The best restaurants in Lomond West Dunbartonshire Glasgow and Surrounding

The hotel is undoubtedly in a superb location, the staff helpful and attentive as you would hope, given what is charged, I went for afternoon tea and I would point out that this experience was at best average , for the following reasons. The “tea” is split into 3 components a savory followed by cakes and then scones. It’s very unbalanced with sweets taking up 2/3 of the serving. And frankly given that there is no choice on what is served, the savory element was fairly unappetizing and suggested they were over eager to provide a choice that as an ensemble simply doesn’t work. From smoked salmon to coronation chicken is the sort of think an over eager wedding planner might suggest to cover all the bases but for 2 people 50% of what was put in front of us was left and the enormous amount of sweet choices frankly overpowering. The scones were excellent but £110 later we left having enjoyed the surroundings but deeply unimpressed with the food.

Cool little outdoor bar in Balloch on the banks of Loch Lomond. Really wide range of drinks on offer. Delicious cocktails, really friendly staff & also they play a fab selection of music. Definitely worth a visit & a great spot to people watch! ☺️

Excellent coffee, friendly service.

We were here in September 2023 with friends. Four people and of the four, one was too spicy and three were gold star meals. We had the Arrabiatta with chicken which was probably the best I have ever had. Service was good, price was reasonable. So good we are back in October 2024 on our next visit to Scotland. The service has stepped up a notch, now seriously seriously good. The food superb. No it’s not the prettiest restaurant around but the best food and service and still great value for money. Very few restaurants approve of my husband and I sharing one meal. But this restaurant rather than just putting the food on one plate no giving us a spare plate, shared the meal out and served us each our own portion of the one meal. Love that! Put it on your list .

Enjoyed a nice breakfast in the lovely setting of the garden centre restaurant. The young servers are very attentive and provide excellent service. My husband had the Scottish breakfast which was huge and well presented. His sausage was a little tough, but everything else was very good. I had a croissant which I found a little bit dry. Coffee was excellent. It's a lovely garden centre to wonder around too.

The fish and ships is good but it's still fried. Place not really clean, service OK but not the most pleasant. Ideal for taking a break in a hurry.

Had a lovely meal at Chimes Chinese Restaurant with my family Saturday evening November 2nd 2024. Absolutely first class service, the servers couldn’t do enough for you. Lovely meal and generous helpings. The interior was cosy with beautiful furnishings and tablecloths. Couldn’t fault it at all. Well done Chimes.

Best pizza in the area! Proper pizza base, rolled out there and then, and you can pick your own toppings, and it's not super greasy. Would definitely recommend and I'll for sure be going back!

Fantastic Experience at Lomond Fish Bar I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the wonderful experience my family and I had at your establishment recently. We had the pleasure of visiting Lomond Fish Bar after coming from Glasgow for my son's football match in the area, and I must say, we were not disappointed. Upon arrival, we were greeted by your really polite and attentive staff, who made us feel welcome right from the start. We ordered the Battered Smoked Sausage Supper, and I can honestly say, it was absolutely banging! The batter was perfectly crispy, and the sausage itself was delicious. My son and daughter shared a Sausage Supper, and they devoured every last bite, which is a rare occurrence as they usually leave leftovers. The overall dining experience was top-notch, and we left feeling satisfied and happy. I wanted to commend your team for their excellent service and the quality of the food. It's not often that we come across such a gem, and I can confidently say that we will definitely be visiting your establishment again in the future. Additionally, I will be sure to pass on the word to friends and family about the fantastic meal we had at Lomond Fish Bar.
