown and very hard as was so overcooked. I am very disappointed to say the least and hope i never recieve an order like this again :(

A wee visit in Ayr today, decided to eat at the Blue Lagoon fantastic meal, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals one of the best fish suppers I've had, thank you 😋😋😋staff very friendly and helpful made our day 😃

Our first visit and we both ordered the fish tea. I can honestly say this was the worst fish and chip restaurant we have ever visited anywhere in the UK. When our juice was delivered the waitress spilt some over the table - no offer or attempt made to wipe it up. The only part of our fish tea that was edible was the fish - we ordered peas but the menu does not state that these are mushy peas. The chips were not even hot and were so overcooked that you could brake a tooth on them. I guess therefore not surprising that no-one asked if we were happy. Staff completely disinterested, gossiping all the while. This was £27 for two of us and money we could not afford to waste. Would have been far better to have just got a takeaway. Absolutely disgusted and will never return.

First of all Blue Lagoon Ayr is the only Fish & Chips who offered halal option for muslims and the quality of food is 5 star, fish is very tasty and crispy. Delivery was pretty quick and the Lady delivery driver also very nice, kind and humble. I really admire the service provided by Blue Lagoon Ayr and really appreciate the option of Halal food on the menu. All the best 👍❤️🙏😊

Service was shocking food took forever and was only chips chips and curry and pizza supper son was given a broken glass and cut his lip when telling staff all I got was oh sorry about that!!! Wouldn't return!

Ordered gluten free fish supper. Food was hot chips were still crisp but most importantly the fish batter was still together and crispy! Great experience!

The worst fish and chips in ayrshire! My piece of fish was no thicker than a pound coin,total ripoff. Never again! There are plenty of better places around ayr to get decent fish and chips.

It's not often you find a fish and chip shop that accomodates gluten free food. Freshly made and they also have a gluten free sausage supper option

I order from here many times and it always arrives on time, the food is always tasty and very hot so recommend Blue Lagoon to anyone looking for a tasty fish supper.

Went for the first time I'm Ayr and witnessed a lady who I believe was the manager having an argument with a male member of staff about something that was going on in the kitchen. I waited ages for my order as they were too busy arguing. I was actually shocked. Really overpriced chipshop and not the best quality. Gravy was really thun.

Thankfully the food was good or this would be a bad review. We were told via app 1 hour delivery then less than 5 mins before due arrival got a message to say another hour. Tried to cancel but app would not allow without paying full cost. Luckily food was hot and tasty when it arrived.

Disappointing Experience! I recently ordered fish and chips through Just Eat and endured a nightmarish experience that left me utterly disappointed. Waiting over 1.5 hours for fish and chips is beyond unreasonable. Throughout the agonizing wait, the staff exhibited a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. Their cavalier attitude and deceitful updates only added insult to injury. It's incomprehensible that they couldn't manage their orders properly to prevent customer frustration. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this establishment unless you enjoy wasting time and being treated with indifference.

Fish shop being run by someone who has watched chef programmes on TV, staff were lovely, food was reasonable, price was OK. Foul mouthed little guy behind the fryer moaning that food takes time to cook, totally ruined what looks like a decent shop.

The chips were nice and moist, nothing worse than dry, hard chips, but the batter on both the fish and the black pudding was soggy and rubbery. I was hoping for crispy, not chewy. Ended up leaving most of the fish but the batter could be peeled off the black pudding which was how she chose to eat it. Overall…meh. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Chips where reheats and charged £3.20 ripped my oap mum of and counter staff where cheeky. Lucky I didn't hear them , talking to a oap like that!!

Needed a quick bite on route home from the ferry and this was one place open on the 2nd Jan but this was really not great. King rib wasn't eaten as didn't taste right, Fish wasn't good and chips were tasteless and not good to eat. An experience not to be repeated.

My app told me the food was going to be delivered between 19:45-20:15 it got to 20:35 and I phoned the restaurant and they told me they would be another half an hour without a text or without a update on the app then we waited the 30 mins and still nothing appeared for our dinner it took them another 30 mins after that which totalled up to about an hour and a bit late which is totally unacceptable! And we paid a lot of money for delivery and this is how it comes due to the food being over an hou

Ordered from here the other week, got gluten free fish and chips with 2 fish and cheesy chips. Had never tried blue lagoon before and had been excited to try for a while. Food came quickly, although grease was dripping through the bag that the food came in. The bottom coat of one of my fish got stuck to my chips but it was still nice. I loved the food, also like how they used orange cheese on the chips as it tasted so much nicer as opposed to regular cheese. Not the best fish I’ve had but still enjoyed it and would order again. No complaints!

Ordered a fish supper and two dry rolls. I received a soggy, cold fish supper and two buttered rolls. Incompetent chefs and staff who can't get the simplest of orders right. Their delivery driver ought to learn good personal hygiene, because as well as being ill mannered, he smelled really bad. Ayr eats accepts this kind of service.

I must say I was quite very disappointed! I ordered 3 fritters and they were ALL overcooked! The batter was tan brown where it should be light golden and really nice and airy. Couldn’t eat them as they weren’t tall at nice :( but the fried Mars bar was ok and really liked the ice cream a lot

Food was cold and wrong order I order a pizza crush and I got a fried pizza. Delivery time was really late was supposed to be delivered by 3.40pm and I didn’t receive it until 5.02pm
