What a wonderful dining experience. Used a birthday voucher to have Sunday lunch which could not be faulted. Staff were professional and attentive and the restaurant had a cosy peaceful atmosphere. The food was lovely with excellent flavour profiles. The venison ragu tasted fantastic and the roast beef was melt in the mouth with a rich red wine gravy. Presentation of food was beautiful. Mocktails 🍸 just a treat. Who could ask for more. I'll definitely be back to experience more.

The reason I have given this restaurant four stars is not to do with the quality of the food but because they refused to serve us a glass of Prosecco - saying we had to buy a bottle or buy a glass of Cremant - which I don’t like. Given that there were only two of us and my husband doesn’t drink Prosecco I was left with no other choice than to buy something else to drink, which I neither wanted nor enjoyed. We have always gone to this restaurant for special occasions (as do most of our family) because the food and service is usually excellent but I seriously doubt we will ever be back. Maybe someone can explain the rationale behind this …..

The food is generally exceptional. No course or option will ever be poor, some might not be to all tastes but you cannot question the quality. The Roe Deer was unbelievable! I could that dish every day. Pricing a little on the high side on some courses, more so the starters etc than the mains. Staff are super friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Felt some of the basics around time keeping, being prepared and general ‘slickness’ wasn’t quite up there with the best restaurants. That’s a minor point though, on the whole this is a very good high end restaurant. The food is the main reason to go. Would go back but only for special occasions asked on the prices.

Went here for my wife's birthday and had the 6 of the best with wine pairing. What a phenomenal experience, our wine pairing was served by Nicola who was fantastic and has amazing knowledge of the wines and food.

Booked a table during Restaurant Week to celebrate my friend’s big birthday. My first visit, but I won’t be back. Table was beside kitchen door and understairs store cupboard, which was accessed several times. My food was nice, but my friend’s main was under seasoned. She had to request salt and pepper. Out £70 bottle of Chablis was nice.The menu states that the 12.5 % service charge is discretionary. We requested this charge to be removed, as prefer to leave our own tip. This did not go down well. We were definitely whispered about by the staff, who were unaware that a tip had been left.

Enjoyed a really lovely meal here for restaurant week! The servers were all attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and all the flavours completed each other really well. The place had a great atmosphere and was cozy and welcoming :) hope to be back soon!

Came here for Aberdeen restaurant week, great value for excellent food. Service was excellent and attentive. Wine list also very impressive. Would definitely recommend and will be back to sample the full menu

Arrogant service, young staff with little knowledge. Main course great, otherwise ok. Not worth the money. Would not go again. Not at all up to Michelin Guide standards.

Having watched Kevin’s demo at Taste of Garioch last Sunday, we arrived for lunch with great expectations! The Hubster had to have the scallop starter because he’d been tempted since the demo and he loved it, I had the tomato starter which was de-licious, that dressing!! TH had the chicken and I had the seafood for mains which looked small but were in fact very satisfying and very tasty! Oh, I had dessert, the blackcurrent cheesecake….wiped it out…nuff said! I have to mention the service which really impressed us both, Lily and her colleagues were a fine example of well trained staff who tended willingly to our experience, really well done!!

Attended Amuse to celebrate good friends' 40th wedding anniversary. I had the cauliflower soup and the lamb dish - absolutely too notch.

A warm welcome from staff and quickly seated with water and menus. Food was amazing and service was fast. I highly recommend the lamb. A really lovely place for lunch. Will definitely be back.

Hi Kevin, I Really did not want to have to raise this concern complaint having had such good experiences of your restaurant in the past, circa ten times. I booked this table for 6 for my 60th birthday celebration and my sons engagement.at 1300 today. Both starters and main course were excellent as usual. My son recommended the tart to which 4 of us decided to have . Unfortunately we all found the tart dry and the pastery rock hard my son was annoyed that it was so poor after recommending this to us. We raised concern when we were asked what we thought of the deserts and at that stage the waiter went to report this. When I went to pay the bill I was surprised that this item had not been removed. I spoke to a young lad that said he was the manager and he replied in a very condescending way that we had all finished the tart. Thus was not the case. Not really Inpressed with the way that this young man spoke to me I look forward to your response. Regards Dean Berry

Overpriced for an underwhelming experience.

