Lovely friendly pub with great bar staff and a cosy fire - also really well decorated for Halloween. Well worth a visit, we will be back!

Was there with the family for the weekend. When we checked in the lady behind the desk ( the owner) I later found out was very rude and so unwelcoming. We seen her on various occasions over the weekend but she wasn’t very keen to even say hello . The young guy in the bar was very good and pleasant. He even knew what we all drank without asking. A great wee guy and excellent at his job Also a mention to the older gentleman who served us our breakfast each morning. He was top class and very polite and very welcoming to us all . The owner I’m afraid should maybe spend a day with her staff and they could show her how to treat people who are paying good money to stay at her hotel. The hotel was clean and warm with nice comfortable rooms. But I’m afraid we wont be returning. As we believe it doesn’t cost anything to be polite.

I am local and buy from this takeaway 4-5 times a year as a treat to save me cooking. Not I to deep fried food but they have a good selection of alternatives. The last time I was there the quality had gone down a bit but this time it was utter sh*te. The sauce on my dish was so watery that it all pi**ed out of the wrapping onto my car seat before I got home and then over my clothes leaving the actual food almost dry meaning I actually had to add some when I got home to regain some flavour. Sorry looking salad and flavour less food with zero pride or care given to preparing it and service without a smile. If I hadn't been so hungry and had a bit of cooked fish in the fridge to add to enhance it I would have thrown it straight in the bin. Such a pity because it used to be very good.

We were there yesterday 17 December as group and had a lovely lunch. Food was piping hot and very tasty. Service was excellent and there was plenty room around the tables. Will definitely return again soon

We visited Saturday 9/10/21 , restaurant was quiet when we arrived but very quickly most of the tables were taken. Person who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly as were all the staff on duty. Food was very tasty, would recommend the pate and seafood mornay. I would go so far as to say that this was the most enjoyable meal out all round that I’ve had for quite some time. Reasonably priced too; bill for 4 people - 11 courses and 5 soft drinks was £113. Thank you!

Lovely place....food delicious ample portion size ...menu caters for all tastes...I opted for the steak pie..and my friend the olives...both were delish..will def return..well worth a visit...

Great food and good staff at reasonable prices. Situated just off the main road through Port Elphinstone. Would eat here again.

So placed a order online. Adhering to the covid rules, Got the meal a lamb balti a Ceylon garlic chilli chicken, garlic rice, mushroom rice a garlic naan, and chapatis, well what can I say, the lamb was so tuff it was impossible to eat, there was no mushrooms in the rice, there was no chilli in the garlic chilli chicken. The naan was undercooked and raw in the middle. The chapatis where rock hard. We phoned the restaurant to complain but the manager was incredibly rude, kept talking over me when I was explaining the problems, we spent £44 pound on a treat, but was badly let down. I will be taking this to the trading standards as I do not want anyone to spend their hard earned money on food that is substandard. The customer is always right and should be allowed to express when things are not as they should be. So be warned. I will be sharing this on Twitter, Instagram and all local social media platforms.

Lovely cafe - great ambience, lovely food, fair prices, clean and friendly staff - highly recommend. I liked the gift shop that was also inside.

Ordered takeaway last Sunday and me and my wife got food poisoning from the food. The chicken korma sauce was like water and the onion bajis were stale. It’s a shame because the restaurant use to deliver good food but the standards have clearly dropped massively.

Visiting the Peterhead area for a couple of days with my wife , we fancied some Indian food We were recommended to visit the Bengal Spice in Mintlaw From the outside we weren’t expecting much So glad we were wrong Genuinely the best and tastiest curries we have had in a long time We have a couple of decent Indian restaurants we use in Dundee but this place knocks them for six Took us back to the days of Jacob/ Royal Oak/ Malabar , high praise indeed Well worth the visit if you are anywhere near

Really big portions. I'm a guy 100+kg and I barely finished it. I ordered chicken with rice, it was delicious.

Took an hour to be served our food, and when we did get it, chips were over cooked, the cajun chicken was so spicy we couldn't eat it, had very little chicken in it, mostly was sauce, was as hot as a madras, kids burger bun was burnt, not good. Won't be coming back.
