Nicola and the staff were amazing, the food was delicious and the service was the best I have ever had. Nicola especially was such a welcoming, lovely person, we will definately be back next time we are here. We came down to Ayr from Perth, Stirling and Falkirk and the meal tonight was the best part of the holiday so far. We will be recommending to all our friends and family to visit Smiths. The service at Smith’s is highly standard, the staff members who work at FoH are so lovely and would like to have a conversation with you to make you feel welcome. The food is amazing, I would highly recommend getting Cajun Chicken Nachos. I’m in love with that dish. I always come back when I pop to Ayr for a visit

Great service from the entire team. Everyone was on form and pulled together. Fantastic 2 course menu with a great price. Food was plentiful and tasty - compliments to the chefs.

Had a great dinner as usual... service from Nicola second to none - she was run off her wee feet but nothing was too much effort... can't say the same about the young girl working with her - standing about alot of the time watching Nicola run ragged ... usually all the girls ok as a good wee team .. but great night with my bestie as usual ... great service from " the wee yin"

Went for my 40th dinner was lovely food and service was great.

Was very busy so had to wait for food. When it arrived it was cooked well. I enjoyed it. Good pint of tennants

Walked in for dinner prior to going to the theatre. Good choice but also 3 x 2 or 3 course choices for a set price. I had garlic mushrooms then chicken tempura with chips. All for £15 I think it was. It’s not Michelin star but good comfort food and great portion size. We were served by a lovely lass called Nicola. We were shattered watching her. Such a hardworking lady who took our drinks order, remembered them without writing them down and was funny. Also passing on details of upcoming events coming to Smiths. Worth her weight in gold. Our party of five loved our meal, felt it was value for money. 2 courses for five plus 1 bottle of wine and 2 full alcoholic drinks each cost £120. We loved it hope anyone who reads this will do too.

Went for the game and food, wanted food to watch the game, but got not a very good response, no tables yet we found one ourselves and no food was getting served yet I seen food getting served, the girl that served us with pigtails was no use and quite dismissive, went to the treehouse instead.

Lovely food with very friendly and helpful staff. It is also dog friendly, with inside and outside seating. Also, lovely selection of gins and music.

Good value for pub grub. Staff good too. A bit noisy however nice place. Go for the specials as they are good value and plenty.

Food here is pretty good...you just don't get a lot of it...I had home made pie... seasonal veg and mash...very little veg on the plate...and mash portion was tight...staff lovely...food good... portions terrible....

Lovely pub, great atmosphere and friendly staff

We initially went for drinks only but after one drink we decided to stay for something to eat. The menu was full of classic pub grub dishes, and that was what we got, my fish and chips were well cooked and really enjoyable. Everyone enjoyed their food with plates being cleared and no one had any complaints.

Called in for a meal last night before going to a show at The Gaiety. What we had was really nice and only £13.99 each for 2 courses, excellent value. Service from Nicola and Khali was very friendly and helpful. Will certainly return in the near future. 👌

Food was good. Kids enjoyed it too. Chocolate fudge cake is amazing kids couldn't finish it.

Called in on a visit to Ayr on our holiday. Very friendly staff, good food and very dog friendly.

We had a large group booking on a Saturday night and couldn't be more happy with the service. Everyone raved about the food, fresh and served promptly. Everyone was still talking about it days later. Didn't catch our servers names but so friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!

I come here every Wednesday and I just can’t stop going back there the staff are so nice and friendly especially Nicola and Jamie. Nicola is the best person she always welcomes me and my support worker and always has a chat with us about random things. The food is so amazing Chicken Tempura is so tender and just melts in your mouth. Food and drinks are at a great price can’t fault the staff they are so friendly and kind. I might end up getting a job there just because of how friendly the staff are and everyone is

Went for a meal with my family which included my 16 year old daughter. Service was slow food was okay and to say we spent over £180 could have been better. But the worst part is they allowed drunk individuals to wonder into the restaurant side and shout and swear and be rowdy and no one did anything. Was other customers that had left. Defo wouldn’t recommend as a family place. Very disappointing we were only there 50 mins and couldn’t enjoy our meals. And wanted to leave.

Decent pub with decent grub. Staff were very helpful and down to earth. Have a good amount of tables, inside and out. We managed a last minute booking for dinner and a few pints. If we're ever in ayr again be sure to come back.

We only found this pub as we were staying at the Mecure Hotel (not great) It's a little away from other pubs and restaurants. Friendly people, great service and good food. After a couple of drinks we sat down in the restaurant area. The value menu 2 courses for just under £14.00 looked perfect. I ordered Penne Bolognaise and my partner ordered Chicken Fajitas Halfway through we swapped dishes as the chicken was too spicy for my partner. I have never tasted such amazing Fajitas. They were awesome, a little spicy and I loved it. My only criticism would be that my pasta was slightly over cooked and lost that Al dente bite. Luckily my partner hates Al dente pasta and loved it. The place is very well run, very clean and a great atmosphere. I hope to return and eat outside in a lovely garden area.

