Unexpectedly good strong coffee at the Ardmhor ferry terminal on Barra. The sausage and Stornoway black pudding rolls were stuffed full and encased in the lightest flakiest pastry. In addition there was a good selection of cakes. There is an outdoor deck overlooking the Sound of Barra. A hidden gem and definitely worth arriving early for your ferry to Eriskay.

Fantastic coffee and really friendly too! Such a great facility just as you get off the ferry. The homemade baking looked really delicious too.

Stunning display of homemade cakes, served by the baker. We had Belgian brownie and blueberry scone, both delicious, and coffee good too. Sat inside (it's just the Eriskay ferry waiting room, with view of Sound of Barra) whilst numerous locals came for their takeaway coffees and cakes. Check the opening times - limited hours (10-3? Sun and Thurs) when we were there off season.

We only had a blueberry scone to supplement our lunch from the food truck but I am still thinking about how delicious it was, one week later! Definitely fresh and worth a visit

Located at the ferry terminal to Eriskay, in at the waiting area. Great hot chocolates and homemade cakes. Really tasty . Friendly service. A few seats in the waiting area and outside seating area. Definitely worth the trip even when not getting the ferry. A food truck in the car park too but unfortunately didn't manage to try it this time but smelt amazing. Look out for opening times and get there early for the best pick of the cakes.

Always make this one of my favourite stops on the Western isles if I'm going North up the islands heading to the Heb Celt or going south walking the Heb way. Fantastic coffee, great home baking + a nice wee sitting area, whilst you wait for your next ferry.

situated at the jetty for the ferry we spent a pleasant hour here awaiting the ferry. The coffee was roasted in Inverness and mid roast. The young guy serving knew how to make a decent coffee and we recommend the blueberry scones! Nice atmosphere for a shack with locals coming in for their caffeine fix.

We spent 4 days on Barra. We cycled the main loop of the island desperate to find a warm and inviting stop for coffee and cake. They are hard to find and places you might expect to be open aren't. But, just as were leaving to head north to Eriskay and South Uist, there is this little gem in the ferry terminal. Great coffee and fantastic gluten-free carrot cake. We went back for more cake just incase (as is usually the case) GF options are hard to find. So if you are heading onto Barra from Eriskay, don't be in a rush to get out of the ferry port. Take a moment to pause at the terminal and pickup some excellent coffee and cake (or whatever else there takes your fancy).

The best coffee and cakes we had on the islands served by a friendly team. The milkshakes and berry smoothies looked great too! Some indoor seating if the weather is not so good. Fantastic food truck nearby for savoury food. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic cafe in a great location. The best coffee that we found during our trip through the whole of the Hebrides! Friendly service and great cakes too - fig and banana was a winner for me. Wonderful views all around, covid secure and friendly staff.

Just had 2 day trips to Barra. Coffee and home made cake from this most excellent cafe are well worth it. There is a great setting and it being the ferry terminal should not put you off from visiting just for refreshment. Decaff and oat milk available. It is however drinks and cake, I didn't see savoury food.

Having seen the cakes on offer on Facebook, we just had to pay a visit here during our trip to Barra. They were, quite simply, awesome. We will definitely be back next time we're on the island.

What a brilliant place to enjoy refreshments! Absolutely stunning views! The food and drink is of top quality too. It’s open from April to end of September and defiantly worth a call when on North Uist

Very poor value, Spent £25 on the seafood platter no langastines so they supplemented with Scallops which i thought would be ok. when it came out there must have been about 2 Scallops thinly sliced fanned over the plate a small piece of fish and small pile of crab meat and two slices of brown bread.

A good cafe for breakfast and lunches serving basic fare ( everything with chips !) and home baking. Open from 8.30 am until last food orders at 3 pm. I had a bacon and black pudding roll which contained a substantial slice of Stornoway black pudding. Waited 20 minutes for it despite the cafe being almost empty. The cafe has an outdoor deck with views over the sea and it is adjacent to the Kilbride campsite. It has free WiFi.
