Large portions home style cooking. Very good. Sweet n sour chicken with rice in chips plus soft drinks for two for £19 all in. Fantastic.

The best place to eat Dunlop and Agnes are brilliant so are the staff And the food is amazing , My mum has had a few family parties in the swan and everyone especially Agnes has went all out to make them really special well done to all at the SWAN

For a Scottish restaurant (we're dutch), it was amazing! Cheap prices for decent local food! Definitely recommend! Frendly staff! good service!

Our friend had a lovely birthday lunch today in the restaurant. She is in a wheelchair and she was were catered for so well, the staff were so attentive and couldn't do enough for us. The food was delicious and presented so well . Would highly recommend and definitely be back. Thanks very much

Chicken salad box to carry out amazing 👏

Delicious scampi, chips, salad, tartare sauce and coleslaw. What a plateful! And this was from the Pensioners Menu. Very reasonably priced and so many dishes to choose from. The restaurant was very busy but our waitress still managed a chat and a smile.

The full Scottish breakfast was superb absolutely delicious great value considering the breakfast was loaded with high quality items amazing

Was in here for a light lunch a few days ago and i was very impressed. The food was fresh & tasty, portions were generous and very fairly priced, the restaurant has a lovely ambiance about it and the staff were friendly & helpful. I will definitely be back here again. Great wee place😊

We popped into this little restaurant for lunch whilst on a day trip to Troon. It does exactly what it sets out to do, good wholesome food at reasonable prices. The elderly clientele (us included) obviously enjoyed being there and were well served by friendly, attentive staff. It may not be haute cuisine but it's very good value for money, nothing fancy but well cooked and enjoyable.

This is a definite find, we visited expecting the previous cafe, this blew our mind the very friendly attentive staff, coupled with the excellent food was amazing. Working out how we can visit again soon. I would highly recommend this cafe/bistro/restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

First visit to the new Swan(across street from previous location)Nice staff and decor.Great menu,including pensioners specials(Our first since we got our bus passes)Lasagne and chips fish and chips, gammon steak and chips. All excellent,large portions and piping hot.Wee extras included coleslaw salad fried egg AND pineapple ring .3 cups of tea and 3 cans of juice all for under £30.Great to see this place reopen and we will defo be back.

Good food, staff and decor. Update 4 years later with new site. Still very good food, Staff polite l (forgot drinks but wlwhen we asked for them the staff were polite and got them straight away) went within a week of opening so expected to be a little slow but all in all a good experience and would recommend.

Went to the Swan today for the first time with my daughter and a friend. The restaurant has recently been renovated and it was clean and welcoming with comfy chairs and spacious tables. Service was slow and it was 45 minutes from when we sat down until we got our food. My friend used to regularly eat at their previous restaurant and said she was surprised. Our food came and the portions were really big. The food was freshly made and really tasty. I couldn't eat all mine but my daughter and friend cleared their plates. They also had a nice selection of home made cakes which were HUGE so I bought a couple home for my family. I will definitely return to the Swan as it was gorgeous food for a great price.

Visited 20/7/21. Can’t give any more as I couldn’t eat my meal of mince and chips. Thought someone had tipped a packet of salt into the mince it was ghastly. Granddaughter didn’t want me to say anything but as it was we weren’t asked if we enjoyed the meal when the owner lifted away the plates. Girl who brought meals is lovely and friendly but the owner needs some lessons in courtesy. Think new owners out their depth.

We visited here yesterday on a date day trip after seeing it had an ok star rating. Wish I hadn’t bothered. When we arrived the man asked table for two then barked round to the left. Didn’t show us to our seats and made no attempt to make us feel welcome. He then flung the menus on the table and walked away. He took our order but again didn’t make any attempt to make us feel welcome. When the meals were brought we were asked if we wanted any salt etc and we requested some it was flung on the table on a plate, I’m surprised it didn’t actually break. When the meal was brought, we ordered two steak pie and chips from the £5.95 lunch menu and while the potion was reasonable sized it was of very poor quality. The veg was a mix of overcooked peas, carrot and Brussel sprouts that had gone soggy. The steak in the pie was decent enough but had been cooked with willlie winkie sausages to make it go further which made the whole thing very sweet and not very nice. The chips and pasty was nice but then you can’t really go wrong with this. We had ordered two came of juice at £1.55 each so by my calculations 2 x £5.95 and 2 x £1.55 comes to a total of £15 however when we paid we were charged £17, a difference of £2. Unfortunately due to me having hearing difficulties I didn’t hear him say this and didn’t actually realise id been overcharged until I left the restaurant and to be honest I couldn’t be bothered with the agro for the sake of £2. It is however the principle of the act. I would have happily gave the £2 for good service and good food but I had neither. I’d have thought, after the long period of lockdown that businesses such as this would be doing everything they can to welcome guests and get them back but clearly not. This is one place I’ll not be returning to

This is an excellent place to visit for lunch/dinner we have been in several times and know the staff well. Prices are excellent and so is food with good portions sizes.Staff always make you feel welcome This is a must try place

Coffee was good but lemon merangue pie was a disappointment. Was going to book dinner but overheard the way manager spoke to his staff and was put off with his attitude. Nice to customers but very rude to his staff. Couldn't wait to leave, felt awkward sitting listening to their conversation. Don't normally post such a negative review but I have to be honest about my experience there

If you like heated up meals this is the place for you . I dont think its a coincidence that Farmfoods is over the road.

