Da Vinci Italian Restaurant in Aberdeen City

Visited after having been recommended the incredible pizza. Three out of four of us had (various different) pizzas and were blown away, the other main of creamy mushroom pasta was equally as brilliant. The tiramisu and cheesecake were lovely, as was the wine we chose (there is a very good selection). The owner waited our table and was very friendly and good humoured, as were all of the other members of staff. Would highly recommend as a hidden gem in Aberdeen, and if you are looking for authentic Italian food in the North East.

Had a really great dinner here on the 27th December. Started with a Godfather cocktail and then had Minestrone soup to start and braised ox cheeks in red wine sauce as a main. Accompanied with excellent red wine by the glass. Finished off with panna cotta and berry coulis. Food was served promptly and tasted great. Service was attentive and friendly. No complaints at all - keep up the great work!

Christmas team lunch that didn’t fail to impress. A warm and friendly welcome on arrival which was extended to some of my party that were late. The staff I can’t appreciate more and the food was excellent.

Having visited previously and found it outstanding I decided to book lunch for 1PM on Saturday. I was told by the manageress to make it 1230 since they closed at 3PM. Strange, but I accepted this. However this should have been a warning sign. We were the only people eating in the restaurant - another warning sign. The attitude of the manageress was formidable - to say the least. When the food arrived the two different soups were lukewarm as were the vegetables. We should have complained when we were asked if everything was alright, but her attitude put us off doing it, plus I never send anything back. When one of my guests left her main course unfinished she was chastised by the manageress. The final touch was the 12.5 service charge. NEVER AGAIN

If you are in the mood for some pizza & pasta, Da Vinci's in Aberdeen is the place to go. I heard some great reviews from friends and wanted to give it a go myself, booking in advance is advisable as it can fill up really quickly although they charge you a £10 booking fee online to reserve a table which is a bit disappointing and you can't use it towards your bill either, it gets refunded at a later date. Da Vinci's is a modern quaint restaurant located on Alford Lane in Aberdeen, staff are really down to earth, friendly and really do give you a warm welcome. They have several menus including a set course menu, pizza menu and the normal main menu, pricing is a little expensive but for a family run business it is expected as the food is second to none, served hot, well presented and tastes delicious. I highly recommend trying a pizza although it would be good if they could add a spicy variant as I think that could be quite good. They do automatically add a service charge to the bill which I find disappointing as this is mainly found in England as we normally tip if out at a restaurant. So with the £10 booking fee and the service charge it did make it an expensive trip out for the evening but well worth it for the food quality. Will definitely be back to try some more pizza!

In a hurry and pressed for time then Da Vinci is your place to be. Been many times before and have loved the dinning experience Da Vinci offered. Unfortunately this time was left feeling disappointed. From the moment we entered we felt rushed out of the restaurant (some would even say harassed). Not just from one member of staff but three. This created an unpleasant experience and sadly was not able to relax. For example pressured to order asap, taking plate away literally when taking last bite, placing bill in front of me straight clearing etc. They allow hour and half table time however if we didn't order bottle of wine it would have been a 30min experience for two course. Watch out too for 12.50% service charge include in the bill.

Let's start with the good stuff! Pizzas good (but not exceptional ) and over priced at £16 and £17. Ragu was the most authentic and best tasting thing on the menu. Now the not so good stuff! My daughter ordered a mocktail. It arrived in a heavy tumbler and tasted like diluting juice. The supposed minestrone soup had no tomatoes, no veg apart from some tiny bits of onion and was served luke warm. Bread was dry and no butter or oil offered. No pepper or parrmesan offered. No veg served with£18 pork and no waiter to ask. No pepper on table and still no one to ask. We helped ourselves from the rows of pots sitting on the bar. The filling in the canoli was not great - bland. When questioned about some drinks on the bill it was explained they do not have correct descriptions for rum so put it through as grappa. There was a whopping 12.5% service charge on the bill. We did not complain at the time and that was our fault. We put it down to a bad experience and my daughter was visiting so we didnt make a fuss. However, at home on further inspection of the bill, we discovered we had been charged for two glasses of claret we did not receive - an extra £15 plus the service charge I informed the manageress who had served us (not an inexperienced waitress) She put the blame on us for not checking the bill (difficult when drink descriptions are wrong) she agreed to credit us. Husband went in to receive his credt. She appeared angry. We had given her a chance to address the issues before writing this review. We chose this restaurant because we liked the authentic Italian atmosphere. Sadly, due to this experience, particularly the attitude of the person in charge, we will not be back. Nor will any of our friends.

Wonderful food, wonderful ethos, friendly and helpful staff, Italian food prepared by Italians. The real deal! i will be back!!!

We love this place because of the great vegan menu it has, but it also caters very well for the meat eater in our family, too. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and efficient.

Authentic Italian fare in the heart of Aberdeen. It’s a cosy wee restaurant with exceptionally good food. The chicken liver parfait and bruschetta were excellent. The Chef patron knows her stuff, a great ambassador to her home country, and a real taste of traditional, regional food. The pasta dishes went down a treat, as did the pizzas. The restaurant was busy for a Sunday evening, which is good to see that local businesses are being rightfully supported. The service was very efficient, albeit lacked a bit of warmth but you can’t really ask for much more. If you want a true sense of Italy’s 🇮🇹 best then Da Vinci’s ticks all the right boxes. It was good value for money and we will definitely continue to return. Thank you to both front and back of house, our food was delicious.

Don’t normally do reviews but felt I had to due to the rude service we received from the manager on our visit. The food and setting is nice, however the attitude that I received from the manager relating to my meal not being what I expected was unacceptable and not how I would expect to be treated when paying for a high standard of service. This ruined our experience of this restaurant and I won’t be going back due to this experience.

Went with my wife and booked for 12.30 (gift for Father's Day from my son and family). Lovely,warm welcome....I started off with the minestrone soup and Linda went with the home made pate.... both brilliant. My wife had the mini porcetta ( honestly superb).I took tagliatelle with the homemade ragu... excellent.We shared the homemade lemon and chocolate cheesecake with lemincello cream... Brilliant...We both had Perroni.I had couple glasses Montepulciano and Linda had two glasses Pinot Grigio. ..finished off with a warm brandy and a negroni.... As good as an Italian meal we've had .....been to Milan, Tuscany,Rome, Assisi and Florence but seriously this was exceptional..... Just a smashing ,homely feeling from start to finish.

I’ve lived in Aberdeen for 40 years and eaten in so many restaurants. My absolute favourite recently has been Cafe Boheme , but now I have another favourite, Da Vinci. The meal I had this evening was superb. The pate starter was the best I have ever had. Served over a flame, melting beautifully, with lovely onion chutney and perfect toast. And a fantastic chicken breast in a very delicate breadcrumb for main course. A small wine list of which I tried 3 wines from. All very good and at a price you dont mind paying in such a fine restaurant. I am into my wines and I was really happy with my choices. The service was excellent. Very discrete but friendly and efficient. The price was middle range for top range food and service. I don’t often leave reviews but had to this time. I had a lovely dining experience. 5 star.
