If I lived in Nairn, this would be my go-to café every day. The freshly made food is extremely tasty and the selection is extensive. The naturally endearing charisma of the owner, and her staff, add an extra satisfying portion of decadent spice. High streets everywhere need a place like this..

Visiting Nairn today and found this lovely little cafe on the high street. Absolutely delicious home cooking, freshly made scones, great tea and coffee and all served by two happy and delightful young ladies. Thank you.

This cafe was an excellent find for us. I asked for scrambled egg on toast and soup of the day (boring, you’d think); my better-half-by-far ordered a bacon, brie and cranberry toastie. All the food was way above my expectations for a late morning snack and despite its deliciousness neither of us could finish. This is not a ‘greasy spoon’ cafe. The food quality was only surpassed by the friendliness of the staff and the value for money.

What a delightful find, great service, the lady in the back who cooks has a lovely variety of music playing, providing a nice friendly atmosphere. Fabulous breakfast, very generous portions, lovely huge choice of sandwiches, with soup and a few other meals. Plus, there is a scheme here, where you can donate a coffee/tea to someone less fortunate. It’s called POST IT. Great great place, I shall become a regular. Well done girls.

When I think of homely food, this is what comes to mind. Wendy's Hooose - run by, you guessed it, Wendy - is more than just a café. It's a community hub, well-loved by locals and travellers alike. I feel privileged to have gone a handful of times, half of which were for Wendy's home-baked brownies and cakes alone. For coffee lovers, Wendy has a bespoke coffee from Inverness Coffee Co. which is worth trying. If you're looking for a brunch, the Scottish breakfast is my go-to, and my partner recommends the chicken pesto panini. Everything is freshly prepared on the daily, so this is about as local as it gets! The walls are adored with artwork by local creatives which can be purchased. Supporting local is not only important, but essential, so be sure to stop by for a nibble, and say hello to Wendy and her super friendly team of staff!

Two baked potatoes, both piled high with lovely filling, tasty side-salad and decent coffee. And all this late in the afternoon when no-where else in town could be bothered. Thanks so much.

Bought a tuna mayo sandwich and brownie to go - came to just under £10. Too expensive in my opinion The sandwich didn't taste like either tuna or mayo, just a thick, salty grey mush. Felt sick after half of it, sickness lasted for hours. Also came with far too much coslaw/salad which made the bread soggy. Brownie was OK, large portion but became overpoweringly sweet after a while. Personally won't be going back.

Lovely carrot cake that was demolished. I was even offered the choice of frosting. Collected on a busy Saturday but was ready in good time.

Stopped in for a light lunch if toasties, which were delicious. Great accompaniment of salad, coleslaw and crisps. Salad dressing was amazing. Followed by the lightest homemade Custard Cream we’ve ever had. Wendy was a delightful hostess and the sound track coming from the kitchen was spot on. A totally feel good experience, thank you.

This unassuming cafe serves lovely coffee, fantastic scotch pancakes and beautiful cakes. Stopped here just by chance. Was looking for a cake and coffee. Noticed they were doing pancakes. Nutella is my favourite. Could have had cream and some fruit on it if I wanted but thought as I was in Nairn for some fish and chips later would hold off on the extras. Had a hazelnut latte as well which had plenty of syrup in it and the coffee itself was strong and flavoursome. My daughter had a mint tea and a biscoff cake slice. It was such a large cake and lovely flavour.

Most friendly, relaxed wee cafe. My wee fella loves it especially when he gets to draw on the windows with coloured pens. A hidden gem in Nairn that will get more and more popular.

Visited Annie’s bakery whilst visiting up visiting family in Thurso. Amazing value for money alongside fabulous savouries and sweets. So much time and effort put into each. Transported plenty of goodies home to North Yorkshire, we will be back!! ☺️

We had some really delicious cake and tea. I would definitely recommend the banana chocolate cake and the apple caramel cake. The service was really nice and I would definitely stop there again.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.

Food was nice and service was, for the most part, friendly. One server seemed to be having a bad day. Brusque and barely civil. Very expensive for what was served.

We stayed at Taigh Ailean for our trip to Skye. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner there (Breakfast was included with our stay.) The dinner was so delicious! The view is lovely as you can see the loch from the windows of the bar. All the staff is fantastic and so friendly! I had a great dinner and I would describe it, but the menu changes to suit what is in season and available from the sea. Whatever you get, I guarantee it will be the best! Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation as it fills up quickly. I know that they also have live music, which would be great, but we didn't have any while we were there.
