Love the refurb they have done to the shop and also the outside seating area. Owners are always looking at ways to update and keep up to date with speed off service. Pre covid you waited in the cafe however the set up now order in shop and then your number is called is so quick. I was well impressed. I travel from Inverness but always stop , so many places need to take a leaf out off the couple who run this and step up their game .
A gold mine . Well done
Well, what can I say. Stayed here for two nights to attend a funeral. I knew it was going to be great when, arriving at 22 45, Kieron welcomed me and I climbed the stairs to my single room…..and the floors creaked. Allways a good sign of an excellent hotel when the floors do that, never failed me. Fantastic little room, attention to detail was superb. Breakfast was out of this world, skillfully prepared and beautifully presented. I didnt need lunch…….. Superb “wake” served for around 30 people , amazing soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee and chocolate pudding to die for, so light and guilt free ! Meal in the bistro for me, two cousins and my 9? year old Aunty after the wake.Ina could not have been more attentive. Enjoy this couples excellent service while you can, retirement beckons for them after 23 years !
Family of 8 ordered pizza & collected it last night. Ready half an hour after ordering. Food was really nice. Thoroughly recommend pizzas from here if you’re having a night in.
What a great little shop , fresh homebaked sausage rolls, homebaked cakes-delicious.Really the best sausage roll i have had! Great value too.All sorts of nice produce in stock.Locals should and im sure they do consider themselves fortunate to have such a place nearby!
This place was one of our favourite holiday ‘finds’ after meandering along the long, beautiful road from Glenelg, not knowing what was at the end (our favourite past time). That was 8 years ago and we discovered the best home-made salmon quiche I’ve ever tasted set in tiny area of eclectic seating with the local fauna sitting at your feet, all set with a stunning backdrop. Everything about it felt home-made in its genuine sense- like a reward for travellers rather than a cafe. We felt we’d found the world’s best kept secret.. So we returned. All just as beautiful and the food just as delicious, just with a place to sit inside if the clouds let go. So glad Sheena’s is going strong.
We stayed overnight in the B&B, and had the hairy coo themed afternoon tea. If you book an overnight stay, you get a private talk and opportunity to hand feed the coos in the morning. The food was delicious, it would never have occurred to me to make a toasted sandwich with french toast - an absolute revelation. We also opted for the full Scottish breakfast and it was delicious. This is a cosy family run business thats very welcoming. I would definitely go back. Make sure you book if you’re going peak season - we went the first weekend of their being open and it was steady traffic even during the off peak.
Our second visit to the cafe and it was just as good as the first. Messaged on Facebook before we went and received a very quick reply. It was open for takeaway only so the tea room's tables were removed, creating plenty of space to move around in. A wide selection of food available for mid-morning on a Tuesday, including a great selection of cakes. Gluten free cake option available, as well as a range of cakes. We had four different ones between us and each one was, just delicious!
What a fantastic find on Skye. We called in for a coffee in the morning, which was very good. After exploring the area for a few hours, beyond the cafe, I suggested to my husband we call in for a bite for lunch as there was not much else open between this place, and going to the Nest Lighthouse.
We enjoyed the Quiche and salad, and a delicious piece of home baked slide.
A delightful setting and with the sunny day, it was fabulous to sit outside the Yurt and in the garden, enjoying the scenery.
Fabulous, friendly service too, and value for money, i.e. not expecting save for the coffee, slices or meal.
The power of Trip Advisor! This hidden gem is difficult to find and to be honest doesn’t look anything from the outside.
But it is definitely worth going in. It was the first time we had eaten Keralan food so we asked the waitress what she would recommend. She was great with her recommendations. We had a Dosa to share to start with then a fish curry and lamb curry with rice and bread for mains. Everything was delicious.
Do try it. It’s fabulous
Fantastic brunch, arrived during a very bust spell, staff stayed cheerful and friendly and we got seated within 10 mins, I had Turkish egg and they were very good and very spice, Hubby had the black pudding skillet he said it was very good again something was spicy, the sourdough bread was a star.
We also had a sweet treat each, myself a black forest doughnut this was amazing and hubby on the recommendation of another customer had the carrot cake this was also amazing we both also had a coffee each.
I definitely recommend rain, for friendly staff, delicious well priced food and lovely atmosphere.
Lucky to find that dinner was available on one of the nights. The meal was excellent. Extremely well cooked, presented and served. Don't miss the opportunity to eat there if you can. Elaine is a great cook/chef.