We stopped in Troon on our way up North, and so glad we found this little gem. Great service, lovely and quiet, keeping all the social distancing/cleanliness rules, so felt very safe... food was delicious, Fish & Chips with mushy peas for hubby, and I had the most delicious mac & cheese with fluffy warm garlic bread. The service was terrific and very friendly. The prices were amazing too, and we would say, this was the best value for money and one of the tastiest meals we had on our whole 10 day trip. We would certainly go out of our way to stop by again. Excellent.

Where to start. The staff were fantastic so friendly the food was simply amazing. Anyone coming to this area you need to come to the swan restaurant if you are looking for fantastic food at a great price. Would highly recommend

Lovely warm welcome. All Covid regulations being adhered to. Excellent choice of food at very reasonable prices. I opted for a cheese & onion toastie with salad and portion was huge, the salad was a meal in itself. First time here and it certainly wont be the last.

Ordered lasagne and it was served fairly quickly, but unfortunately it was more like a Childs portion and not very good. The chips were tasteless and lukewarm and the salad was bland. The place itself seemed a bit rundown and the staff weren't that great either .My brother had fish and chips and he was not impressed, tiny piece of fish and awful chips.

We have just had a great meal at the Swan restaurant in troon.We picked this restaurant during a 3 night stay while touring the west of scotland. The reason we picked this restaurant,was because on its menu was my dad's favourite meal, mince and tatties. He was delighted to find his favourite food, and he ate the lot, it was his favourite meal of the whole holiday.We all enjoyed our meal so much, that we booked to go back there tomorrow evening for a roast dinner. The swan has a great menu, to suit all tastes,and with very good pricesServed by a brilliant staff who couldn't do enough to make us all welcome.

Great wee restaurant, nicest genuine staff, great value, I take my kids regularly as its also there favourite place, highly recommended.

We spent just over £30 for: two mains, two desserts, couple of drinks (then two bottles of wine which they are selling) Totally worth going! Visited on a Friday night, (didn’t book) not expecting anything fancy. The food tasted great, very tender steak in the pie, and tender beef in the roast dinner! Please bare in mind that they say served with vegetables, we really only got carrots which I don’t personally mind.Choice of desserts were on show, we had an apple pie and lemon meringue, a good portion and tasted delicious.Thank you for looking after us well. All the staff we saw were wearing masks. Had hand sanitiser on each table, and at the entrance.

Went for lunch and there were no tables available but we were told come back in 15 mins which we did and it was well worth it. All safety precautions were adhered to and there was also hand sanitiser on each table. The menu is extensive, the value is unbelievable and the service is excellent.This was my first visit but it will not be my last.

We had an inexpensive meal of a reasonable standard for the price. The service was acceptable, and we were served by a nice lady with CIAO written on her tee shirt. Unfortunately she seemed to be unaware that there was a pandemic on, and was NOT WEARING A MASK. She also seemed to have NO IDEA ABOUT SOCIAL DISTANCING. The manager needs to get a grip on this. All the other staff were wearing masks except a young man wandering in and out of the kitchen. Other than that we would go again.

We visited the swan as a family, on the day of 50% off, this was to give local business custom while eating out and saving money. However, the man who runs the place wouldn’t let the waitress who served us take our payment. And then overcharged us, as it was 50% off and working on a budget, I knew exactly what we were due to pay, and we were overcharged £10. I actually bumped into another customer who I recognised from the restaurant in the town and they said they had felt the same happened to them, we discussed this further and both felt he is scamming customers, we have visited this restaurant a lot of times but I can assure you it’s the last. To be robbed, granted only of £10 however it’s the principle. And to think he’s claiming back that money when the bill was over charged already! Absolutely shocking. I for one will not be back. Y

Good honest home cooked food at reasonable prices.

Our first time in The Swan restaurant and we weren't disappointed. The reasonably priced lunchtime menu is an instant attraction. The decor is warm and friendly, the staff were pleasant and helpful and the food was just what a lunchtime special should be. This is not a criticism of the food as it was very tasty and just what we'd expected.Needless to say that we will definitely return to The Swan on our next visit to Troon.

Today was our second time to The Swan. Myself and sister visited Troon on Tuesday 21 July 20, and almost walked past but was tempted by the cake and Tea offer. We went inside and the staff are following the best Covid 19 restrictions I've seen. Great to see as others are just playing lip service. We sat down and decided to order from the lunch menu instead. I ordered tuna salad and sister ordered macaroni cheese and chips. Both came out and both were lovely. Compliments to the chef. If I did have a slight negative it would be that I expected tuna on the salad, not tuna mayonnaise as it said "tuna" in the menu, however still nice. We visited Troon again today Friday 24 July 20, this time there was three of us. We went in again during lunchtime and again we were not disappointed. We ordered. Fish and chips, macaroni cheese and I had fish with potatoes. Best fish I've had in a long time. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you. If you are in the Troon area, pop into The Swan for food and a pleasant experience, you will not be disappointed. Compliments to the chef 👍

Went in at lunchtime with my Fiancee and was very hungry. She had steak pie and French fries and mixed vegetables and I chose a burger and fries with a salad. Staff were very attentive Lewis and the lady working with him were very nice and busy. Full social distancing measures were in place with scrupulous cleaning of the tables after the customers left. If you're visiting Troon I recommend it highly.

Went on way home from a day out as we thought would be a nice but cheaper place to eat but disappointed as the main courses dishes were charged more than advertised also even though you can buy a takeaway bottle of wine for £4.50 we were charged £5.95 for 1 glass !!! So disappointed and not good value for money anymore

Decided to give a small local trader our business. Food basic, charged in excess of the advertised price, £5.95 for a glass of house rose wine.Owners disputing if one of them had been drinking and discussing how much money they had left in the bank, very unprofessional.