Nipped in for a cheeky wine on the way home after a few friends had recommended, didn’t realise they had a bar section just for drinks! Great atmosphere, service from ‘Mitch’ was nothing short of superb, made us feel welcome, made us laugh, recommended and supplied excellent drinks. Might have found my new favourite wine 🤤 Hoping to get booked in for food in the near future after looking at the menu, Thanks for having us, will 100% be back!

The below review was written last week, and I’m now happy to say that the over charge was reimburses in full: Food was honestly out of this world, but unfortunately the service really let it down. I actually tried to cancel the table but was told that they had staffed up to take our table, but we waited forever for our mains to come and despite asking for a drinks order then we waited another 30 minutes without drinks; meaning we didn’t have a drink with our mains. We were then charged £200 for service, plus additional bottles of wine added to the bill. This was only discovered once we got home out of the country. As I said the food was simply gorgeous!

Arriving at Amuse, as expected... warm welcome and swiftly taken to the table with drinks and specials of the day. Sitting at the back window no issue to me but the sky light needs addressing, also probably best to close the back blinds where the chiller is where you see staff dashing for bottles. Food - flavour was bang on, gnocchetti... oh my days... don't know if I'm bias but that's exactly what the taste buds need! Presentation - dishes were displayed lovely, there was one dish I personally received which was dirty, didn't stop me eating but mentioned to service staff with the note of don't worry, make sure for future guests who may cause a scene! Overall, loved the food!!

I went for dinner with my partner and we were immediately charmed by the restaurant's decor. The service was very helpful and the food was amazing. We haven't eaten such well-composed dishes for a long time. Highly recommended

Superb meal and excellent service. If I have a gripe it is in the juxtaposition of food cooked with excellence and 'Nespresso' coffee..erm...surely some speciality coffee from one of Aberdeenshire's excellent roasters would be a better fit?

Pawel our host/ waiter looked after us very well really nice guy and great knowledge. Lovely guy great job. The mix of flavours and choice of ingredients was top drawer. One comment not against my experience tonight but in general- if you are running a good restaurant don't offer Nespresso coffee. That's my only tiny criticism (and I didn't order coffee) fantastic dining

A bit underwhelming. Had an afternoon to fill and found this restaurant online. We went for Sunday lunch. We had a warm greeting as we entered and were taken to the mezzanine area at the back. Had a wine order taken and received our wine. We then waited for a short while discussing if we were getting to choose off a menu for food, just getting what we were given or if they would eventually bring a menu. This was not communicated. Eventually someone brought us menus. We selected what we wanted and the waiter came over and asked if we were ready to order desserts. Can we have started and mains first? lol. Starters came. Parfait was very nice. Very smooth and a big portion. Crab and Crumpets was actually Crab and Crumpet. Singular. Small. But was ok. Crispy sole was nice but really just a posh fish finger with a bland watery sauce. And bought in chips. Roast beef was quite fatty. And about half was left. Was going to order the chocolate brownie but as we were a bit underwhelmed with a lot of other stuff we decided not to and asked for the bill. Which was wrong. Had to get the waiter to amend it as he was ready with the card machine to charge us too much. Eventually got it sorted. It is a 2/3 course set Sunday lunch menu they do but maybe that’s where the scrimped on quality. Maybe and evening A La Carte would be better. Service was friendly. Decor was nice. Nice artwork. No Amuse-Bouche. Weird.

We were so looking forward to lunch here but it fell very short of our expectations. Although my friend enjoyed her choices of crab with warm crumpets followed by crispy sole, I was not impressed with the vegetarian starter of beetroot and goat’s cheese (edible but uninspiring) or the linguine main course of which I ate only a little as I found it stodgy and very average. The only other vegetarian starter option was leek and potato soup which, as I make this at home, did not seem a tempting option in an up-market restaurant. Perhaps it was just unfortunate that the vegetarian dishes were simply not to my taste, however what was very disappointing was that both of our main courses were served on cold plates and had to be sent back for re-heating. We were also disappointed by the very slow service. We had to ask for someone to come and take our order, and we were certainly not looked after throughout our meal. No-one came to clear up the table which had bread crumbs on it and some spilt wine. We spoke to the manager, Nicola, who was very pleasant and said she would relay our feedback to the chef. For me, the best items on the menu were the delicious warm bread, and the truffles served with the coffee. A pricy restaurant like this really needs do better.

Superb experience, lovely surroundings, combined with good service and fantastic food, easily the best restaurant in Aberdeen.

