Happy to sell a bottle of procecco and beers, then aggressively come up the table and paid drinks fro. customers. Very aggressive staff who shouldn't be in the hospitality business Don't go they are horrible people

Went in with our small rescue dog. Bar staff made it clear that we weren’t welcome. Very rude and don’t like dogs. Really dodgy high people in there including staff. Won’t be going back

Absolutely cracking pub!! Live on Union Grove and even if I didn’t, I would make the effort to come here. The staff have always got a smile on and give you a good conversation. Normally local pubs can be a bit cliquey, but every time I’ve been in, everyone chats with everyone. And it’s very dog friendly!!! It’s what pubs should all be like. They have mastered the friendly feel to a pub and well done to all!!!!

Couldnt pay with cash! First time in my 60+ yrs on this planet a bar has refused actual money. You need to get Export back on draught - the current selection of ales is poor. On the plus side, the barmaid was a gem. Very helpful to us.

What can I say about this fabulous local bar that hasn’t been said before!? It is super dog friendly - we love to bring our puppy in for socialising & playtime, also some much needed naps! And he gets special doggy treats on every visit from the wonderful staff too.

Our first time trying Glentanar for our 10th anniversary, food was amazing and service excellent. Huge thank you to Demi and Jade for making our evening special (and thank you for the anniversary dessert)

Visited a couple of times on our recent trip to Aberdeen and can't recommend the place highly enough. Whilst we didn't eat ourselves, the food on the tables did look excellent. Loved the fact it was also dog friendly (and I made a new pal in Meg, one of the dogs in there). Staff were super friendly too and the place was absolutely spotless. All in all a really good atmosphere and a place we will happily visit again on our next trip to the Granite City.

Popped into the Glentaner as it’s doggie friendly and just round from our hotel very clean Staff very Attentive prices ok it has just reopened so they have to get properly stocked up they will be doing food later on we visited here about 4 times during our 3 days gets a 10/10 Well worth a visit and covid friendly

First visit to the Glentanar Bar since time began and wow what a change! New post lockdown Decor, atmosphere, Staff and management all superb and will defo go back soon. Must find out who their painter was? Hidden gem of a place for locals and visitors alike. Can’t wait to go back to try their new food joint venture once it opens. Excellent little bar. Great set up for safe but friendly Covid rules. Staff are exceptional. Atmosphere is really welcoming. Allows you to get takeaway delivered whilst you have a pint - perfection!

Popped in on a quiet Monday for a quick lunch and was impressed with the friendly staff and tasty and well presented food. A good range of reasonably priced food. Also good to see another dog friendly place. Was offered water and nibbles and lots of cuddles (the dog was, not me!) Will be returning soon to see new menu.

My favorite place in Aberdeen, nuff said. Best staff, great compatriots and friends. RARELY have I found a pub that comes up to snuff. But.. I have. It's my first and last place to go in Aberdeen Scotland.

Growing tattier. Not sure if ownership has changed, but decor is more "cheap and cheerful" and staff are fewer & less attentive. Not a change for the better.

My niece booked a table for 3pm Saturday for food and drinks, booking was excepted.when we arrived couldn’t find our table so asked a member of staff who got the manager. We were told booking had been cancelled that morning which was not true. We managed to get a seat thanks to two young gentlemen who gave up there table for us. When time came to order food although limited choice ordered hot dogs, can only describe it as disgusting three out of four thought same.place very noisy and so packed people almost sitting on your shoulder as you eat .wouldn't recommend won’t be back.

Very friendly bar staff and very welcoming to dogs. They bring water and a biscuit for the pooches. Busy bar on a Saturday as has live music and lots of tables get reserved.

Paid a visit to The Pig’s Wings at The Glentanar Bar as part of the food firms residency at the bar. The food was really good - especially the Boar B-Que sub, not to mention the Hotwurst - however this hot dog is pretty spicy!! Try out the chicken wings and the loaded fries, you won’t be disappointed. A great place for a pub lunch or if you’re looking to grab something quick.

I popped in on the way home. I was made to feel very welcome and offered a wide range of beers from the Manager Andy. I conversed in conversation with some regulars whom were entertaining knowledgeable and good fun. The Glentanar was a bit daunting a few years ago but now they really seem to have their act together. they have the Pigs wings in their kitchen now so the food will be on point as the guys at The Pigs Wings are really great at what they do. in summary nice place, good company run by a great guy and to top it of by offering Pigs wings food. The Glentanar is definitely one to visit in the west end.

I must say, the food is better than I expected. They have a kitchen takeover by a local bunch of lads called pigs wings - yum! Great little bar with friendly locals, can’t wait to go back. Well done!

Came across this because they were promoting a "Kitchen Takeover"?? on social media. What a lovely place to visit. Maybe a wee bit traditional and the animal print is questionable, but wow, the food is great. Difficult to describe, but my sub was to die for. Lovely staff and a real welcoming atmosphere, I would definitely recommend a visit, especially if your a visitor to the City and want a local experience.

I went into the Glentanar on Saturday 10th August, 2019 and bought drinks at 1am. By 1.10am the barmaid was screaming at the customers to drink up and leave. She even took glasses out of customers hands. Her behaviour was ridiculous. No bar should service drinks that close to closing time. I presumed they closed at 2am because they served me the drinks at 1am. Anyway my suggestion would be that they don't serve drinks after 12.45am that way customers would have 30min to finish their drinks. I think the behaviour of the barmaid needs to be addressed also. We will all very sober although she spoke to us as if we were drunk.

I wouldn’t even give them one star! Absolutely ridiculous the way the staff were shouting at customers! Shouting at everyone to get out! Pity they haven’t heard of manners and just asked people politely to finish their drinks up. It’s embarrassing to run a company like that! The managers should be appalled that they are employing these people! Snatching peoples drinks is a new level of low!

Cliquey locals bar, if you’re not a regular the bar staff don’t want to know. It’s a great place to drink if you’re thinking of going teetotal. Avoid.

Popped in here for a drink before going out for meal, good selection of beers and spirits. Quick service. Live music on (Saturday night) so place was buzzing. Returned here later in the evening.

Me and my wife love this place. Everytime we visit aberdeen we always drink in here on the friday great live music from the 3 young ones

The Glentaner is worth a visit if your on a night out at this end of Aberdeen, good selection of drinks & sometimes theres a live band which is nice to see

Visited at lunchtime as I heard they were now serving food ,great menu to cater for all tastes ,cook fresh using local suppliers ,very reasonably priced,well stocked bar with friendly attentive staff and great customer service

Just popped in for my lunch with a pal and had a great wee lunch. We went to the small bar at the side but I think it’s the same menu as the big bar. Half portion fish and chips for me and a steak...

We love the Glentanar! We always visit at weekends for their live music and Sunday pub quiz so when we heard they started serving food we had to come and try! The menu has a great choice of Scottish dishes and you can definitely tell...

Hasn't changed in years....which in my opinion is a great thing...
