I only gave it one star because there was no option for zero. We arrived at this pub at 9.15 pm on Saturday night (website says closes at 11 pm). Five guys in our mid 50s / early 60s. All sober , hardly a gang. On approaching the bar we were told the pub was closing, despite 20/30 folk all happily drinking making no attempt to leave. Not being the type of guys to cause a problem we left. We were then followed out by a member of staff, don't know who he was , Manager / Owner / Bar Staff who said " we thought there was another two coming in". Make of that what you will, meant bugger all to us. None of us had been in before so god knows why he thought there were another two to come or what difference that would make. One of my mates asked if we could "go in for one", we are asked"how quick can you drink it." At which point I told my mates to leave it. With an attitude like that they were not getting a penny from us far less the £100 they might have got for a couple of hours. If their website says they are open until 11 pm on a Saturday night why are they telling us they are closing at 9.15pm. Even if they had to close at 9.15pm for some reason, why was the front door open, first thing they should have done is close the doors to anyone new coming in. You hear about so many pubs closing in the UK every week ,no wonder with that kind of service. Will never try this place again.

Be aware, cash only! Nice, cosy old style pub. Friendly staff, more expensive than your typical "spoons" but worth a visit. We were there while the police were dismantling a major cannabis farm just up the road, so quite entertaining.😂

The best "real" pub in the town. Proper 1/4 gills, none of this half a drink racket. Staff are outstanding and the locals are friendly and welcoming. Only bad bit is both the seats in the ladies loo's slip and pinch your legs ! Other than that, you will have to go far to find a better pub in Ayrshire. Walk past this pub and you will be missing out.

I'd say this pub is the opposite of welcoming based on the way myself and my boyfriend were treated. We popped in for a wee drink while in Ayr for a short break, we were made the feel like we had just wandered in to someone's private livingroom. The barman was condescending and rude but tried to disguise is as humour. Think he was trying to show off in front of his pals! 😂 Wouldn't recommend!

We live between Deeside and Dorset and rarely in Ayrshire but down for wedding and decided to go to Scott’s as knew the owners through business over 20 years ago when they just had a couple of places & heard a lot about their massive success . Honestly , we couldn’t fault it and … we eat out a lot . From a genuinely lovely welcome from Beth to excellent service from all the staff ( Isabelle was particularly charming & efficient ) - wonderful choice of menu , terrific cuisine and good value for money …. With a charming view . Some people look to find fault wherever they go but , we genuinely found Scott’s faultless ( inc toilets , decor etc etc ) . Absolutely SUPERB - 10/10- well be back and Soon 🥂

We visited for brunch this week, it took a long time to get service. When we did order we had a lengthy wait for the food. The food arrived and it was mediocre, the eggs were over cooked and lukewarm warm. We have eaten here before and the food was good but a big disappointment this visit.
