Everything was good about this visit. A warm welcome on booking and arrival. A couple of excellent real ales and lovely food served quickly.
The inn was pretty busy for a Monday in May so booking would be recommended.
In the area for a few days and popped into The Anglers for lunch. Beautiful entrance and restaurant well appointed, beautifully decorated and pristine. Warm welcome from the staff who were very attentive. Very appealing menu to cater for all tastes. Food fantastic and plentiful. Reasonable prices for the quality on offer. Toilets immaculate. Cannot recommend this place highly enough and would visit again if in the area. Superb!
Absolutely fabulous food and service. 😍 We decided against going to the 'Indian' restaurant in Peebles due to its horrendous reviews. 😱 If you are nearby you must try this one instead. (sit in or takeaway). It was one of the best, if not the best, Indian meals we have had. 😋 We had poppadoms, a mixed sharing platter, two tasty curries, a nan bread and pilau rice. With drinks it cost us only £60. The owner & staff were friendly and subtly attentive sharing local knowledge of attractions and events after our meal. 😁 A lovely & honest family business worth supporting. 😎
Popped in for late lunch and all four of us were happy with the hearty, home made food of seriously generous proportions! Very welcoming with a nicely thought out dog friendly section as you walk in, our Border Collie was fussed over by all the staff too. Definitely recommend and hope to be back soon!
Lovely meal, had a prawn cocktail, steak fajitas and a strawberry soft meringue roulade. All spot on. The main bar was in good spirits, but for quiet meals the separate dinning room is a nice contrast. Lastly the service, really good, friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend.
Fabulous Cozy and Welcoming With exceptional food. Lovely ambience - the chicken skewers with curry were to die for. Reasonably priced with a menu to cater for all tastes.
This is such an atmospheric place. The Snug is where Robbie Burns would sit with friends. It is small with dark wood panelling, very cosy for a pre dinner drink. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it, again dark but cosy. The food was amazing. We had delicious canapés, gorgeous bread with flavoured bitters, and an exquisite amuse bouche. I then had sea bass to start and my husband had John Dory. The flavours were fabulous. My husband couldn't decide between the halibut or guinea fowl so the chef kindly cooked both! My main course was cauliflower and miso pasta with artichokes. Everything was delicious, presented beautifully and served by the friendly, knowledgeable and professional front of house team. Unfortunately, we couldn't manage dessert. The wines we chose were perfect. An amazing experience, thank you.
Only one word to describe here, OUTSTANDING.
As a vegetarian, breakfasts in cafes are some time disappointing. Not here, by far the best breakfast I've had, it was amazing. And my colleagues found there not veggie breakfast to be prefect too.
The service & staff is brilliant, couldn't fault anything.
I have been here on numerous occasions when visiting this part of Scotland, I have written a review about Loch Arthur before, but do you know what, when a place is good then why not praise it again.
As usual the cafe and shop are well organised with plenty of freshly made foods as well as freshly home grown vegetables and fruit, not forgetting the locally handcrafted goods. The whole place is immaculately clean. The cafe serves amazing home cooked food, do try their soups, they are just scrumptious. The staff whether in the cafe or shop are courteous, smiling, friendly and willing to help. Too good to be true, NO, this place is amazing, if I were able, I would move near there to be able to go more often.

What a wonderful place! High quality home made food, delicious coffee and friendly welcoming staff. There is a wee shop selling everyday provisions and lovely gifts. A beautiful building and grounds with a perfect vista of the harbour and sea. Spotless toilets. Would highly recommend and hope the community are extremely proud of their resource.