Here for a few beers, however it is usual if getting Guinness even the alcohol free version for it to be poured rather than presented with a can, had to ask for a glass. Outside seating on a warm day is a bonus. Has a good covered area as well.

Had a lovely hot 🔥 coffee, some places you go the coffee is defenetly not warm never mind warm. Excellent location, plenty seating inside and outside, Dog friendly area. Defenetly recommend if you like your coffee ☕️ hot 🔥

Lovely food, good service, friendly atmosphere.

Been twice recently. Once to have a meal and watch the rugby, and then for a Michael Buble tribute night. Great value for money, lovely food, fabulous service... all of the staff are attentive and friendly. Go with the right attitude, and the right people, and you won't be disappointed!

Waitress was lovely and very helpful to my 87 years old mother-in-law. Food was delicious and good prices.

Love bringing my dad (89) here,it is his favourite place to eat with great tasting meals all the time, a big shout out goes to Nicola who is always so friendly and cheerful when we are in,all the staff are lovely and work hard to maintain standards,we had a big family meal here in November and it was enjoyed by all,keep doing what you are doing. Ordered 4 meals. One was good(chicken fajitas) 2 steak pies were cold and baked potato was rotten inside . When asked if everything was ok and said no, not really.the waitress couldnt care less. Should have went to local chippy.

Was staying at a nearby hotel and popped in for lunch. It was very busy but a huge 'thankyou' to your staff member Jackie who managed to fit 4 of us in. She was so friendly and helpful. Ps the food was delicious too.

I am unable to comment on anything other than the appalling bar service we walked into the bar on Friday 13 October at about 19:30 (for the benefit of management) and just stood at the bar while the girl who was supposed to be serving just totally ignored us and stood having a conversation with two other people at the bar she never even looked at us so needless to say after waiting for some time we turned and walked out appalling.

Place is amazing to grab dinner. Offers a large selection of different foods and drinks and food quality is amazing. They also offer a 2 course for a set price menu after 4pm. The place is also dog friendly what has approximately 10 dog tables inside a conservatory alongside multiple outside tables. The portion sizes were also really good and I like the fact that you can switch out the chips for curly fries (a rarity to find at places). I had the chicken tempura and curly fries which was amazing and the chocolate cake to finish off.

Found this restaurant while staying in Ayr, lovely lovely staff could not do enough for us. Booking was easy over the internet and best of all the food selection and quality absolutely first class. It was so good we came back a second time but unfortunately we now have to head home to Norfolk otherwise they would have another permanent customer. If you are in Ayr do not pass on this restaurant an bar. Nicola and the rest of the staff will make sure you enjoy your meal.

Was out celebrating graduation on Friday ordered a bottle of Sauvignon blanc and round of drinks and food . The wine tasted like burnt plastic for £17.99 daylight robbery and the food looked and tasted like prison slop . The bar staff sounded as if they were all on work release from HMP Bow-house talking with the most slang ned talk 😡save your money and head to T bar or Harley’s

Had steak pie was really good portion tasted great hubby had fish said it was delicous he asked for some butter from 2 different waitresses who left to get it and never came back so he was left with a dry roll it wasnt busy so not so good .however both enjoyed our meals at good price

I'm always disappointed when the beer options are mass-produced lagers, one big-brewery ale and Guinness if you're lucky. Why no "proper" beer, even in bottles? The food isn't bad here but unless you're a glutton for punishment and will sit through a quiz whatever, avoid quiz nights. It's like watching one of those game show compilation programmes on Channel 5 at Christmas. I had to shave twice, it went on so long.

I've visited here quite regularly over the years. It's got outside tables at the front and back, it's great on sunny days, and a small car park. The food has always been good and the staff are always really nice. Good atmosphere at nights out and they've usually got a good DJ on at weekends.

Not been to a pub in a long time that's had such good service good food and nice clean tidy pub .2 bar staff/waiters were really helpful friendly and made it a pleasure to have lunch with the family. They could teach other place's a thing or two how it should be done even when it is quite busy well done for great customer service

Busy we went in for drinks people were cueing for food and there was a line to get to the bar.

Food was really good and as expected pub food but large menu. Allowed to sit in the conservatory with our dog too which is a bonus. Looks like it could be a bit lively in the evenings!

Do not drink in here prices a rip off. Spoons on a five minute walk and wastles not that far price for a pint of Moretti 5.80 Smiths 3.50 wastles all other drinks in Smiths a disgrace so if you want to give your money away then stick to Smiths if not shop around

We were in a company of 8 people who were on a 3 night stay we really never thought of eating any other place its git the lot great and varied food goid choice of drinks and brilliant friendly service I can find nothing better than that

I was in today with my walking group. Staff were very friendly and helpful, advising on soups, curry and desserts. All our food arrived fresh and hot, and everyone said how enjoyable it was. And as for the mango and strawberry cheesecake, stunning. We hope to have a return visit

Smiths! When I lived in ayr, nay beat it! The beer garden in the sun, fan-fricken-tastic. Reason I only give 4 stars vs 5 is as sometimes the crowds pop bottles at ye head and table service isn’t provided outside (but that’s me being a picky pickle). Great spot all in all.
