The best restaurants in Troon South Ayrshire South West Scotland

When we arrived seated no problem. Whilst waiting to order 4 other tables that came in after us were served first. I had to ask eventually to place our order. We were then served lattes barely hot. And one of the orderd were wrong but we waited that long just ate it. Only good thing we got to take our dog in. Tbh though I think it got to busy after we arrived for the young guy to cope on his own

We were recommended to try the Silver Spoon cafe by friends. We were not disappointed. Warm welcome, varied choices of cakes. Salted Caramel sponge was huge, so light and tasty. Rocky Road was also good. All reasonably priced.

We recently discovered CGulls in Troon when walking around the shops. It is on the street behind the main thoroughfare in the old Post Office building and is a hidden gem ! It is very well spaced inside and absolutely spotless which makes it feel safe and relaxing at the same time. The food and drinks are very reasonable and excellent quality - the homemade soup is our favourite. They also do non-dairy milk which is a pleasing change from many places. We can't fault the staff or the service - polite, friendly, efficient and all wearing masks and following all the covid guidance. I cannot recommend it highly enough and would definitely say to people to just walk an extra minute around the corner for a real treat.

We queued on a bright but very chilly Saturday evening and although our first three choices were all sold out , we thoroughly enjoyed our food. We chose a Cullen skink and haddock and chips with a generous helping of mushy peas and enjoyed everything - worth the wait!

Couldn't believe a Chip shop in troon is cash only I have bought food from snack bars that have Chip and pin food was ok

We had a meal at The 3 Idiots, Troon last night as we wanted to support a local business. Unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience from booking onwards. Whilst taking the booking over the phone the man was abrupt and monosyllabic. After arriving, we were given a table in a booth that had a Happy Birthday sign hip -? from the afternoon and not taken down. The server (we assumed the same person on the phone) was abrupt, rude and deliberately spoke ridiculously fast like at the end of adverts when they give terms and conditions, and then rushed away. This was not funny or clever, but just gave the impression he wanted to get away as fast as possible and was not interested in customer service at all. We ordered from the tapas menu and it took 1 hour for our food to arrive and when it did it was not great. The mushroom fried rice was so oily I could only eat half of it. The chicken dishes were all really rubbery and overcooked. The food was clattered down on the table and the serving staff did not smile or offer offer any courteous behaviour at all. None of our empty drinks glasses or bottles were cleared away when additional drinks were brought over and just piled up at the end of the table. I noticed the same happening to the nearby tables. The restaurant was not full to occupancy and a nearby table was left uncleared for the entire time we were there - 1845 - 2115. It was a dreadful experience and we will never be back.

We recently visited The strawberry Cushion in Troon. WE were greeted warmly upon our arrival. We were seated promptly. The service was exceptional. Our server was pleasant, polite and informative. Our lunch was served quickly and the lentil soup was to die for. Everything we ordered was tasty and warm.

Insanely good. No matter what we order, the owner ( in particular ) is brilliant with all her customers and the food is exceptional and always hot.

The Ice Cream Factory is superb for both walk in Ice Cream and take away tubs. Excellent ice cream and great service. Good value for money too.

Took the family to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday . The staff were polite and efficient. The food tasted amazing , good portion sizes , plenty of choice from the menu which was well executed by the chef . Decorating my dad’s dessert plate with happy birthday and a candle was a nice touch . My son rates his burgers, he ordered the wagyu burger on our visit. He reports that it sits at 1st place in his top ten rating! knocking off an establishment in York which currently held the position . Our seating position was perfect with a view over the marina. Would definitely revisit Scott’s in Troon.

Terrible experience! Will never go back. We tried to book it for 5pm on the day we were looking to go - last Sunday afternoon. The member of staff asked if we could go earlier so we moved it to 4:30. We assumed this is because it closes at 6pm on Sundays. We were taking two people along with us for as a treat for them. We arrived at the door and the place was in darkness but the door was open. We walked in and there was a guy sitting at a booth at the very back of the room who shouted down to us that they were closed. I explained that we’d booked a table for 4:30pm and he simply shouted back at us “aye well something happened the night”. He didn’t apologise for not being able to take us. He didn’t apologise for any inconvenience. He didn’t lift his head from his plate of food. He didn’t move out of his seat to come see us at the front. We just had to walk out of the door baffled and embarrassed as we had two people with us who we needed to feed. This was our first AND LAST visit to this place. This could have been dealt with much better and we might have given it another chance but not based on our experience. When I’ve mentioned this to friends or neighbours a couple of people have asked me if it was a particular person (I won’t mention their name here) but all that says to me is that this person has previous and this wasn’t the first time they’ve been bad. Manners cost nothing mister!!!