The food here was insanely nice! The decor and the atmosphere are lovely. If we are ever in Aberdeen again we will be sure to come back to Amuse.

If I could give 10 stars for this restaurant I would! Absolutely wonderful - food, atmosphere, service, you really get what you pay for! Absolutely fell in love with the deep shell inspired plates, I wish I knew where I can get some for home. I will be recommending to friends and would definitely return!

Absolutely brilliant, best restaurant in Aberdeen IMO. A menu to die for, save up and book in.

One of the best places to eat in Aberdeen. Has contemporary takes on Scottish cuisine, friendly and efficient service. Food both very well made with excellent ingredients and presented well.

Delicious Sunday lunch with great service and a relaxed atmosphere

TL;DR Sadly would not recommend Came to dine at Amuse and was disappointed by the food overall, the starters were lovely (would absolutely recommend the pork) but the fish course was disappointing, my partners scallop wasnt cooked, and had only seen a pan on one side, when it was taken away to be "cooked longer" the same scallop that had been cut into was given back, after being tossed about in a pan for a few more minutes. It was chewy and lacked any care. Because of this it was difficult for us to tell if it was bad scallop or bad cooking. On to the mains, my monkfish was delicious and again I'd highly recommend, however the sirloin steak was awful, only cooked one way, seared on both sides, sliced in half, and the rested as long as it took to walk from the kitchen to the table. Not one for leaving negative reviews, but my partner contacted them through their site to leave our feedback to no response, so here we are.

We went in for some Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed. The portion sizes were very generous and not overly expensive. The crab lasagne was the highlight. We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous cuisine and chill jazz ambience at Amuse. Enjoyed the Snug prior to our meal, and loved our fine dining date night!

Went for Sunday roast. The roast beef was disappointing. Didn’t have much flavour. It’s was tender but flavourless. Loved the pate. Fantastic service.

Disappointing I had high hopes of a lovely Sunday lunch there was little choice on the menu.

Having visited Amuse on a number of occasions I have always been impressed with the food. However the service is a series of highs and lows depending on the visit. Albeit Nicola, (I think her name is), has always been very helpful and courteous. I don’t like writing reviews and had no intention of doing so, instead I contacted management at Amuse directly to provide some helpful feedback. When booking for this particular special occasion (6 weeks in advance) I had chosen the “dining” option but for the second visit in a row had been sat at a table between the bar and entrance door. To me this area is “bar” and not “restaurant”. Nicola moved us when we asked, but for the second time this was done instantly suggesting other tables had been available on our arrival. By this time we had been there half an hour and had still not been provided with a food menu. I contacted the restaurant because I wanted to explain that my earlier experiences at Amuse were much more positive and when someone pre books they would expect to be in the restaurant and perhaps the bar should be saved for walk ins. The manager was beyond defensive and abusive and commented “well somebody has to sit there”. He refused to listen to my feedback and was immediately confrontational. Despite me trying to diffuse this, the phone call culminated with me being told to “never f***ing come back to the restaurant again” and then him hanging up. Safe to say I won’t be returning, and I can’t imagine that anyone else I know will be either. Even if the manager disagreed with my comments he could have politely listened and said he would take them on board, he then would have been free to disregard them. Being aggressive and abusive was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. Not only was the whole phone call upsetting, it actually felt intimidating. Absolutely not appropriate for any establishment, never mind a restaurant of this calibre. Maybe now living in previous kudos.

Was here for the 1 year celebration and had an absolute riot. Food and service were excellent. Initial doubts about the host couldn't have been further from the entertaining reality. Great establishment where everyone from the kitchen to the front of house staff really buy into making it a success.

Not cheap but generous portions and excellent food. Service was friendly and attentive and the music and decor was attractive. Overall a very pleasant experience. Highly recommend if you don't mind a bill of around £160 for two.

Friendly staff, excellent food. A little disappointed in the bar selection, the Scottish rum they had on the drinks menu was out of stock and the choice of decent blended whisky was poor.

The food was sublime and they could not be more accommodating for gluten free (all the courses had multiple options, only minor substitutions and gluten free bread available). One option for every course for vegetarian. Desserts were particularly delicious. Staff were stellar, attentive without being cloying. Quite expensive (espy the drinks) but worth it

Just a little expensive for what you get.

