Café Lavender in Highland

We read about this cafe (somewhere) and thought it warranted a visit. How right we were. The weather was fine so we were able to sit outdoors to enjoy our frankfurters and fine German lager. The meal was excellent, the lager even better and the service was perfect. Needless to say, we were more than pleased with the whole experience. The menu might be slightly limited but only because the items on offer are so well prepared that less is more. And the service was attentive without being overbearing. A great place for 2 ex-Canadians to take a break from the streets of Nairn. If you're in the area make sure you find time to visit.

Delightful German couple run this lovely homely café. On entering there was an aroma of freshly baked plum cake/streusel which was delicious. Good selection of loose leaf teas. Salad good. Very clean. Wish I were local!

During last summer, i thought this place was someone's house where they got set up outside in the beautiful garden to make the most out of life. I later found out it was a cafe, and my soul really dug the place's vibe. This is a beautiful spot, with quality staff. People who have such big hearts and i felt really good going here for coffee on a Monday. Also the cakes are homemade gems, absolutely beautiful. The man Andreas is something, a rather likable character, quite humerous and charming. Dont let him fool you however, it's Anika his wife who is the mastermind behind it all 😉 10/10 from me. Go and have yourself an experience peeps Especially during summer! Get yourself a seat out in the lavender sown garden.

Lovely lunch today. Delighted to find this special place! Nice to hear German being spoken too! My husband's late father was from Hannover, so Lavender in Scotland is special to us. So looking forward to going again in the Christmas season, to have some Stollen and Mulled wineby thefire. We highly recommend.

Looking for a place to have some lunch we visited this cafe, and what a pleasant find it was! Staff are very friendly and engaging, and it was so nice to find they serve lovely authentic German food and cakes! I would happily come back next time I am visiting Nairn. Do yourself a favour and give them a visit!

We had the most delicious pumpkin soup and roast beef with bread, plus two lovely slices of cake. Great vibe, lovely decor.

Really nice garden cafe for lunch. Delicious food and very friendly, efficient service. A real plus having a cafe like this in Nairn. Coffee and cakes home made and excellent quality.

The perfect place to be creative, reflect, discuss, and be inspired. Sometimes it is best to have creative brainstorming sessions in a different setting: Having a stroll along our beach and then gather at Café Lavender - the perfect place to get creative and enjoy a coffee at the same time. Did I mention their cakes are amazing? And their savory choices are thoroughly enjoyed by many too. The staff is always friendly, the decor simply inspiring, and their garden is a haven to enjoy our Scottish summer. What else could one ask for?

Staff as wonderful as the food. Stayed 5 nights & had afternoon tea one of the days. Excellent. Beautiful place. Had choice of sitting in or in their lovely gardens. Staff go above & beyond. A thoroughly positive & enjoyable experience.

We had lunch and cake here. The owners very helpful and friendly. When we went, they were doing seasonal white asparagus soup. I did find the breakfast roll for vegan rather pricy for what was. But otherwise, this place is a nice find.

We stopped off and got a table outside with our dog. Andreas was very chatty and friendly and his new parasols for the garden are lovely. Great pea soup with German sausage and lovely traditional cakes. I also tried the chocolate flavoured tea - so good i bought some and took it home.

A great addition to Nairn! We have visited this lovely wee Cafe several times since it opened this summer for take-away coffee and cakes. The cakes are amazing - authentic German (or Austrian) favourites like baked cheesecake and Sachertorte or freshly bakes pretzels and rolls if you prefer something savoury. If you're lucky enough to visit on a sunny day, there is a peaceful garden to enjoy your food al fresco - the tables are all well spaced out. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back for more cake :-)

First visit to this lovely cafe, will definitely go back. Coffee was excellent, full bodied taste and the cake was so tasty, a sherry and almond cake. The staff were very friendly and felt very safe. Well organised with safety regulations for Covid. Well done for opening this cafe in Nairn.

First time in Nairn and found out about this little gem after searching tripadvisor. I was keen to visit the German cafe as I spent 15 years as a military dependant living in Germany. I have fond memories of Kaffee und kuchen and was desperate to recreate the experience. Wow..it was worth the wait I ordered the Black Forrest gateau and my husband had the apple strudel along with delicious coffe. Both were delectable..my gateau was deliciously moist and flavoursome. We loved our cakes so much we decided to order take out...with the added bonus of 50% off as it was 5 o'clock (tues only). We ordered pretzels, ham roll and another almond cake with a cream filling...again absolutely delicious. I really cant recommend this cafe highly enough and I wish the owners all the luck in the world with their venture which I'm sure will be a great success. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

I loved this delightfully, quaint cafe. It was my first time visiting Inverness and Cafe Lavender was definitely one of the highlights of my trip! They have an extensive list of teas and coffees on offer, I thoroughly enjoyed my first bratwurst and the cakes were delicious. Gorgeous settings - both the garden and building, the service was great and the owners Andreas and Anika are most charming hosts. Will most certainly be back!!

I loved it here today! Beautiful little garden cafe with gazebos and comfy chairs....lovely food, the hot chocolate was superb and the apple strudel was beautiful! Staff are lovely too.... I will definitely be back.

I have now visited this venue several times. The coffee and cakes are excellent as is the warm welcome always given. You can sit inside or outside in the garden. There is a lovely ambience and I have thoroughly enjoyed every visit. Would highly recommend.
