Unexpectedly good strong coffee at the Ardmhor ferry terminal on Barra. The sausage and Stornoway black pudding rolls were stuffed full and encased in the lightest flakiest pastry. In addition there was a good selection of cakes. There is an outdoor deck overlooking the Sound of Barra. A hidden gem and definitely worth arriving early for your ferry to Eriskay.

This came recommended by friends (we seem to have missed it repeatedly!) and it opens on a Sunday (yeeha) - modern, warm and inviting place just opposite the Council Offices (and next to the Smokehouse) - we were there early for brunch - it was busy but not crowded - great food and coffee menu and helpful staff. Food was rapid and excellent quality. Loved it

Founds this pop-up by accident one day and made a point of returning the next. Brilliant local seafood, thoughtful and tasty accompanying ingredients, well cooked and delightfully served.

Conveniently located on the car park opposite Leverburgh village hall, this van serves cones and tubs of very special ice cream most afternoons. A delightful young man took our order and money, and a very nice lady made up the ice creams. A little mental concentration is required; you have to decide 1) what size you require, 2) whether to have ice cream or frozen yoghurt as the base, and 3) what flavour to choose. I had the blackberry, which was fabulous. Just one suggestion; could you site a waste bin near the van, for used paper cups?

We were cycling the Hebridean way, one of our bikes was making a noise and we dropped in an hour before the shop and cafe closed to get Cameron and Alistair to look at the bike - nothing was a bother, We were tired and wet and we had a hot drink and cake whilst Cameron checked the bike, gave advice, fixed up what he could and got us going. We completed our trip and got to Mallaig. Very grateful for their chilled cafe vibes, friendly chat, excellent service. Best vegan red velvet and hot choc. Great, stocked bike shop for repairs . Lovely staff. Can’t recommend enough. Thanks troops.

Inspired by the “EatDrinkHebrides” trail map, popped in to collect a picnic lunch during a Hebridean road trip. We had the most amazing toasties and hot chocolate. Handy for the ferry. Worth a detour!!

Enjoyed a most amazing visit to this wee and delightful place. Snug and cozy, this is a true ceilidh - a place where community comes together to enjoy wonderful company as well as coffes, teas, and delicious authentic Scottish treats. As a bonus, we had insightful and illuminating conversations that enlightened us around many Gaelic topics and the identity of this extraordinary isle. Oh, and cute gifts too!

Excellent community cafe with gluten free options attached to the local historical museum. They did a gluten free sandwich especially for me.
