Tip when coming to this place try to ask for vegan everything and you will get it. If not, you will get the alternative. Thriving community place with plenty of people, gracious staff.

Cold, snowy Sunday night and didn't feel like going out so had a takeaway from here. It was fantastic, really nice food. Rice is usually just rice but their vegetable pilau is the best rice I've ever had! Beautiful. And the tamarind chicken on the specials was absolutely lovely, really unusual combination of flavours that worked well. Chicken was perfectly cooked and sauce was very nice. Really good veg pakora as well. A bit pricey but well worth it, thoroughly enjoyed it and the guys in the restaurant were so nice. Definitely want to go back and try the restaurant.

Nice cup of tea and scone served by very lovely staff. We walked fast after our tour to get the table by the window! What beautiful views. The lady serving us told us about sea life and birds we might spot and offered us use of the binoculars. She was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. She offered extra hot water for our tea and chatted with us. Lovely. Would visit again if we were in the area.

The Dolphin has been on site at West Pier on Peterhead Harbour for three decades, serving favourites including fish and chips using product landed at the harbour. Burgers, jacket potato and pies are among the regular offerings along with pineapple and banana fritters. The baked tattie was great, by the way. But there was a surprise on the menu on the day we visited. I asked what the soup of the day was and the answer: "Mince and tattie soup." Shocked but interested. I had to try it. Take a bow, Pauline, it was great, wee chunks of meat and packed with vegetables. Five-a-day not a problem. Fancied a sticky toffee pudding but was told to resist as we were heading for dinner in a local hotel that night.

Distinctly Average - Could do a lot better. Second time this week. Was there on Wednesday and again on Saturday. Wednesday was a good experience but Saturday we were met with the fire alarm going off. Not a good start. Service at first was good but then dropped off as the evening went on. Was left for 20 minutes waiting for a drinks order and eventually had to go to the bar to get attention and found 3 members of staff chatting. The food was extremely average. Goat cheese starter was over cooked on the outside and frozen on the inside. Main courses were all over done with the exception of the goulash . The "golden batter" was more a deep dark brown than anything and the chicken dishes were all dry and overcooked. The chicken burger was cremated and extremely dry but the bun and salsa was extremely stodgy. Presentation on Wednesday was really good but our meals on Saturday reminded us of school dinners extremely poor. basically thrown on a plate. All in all not a very good experience but the potential is there , as demonstrated on Wednesday. A little bit of extra time in preparation and presentation would help along with some new oil. All in all not good value for the money paid.

The carvery is to die for. Great value for money. Dogs are allowed in the bar. There is ample parking in site. The food is fresh and piping hot. Best part: you can go up and get more veggies as many times as you want

Vegetarian option for lunch was cold. A red pepper halved and filled with cold couscous sitting in a pool of cold tomato puree which was very tart and some salad veg on the side. Won't be eating here again. Most restaurant offer choices for vegetarian now as the norm.

Had a really enjoyable lunch with family. Very nice options on the menu all clearly prepared fresh in the kitchen and amazing cake options! Service was attentive and friendly - a really pleasant experience. We were fans of the establishment previously so great to see new ownership continuing high standards of the past.

Firstly very pleasant and attentive staff. Restaurant is spotless. Now the food, Bean Curd starter was amazing followed by Twice Cooked Pork which was to die for. Wife had Jiang Bao Chicken and Soft Noodles. Best Chinese meal we have ever had. Brilliant dining experience.

Went for a midweek takeaway, food was nice. Opted for a random curry with peshwari naan, hot and portion sizes are good. Only visited 2 Indians in Banchory, this one is my favourite so far

After a longer than expected drive through to Banchory, we were delighted to find this dog friendly café with a lovely selection of food and drinks. Soup and sandwich combo is very good value. Water and a bowl of treats for Glen our dog

The staff serving are lovely but the food quality really let our visit down. The Canadian pancakes were stone cold, the streaky bacon barely cooked. The crispy bacon bagel was anything but, the streaky bacon again barely cooked and smelt like it was off. The cappuccinos were just a milky coffee with no froth. £20 for inedible food means sadly with regret we won't be returning.

First of all, I want to say that I love Indian food. It's one of my favorite cuisine that I went there. I wasn't even aware of the beauty of the cuisine. But sir, this is missing something. Something that is the core of Indian food: spice. Why chicken tikka masala tastes like sweet Doritos? What kind of a recipe is this? You should pay a visit to India to reunderstand the cuisine again. Thank you.
