The best restaurants in Troon South Ayrshire South West Scotland

Always great to stop by and grab a cappuccino and, if a little on the more expensive side, it certainly beats the big coffee chains! Highly recommended.

We recently discovered CGulls in Troon when walking around the shops. It is on the street behind the main thoroughfare in the old Post Office building and is a hidden gem ! It is very well spaced inside and absolutely spotless which makes it feel safe and relaxing at the same time. The food and drinks are very reasonable and excellent quality - the homemade soup is our favourite. They also do non-dairy milk which is a pleasing change from many places. We can't fault the staff or the service - polite, friendly, efficient and all wearing masks and following all the covid guidance. I cannot recommend it highly enough and would definitely say to people to just walk an extra minute around the corner for a real treat.

I went here with my partner for an evening meal and was very disappointed following the number of positive comments from other diners. The food felt extremely processed and the chicken was extremely tough and overcooked in both of our dishes. The decor is nice and the beer was good but the food was not. The staff are very attentive but overall I was unimpressed.

First time we've had a pizza from Dough , so impressed ! Delivery guy was friendly and the pizzas and wedges were delicious and still hot . Definitely use again.

The lady that did the “meet and greet” on Sunday morning could not have been more welcoming and set the scene for a lovely visit. Also had the pleasure of bumping into my old pal John S 🤣😜

Super little gem of a place. Everything is Scottish that surrounds you. Carpets and decor. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is an issue. Nice get away location close to the beach. Great view from Upper window.

I have had a lot of curries in my lifetime and I can say in all honesty, that this is the best I have ever had. Complimentary poppadoms and chutney is a nice touch too. Very reasonably priced and good sized portions. If I am ever back in Troon, this will be first stop. Miss this beauty at your own peril! Outstanding food and service.

Fish and Chips nearly £10 for a fillet and half of Haddock. Fish was very good, no complaints. Chips however were straight out a freezer bag. £1.80 for can of Irn Bru so if you do want to try this wee chippie bring drinks with you.

Sit in for Sausage suppers and fish supper Friendly staff and tasty food

Terrible experience! Will never go back. We tried to book it for 5pm on the day we were looking to go - last Sunday afternoon. The member of staff asked if we could go earlier so we moved it to 4:30. We assumed this is because it closes at 6pm on Sundays. We were taking two people along with us for as a treat for them. We arrived at the door and the place was in darkness but the door was open. We walked in and there was a guy sitting at a booth at the very back of the room who shouted down to us that they were closed. I explained that we’d booked a table for 4:30pm and he simply shouted back at us “aye well something happened the night”. He didn’t apologise for not being able to take us. He didn’t apologise for any inconvenience. He didn’t lift his head from his plate of food. He didn’t move out of his seat to come see us at the front. We just had to walk out of the door baffled and embarrassed as we had two people with us who we needed to feed. This was our first AND LAST visit to this place. This could have been dealt with much better and we might have given it another chance but not based on our experience. When I’ve mentioned this to friends or neighbours a couple of people have asked me if it was a particular person (I won’t mention their name here) but all that says to me is that this person has previous and this wasn’t the first time they’ve been bad. Manners cost nothing mister!!!

Great visit today for 25 of the family. Food and service were brilliant and it was so wheelchair accessible which was ideal for us. The staff are so nice and helpful. It was a great day. Thanks to all
