As the first and only La Casa Del Habano in Scotland, this place is certainly special. Aside from the incredible food, the plethora of drinks and spirits, this destination spot has one of the most beautiful humidors I have seen. This isn't just because of the decor and presentation; it's also because it's full of some of my all-time favorite cigars. The selection is something to truly admire. Not to mention the staff—what a lovely team of people who have always made my trip memorable and enjoyable.

On a recent family trip to Scotland, I had heard about this place as it is a cigar and whisky lounge with a hidden secret - the tasting menu! It's a 7 course treat for the palette - with Chef Attila working his magic. Now, I like a good meal - but this totally blew me away, I was certainly not prepared for what I was presented. Attila who has learnt his craft in various kitchens around the world, and some of them Michelin star greats, has honed his skills and produced some incredible feats and culinary masterpieces. Each dish is meticulously prepared, and the various pairing of wine or cocktail makes the perfect combination. (See the photos!). Your taste buds well be taken on a journey that you will remember, from subtle combinations of Sea trout and row across to bold flavours of BBQ rock oysters with a chili martini. This is an experience you want to relax into and not rush. You'll spend about 3 hours as Declan and his team take you on this deliteful culinary journey. I'd advise you book ahead to ensure you get to experience the magic.. I don't expect it'll be to long before Attila gets his own Michelin star - It's well deserved in recognition of his skill - so get yourself along to the Puffin rooms beforehand and experience

We truly enjoyed this place! We wanted to go some where we could enjoy good whiskys and delicious food, but most importantly, have a nice cigar to top off the night. We were blown away with the hospitality and the ambiance of this place. Special thanks to Mitchell and his staff for providing us with an incredible experience! I cant wait to go back there again the next time we visit Edinburgh.

Business took me to Edinburgh in late April. For my dinner, I sought out the Puffin Rooms and I thought I might have a cigar too. The 15min walk from my hotel was absolutely worth it. The menu is very interested with some really good food, and they easily catered for my gluten free requirement. It's not so much divided in to starters and mains, it's almost tapas in that the individual dishes aren't huge, so you can have a selection if you want. And the dishes I had were excellent, particularly the Wagyu beef. After a cocktail and a glass or wine or two, I ventured out to the terrace and indulged in a cuban cigar; the opportunity to sit and smoke a cigar for an hour being heated by the infra-red lamps just finished the evening off nicely. All told, a great evening out, very welcoming with good food and drink. Definitely recommend whether you're a cigar smoker or not!

Another visit to the Puffin Rooms Edinburgh, this time with guests from Germany who on feedback of their tour in Edinburgh rated this as one of their highlights. Comfortable furnishings and surroundings, friendly professional service. Definitely a go to establishment when in around the capital. Highly recommended.

Had a really lovely afternoon at the Puffin Rooms Edinburgh. I’ve been wanting to go for a while and had the opportunity to go today for a cigar, coffee and a couple of Cognacs while reading a paper. The staff were all very professional, friendly and attentive from the outset. The Humidor is absolutely top class with the host offering advice and guidance that would support a novice and assist a seasoned cigar fan looking for a new recommendation. The setting is lovely, with a well heated and covered external smoking area that takes the very well appointed indoors into an outdoor cigar area, with comfortable sofas. The manager introduced himself and made me feel very welcome, letting me know about the tasting events that they are hosting. This is a must go location for Scottish cigar fans who don’t want to rough it for the 6 (11?) months of the year when it’s virtually impossible to enjoy a cigar outdoors. Great service, Cigars, Drinks selection and setting. Will be back…I would heartily recommend that you give it a try.

Beautiful meal, lovely wine and very attentive staff, a 10 out of 10 experience. The live music made the experience extra special. Only slight issue is if you want to have a cigar afterwards in the terrace it cannot be one of your own cigars, it has to be a Cuban cigar purchase from the bar shop. I think that policy needs a rethink tbh.

