Used to be a family favourite but has become an absolute avoid. Food was abysmal: minestrone soup that was just a basic, flavourless vegetable broth; pizza arrived cold and with a cheap out-of-season squash to replace the advertised pumpkin, the cheese was congealed so it had clearly been left out waiting. Staff tried to argue that it was “the Italian way for the meat to be cold” which is the funniest excuse I’ve ever heard and I’ve lived and worked in Italy so I know that’s not true. A hilarious 12.5% service charge automatically on the bill even though the entire service we received was someone (after a long wait) taking our order and (after another long wait) delivering our food, which last I checked is what their wages pay for and does not deserve a tip. Didn’t bother staying for the “award winning tiramisu” considering everything, and that we couldn’t even have a conversation with the terrible acoustics, but saw it at a neighbouring table and it was just a pot of cream with no layers in sight which is not authentic tiramisu in the slightest. Overpriced and overrated.

This was my first visit, a bit complicated when ordering it could be better organised. People standing around waiting for there orders! I thought it was a bit pricey!

Good experience. I think service could be a little faster. Opted for a la carte. Location is beautiful

Can't fault a wonderful private dinner party here at The Chester Hotel. Staff were attentive, friendly and made a special day even more special. Delicious cocktails, yummy food, a beautiful location and great setup. Would recommend and return. Thank you to the team!

I had a hot chocolate topped with lots of cream and marshmallows!! Service was first class!!

Visited today with my partner and was well received. Food was delicious, excellent quality for very reasonable prices. Will definitely come again. Thanks to staff.

This visit was for takeaway. Fresh cooked Haddock & Chips .... was perfect (as usual).

Lovely to sit outside in the sun. Terrible customer service. The young girl that served me made no eye contact, very abrupt and sharp as she served me. Made to feel it was a an inconvenience. Staff need more training to be warmer, more engaging with customers. I won’t be back.

So rude, and immediately assumed I would go for a cheaper dress when I told her what school I go to. She was also really rude to another client of hers.
