Quite disappointed to go there and realised that it is a chinese fish shop and takeaway not what was show in pictures. Please don’t go by the super review prior to mine as there us a change in management or something.
This was to be our one night of “luxurious accommodation” after touring for 10 days in b&b’s. Turns out that the b&b’s were the luxury (Water’s Edge Cottage on Loch Lomond, Heatherfield House on Skye and Springfield Lodge in Stirling, all superb 5*).
Paid £229.50 for one night back in March for a Superior double room, which now looks nothing like the current photo on the web site.
Old fashioned especially the bathroom, room overlooked the loch but through a small window you needed to be standing up to see through. Decided not to eat here so it was fish and chips in the car in Fort Augustus.
Much more expensive than the rest so our verdict was “very “disappointing” and a poor choice. Wine by the bottle not the glass!
As we were in Ardersier we decided to pop in for lunch. The menu isn't huge but it doesn't have to be, it catered for all our tastes, some of which are more difficult than others.
We found the service was very good, very attentive and helpful staff. The food didn't take long to arrive and we'd had quite contrasting options, a vegetable curry and baked potatoes. No complaints about the portions and the food was very good.
Certainly worth a visit if you're in the area or have been to Fort George.
After a long day of travel and wanting sustenance of a vegan variety, my daughter found this site listed and off we went. It was an amazing little restaurant down an alley and we sat outside in the nippy weather served by the charming staff. I had the "fish" and chips and it was delicious jack fruit with a layer of nori coated in crumbs and fried perfectly. My daughter had the lasanga and though we were warned not to get more...we did...and couldn't eat it all. We would gladly returne but were told that they were losing their chef and would close. I saw their site still listed here so decided to post a review hoping that others can and will enjoy this restaurant.
A really large group of us with kids booked in for a late lunch. The menu options were comforting pub grub style which were great for everyone. We were well looked after by the lovely staff were lovely and it was very reasonably priced.
We went to the café twice as on arrival we were ready for a cuppa and enjoyed lovely brownie, blondie and coconut slice. At lunch we enjoyed Lorne sausage sandwiches and salmon panini. The coffee and tea were very good quality too and the prices were very reasonable..
We were driving from Skye to Fort William and wanted to stop for lunch on a Sunday , in which many places were closed. I went on TripAdvisor and this pub was open.
Authentic, cosy pub with a water view.
Food was great, the Cullen skink soup delicious, as well as the fish + chips and the Pot pie. Great location too.
We’ve visited Sounds Bites twice during our week in Camusdarrach.
The cafe is independently owned and is the perfect place to stop in and refuel!
We were made to feel so welcome by the team, nothing was too much trouble. Our little dog enjoyed his prime position at the upstairs window, watching the street below.
We enjoyed soup, toasties and lattes! The lentil soup was truly delicious - I wish I could make soup like it!
If you are in Arisaig, stop by and try it, you won’t be disappointed!
Just visited this lovely pub/restaurant with friends who live locally. Rob & Ang made us feel so welcome. The food was excellent, highly recommend this place to go
We were looking a place for dinner and luckely we found this restaurant. We were sitting next to the fire with a drink while choosing our meals - lovely. The meals we got offered were great! Well prepared, special in combination and from high quality. The friendly staff and the performance of the chef can be assessed only as very very good.
Regular lunch/coffee stop when we’re in the area. Great food, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Good community hub and the gift shop is stocked with nice items too.