This is a wee bit of heaven in the already blooming Quarter Mile in Edinburgh. I was there for a wine tasting & cigar pairing evening but have been there before with my wife on Christmas Eve after my son recommended it to me. If you like a lovely glass of vino, delicious food, a smooth cigar or all three, you will not be disappointed. The ambience in the outdoor puffin’ areas was on point; comfortable, warm, great music & atmospheric. The staff are courteous, knowledgeable and engaging, & they went above and beyond for us. This is a perfect place to hang out, meet new people, go with your friends &/or partner, colleagues and clients alike even if you don’t smoke. Can’t wait to go back. Superb.

I’ve been looking around Edinburgh for a venue where you can socialise and have a cigar, what a find this place is. I have now been there twice in the last week, yesterday I attended a cigar/wine tasting evening. Excellent cigar choices, (not a wine drinker unfortunately) great canopies and attentive and friendly staff. A very enjoyable evening, I’ll be back there again soon as their cigar terrace is comfortable with great seating and plenty of heaters. Would highly recommend.

One of Edinburgh’s best kept secrets. Not just for cigar lovers - great wine, whisky, cocktail selection. And I live the charcuterie and cheese boards. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Or an evening - especially when live music on. Become our ‘go to ‘ place!

Edinburgh now proudly hosts a haven for cigar aficionados – a much-awaited addition to the city's scene. As a longtime admirer of the Liverpool Puffin' Rooms, I am thrilled to see this esteemed brand make its mark in Edinburgh. The culinary experience here is exceptional, complemented by an impressive array of drinks. But the real gem for me is the stunning humidor. It's not just a visual delight; it's a carefully curated collection of my personal favorites, ranging from affordably priced Cuban cigars to the more luxurious, high-end selections. It's important to note that this humidor is an exclusive LCDH (La Casa del Habano) spot, offering only Cuban cigars. This suits my preferences perfectly. So, whenever you're in Edinburgh, there's a high chance you'll spot me enjoying a Montecristo No. 2, my cigar of choice.

We attended on Saturday evening. My friend is a seasoned cigar smoker and very knowledgeable, I’m more of a novice but this place catered for both of us perfectly. The bar area has a nice chilled atmosphere and sleek look. The smoking area is cosy and classy and very comfortable to sit and relax in for hours. They have a solid range of whisky and gins and the service was impeccable. We ordered a couple of beers, but staff advised they weren’t perfectly chilled and provide another recommendation. The service was very attentive but not over bearing at all. Harry the cigar guru, was fantastic and provided us with a really personable service and gave us some great recommendations on what to smoke. The humidor is stunning and is well stocked with Cuban cigars. Sadly no new world (licensing reasons) but Harry has a phenomenal knowledge of cigars to suit every flavour profile and gave solid and informed advice. A fantastic place that really stands out in the Edinburgh bar scene, a hidden gem and we’ll definitely be back. If you enjoy a cigar and relaxed drink you can’t do better than this place. Price wise it’s reasonable and in line with the service and quality you receive. Only advice to improve would be better booking system online as only seem to be able to do that for Liverpool and not Edinburgh. Love this place!

Discovered puffin rooms through a friend and it is one of the best experiences I have had in recent months. 1st the bar itself is stunning, it looks amazing blending old and new and once your go inside you get to see a brilliant humidor with also a brilliant whisky store as well. Once you sit down you then get to experience the amazing service and selection on offer. We were looked after by Harry and his knowledge over whisky and cigars is brilliant. We were looked after all night and never felt like too much trouble. For all those cigar smokers the set up outside is comfortable, spacious and delivers exactly what you would wish for. Overall thank you Harry and the The Puffin Rooms, I am new fan and will be back

Visited the Puffin Rooms as my husband and brother in law are big cigar fans. Wasn’t sure what to expect as my sister and I are not. Overall it was a fantastic experience, the place was lovely and we had our own little corner to have dinner. The food was absolutely fantastic and the staff were all so nice and welcoming, they couldn’t do enough for us. We then sat out on the cigar terrace which was heated and had a very relaxing ambiance. The cocktails were also very very good! The dessert chocolate mousse that looked like a cigar was amazing!

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.
