We went here for lunch after a walk. We had a dog with us and we knew the place was dog friendly. Never mind dog friendly: all-round friendly. The service was excellent and pleasantly chatty. The food was great, which was just as well because the portions were huge. I had half a portion of chili nachos with a side of chips. Even the half portion, after a walk on the beach, was more than I could eat and I was tempted to hire a room for a post prandial nap. It's a bit hidden from the A96, so best to get sat nav directions.

Hi, the papadoms and the chutneys were lovely, the mint yog was yellow with no mint flavour…strange. The lime pickle was incredible. One of my favourite dishes is butter chicken. I haven’t had a proper one in such a long time. I was very disappointed with what has arrived to the table here. Butter chicken was more like a korma and clearly a tandoori chicken breast had been sliced and mixed through. Jaipuri, it was better than the chicken. Saag panner was lacking spices big time and it was luke warm. The man breads was the best part of the dish. 5star We will not be returning, the search goes on.

This food was absolutely horrific. Never ever order from here. We asked to return the food so we could claim a refund and they refused to give us a full refund. The staff were unbelievably rude. This is a horrible place and you should stay well clear. I will continue to post reviews and feedback on how awful this was until I receive my refund.

Stayed for one night, as a couple, on 31/12/24. Checked in and was advised there was to be a Hogmanay party at the hotel that night. This was the first time we'd been informed. We went out for a meal and onto our own function in Nairn. We returned at 2am and the party still seemed to be ongoing. Around 3am pandemonium broke out with screaming shouting, banging doors, people running around outside our room and in the room above us, similar with furniture scraping across the floor constant running and slamming doors. We knew it was Hogmanay but this was out of hand. On repeatedly phoning reception and sending messages there was no response. By 345am it was getting worse and again no response was had to repeated calls. We eventually managed some form of sleep by about 530am. On check out a waitress asked if we wanted breakfast and we said we were too tired and going home and wanted to make a complaint. She said she'd let the manager know. No manager came, no response has been had to numerous calls and messages on landlines and mobile and they are clearly avoiding acceptance of any responsibility. Regardless of any specific event or night it may have been, the experience was awful to endure and the non response by the property speaks volumes of how much they care about their guests.....still trying to get a response from them 8 days later, not holding my breath!!!

We decided to eat a light meal at the Muthu Newton Hotel as we had traveled all night to get here. The Chaplin theme of the restaurant is really pleasant. Also, the staff was delightful. Since neither of us were really hungry, we decided to go with the soup of the day which was a Sweet Potato & Coconut Bisque. It was served with a warm roll and butter. The portion was the perfect size, and it was delicious. We decided to splurge and have dessert. I had the brownie with cream, and my friend had the sticky toffee pudding. They were both good, but the sticky toffee pudding was over the top. Really excellent. Prices were very reasonable as well.

I've been to this place several times and I've never been dissappointed. Food is always amazing, fairly priced and service is friendly.

Unquestionably the worst dining experience of my life. Irrespective of the 90-minute wait for our food (there were 4 other tables - not busy on a Wednesday night in November) or the missing dish where we were inexplicably told by the waitress “I wondered where that was” - the “naan” was a tasteless tortilla chip (perhaps the first time the chef has made this?), the rice was hard as a rock and cold, and the sea bass was completely hammered. The curry tasted of salsa mixed with turmeric. The chips were fine. Other dinners around us had the exact same experience. I cannot emphasize this enough, eat before you get to this hotel.

Just popped in here at lunchtime, being 'in holiday' mode visiting Nairn. I asked for a cone of chips and the chap that served me was very pleasant, chatty and polite. The cone was nearly overflowing with chips with plenty of salt & vinegar added. They were freshly made, hot and very tasty. I would highly recommend if you are visiting Nairn. I will definitely go again and next time have the fish & chips - well you are at the seaside :)