Fabulous food, full of flavour and excellent presentation, perfect service , nice ambience, had a wonderful evening. Took one star off because wine price over the top. Do not mind subsidizing the business through large margins on drinks but charging £60 for an off the shelf bottle of Sauvignon Blanc is excessive.

Outstanding. Great to see a restaurant of this quality in Aberdeen. Had dinner last night and can’t fault a single thing about it. The pavlova is one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten.

Exceptional food and very high quality service. I’d say one of the best dining experiences in Aberdeen. They know how to charge ( anything that ends up on your table will be on your bill) but it’s absolutely worth it.

Experienced Amuse for the first time at the weekend. I was a bit disappointed by my experience. Our table was booked for 7:30pm, we sat and had a cocktail and ordered a starter, fish course, and a main. The cocktails were amazing. The starter came pretty quickly and followed by the fish course. We then had an 1hr 15 minute wait and didn't get our main course until 9:30pm. The waitress came with a complementary glass of fizz for our wait, however as it had been 2 hours we were almost finished our bottle of wine. It would have been nice to have been asked what we would have liked to drink to complement the main. We were then given the bill which had a £25 service charge on it, the waitress told us that she had thought about taking it off due to our poor service but didn't... The food was nice, only criticism is the main I had to wait ages for was lacking seasoning.

Great atmosphere, but really disappointed in the meal. The pate was not set, both main courses were watery and somewhat tasteless, and service was just Ok. Had wanted to go for dinner, but in this showing despite a £120 bill glad we couldn’t get a table. Really disappointed. Sorry to leave a review like this.

Came for Sunday lunch, presentation was shear art whilst portions were still filling. Staff were more than happy to make us feel as comfortable as possible and the cocktails were fantastic. Highly recommended!

Food was ok but service felt very rushed. Most importantly we came celebrating wife birthday and they completely forgot about it. Still quite a long way getting Michelin star With this service!

The food was nice but portion size left a lot to be desired, no vegetables and pricey. Cheapest bottle of wine around £35.00. Good for a special occassion but not for the average night out. Watch out for the 12.5 percent service charge.

Food presentation excellent. Service good. Very noisy, dining tables very close together. Would have preferred a quieter area to dine and enjoy our dinner.

Wow. Absolutely amazing experience. We were part of a 40th birthday party celebration and having 19 of us to serve I thought would be a challenge. However our server was absolutely amazing. So professional and attentive. The food was sublime. What a great addition to Aberdeen.

I'm probably being a little harsh and will give place a second visit. Can't fault food it was delicious. My two main issues were it was busy we weren't spaced out and being in a basement I found it noisy . I asked for my gravy to be separate which it wasn't so had to be sent back which leads me to next issue my food was not as hot as I would gave liked which makes me think it had been lying . My other two dining companions had no complaints. But two of us were a little disappointed.

Been at Christmas Dinner from work. Enjoyed my meals, especially fell in love with pink grapefruit Panna Cotta 😋Highly recommend 👌

It was super delicious, service was terrific and it was definitely worth the money. However, the skate was quite bad, it had a strong taste of ammonia.

Great experience from the outset. Booking was easy and well handled, we were warmly greeted on arrival and offered the choice of drinks in the bar or at the table and the setting is superb. The food was incredible. A Mushroom Risotto starter and special of Halibut were both excellent, though the mash was cool bordering on cold. Service throughout the meal was attentive without feeling crowded. Highly recommended.

2nd visit and same high standard maintained. Venison tagliatelle was a real treat!

From start to finish we had a great evening....dogs included. The food was sensational and the service was spot on. An added bonus with Kevin coming to say hello. This is exactly what Aberdeen needed. Can't wait to go back !

Truly outstanding meal at Amuse. The team are so welcoming and service was very professional but relaxed at the same time. Cocktails are inventive and superb. Everything we were served was 10/10 (apart from the monkfish...... maybe 11/10 ). Top quality local produce treated with skill and respect. Couldn't ask for more.

There is nothing like this in Aberdeen. Super laid back atmosphere, yet with a great buzz about it. Staff super attentive and friendly - a breath of fresh air to be honest. As for the food, simply superb!! Beetroot starter to send the taste buds spiralling; unusual, yet spectacular, langoustine with curry sauce; then onto a t-rex sized flavoursome monkfish tail dish that has already been all over social media and finished off with an OMG chocolate mousse (half thought of taking the bowl home to lick clean!).

Amazing place, amazing food and atmosphere cocktails out of this world and service just perfect
