Mavi Kitchen and Bar in West Dunbartonshire

Second time eating here and I have been impressed both times. Tasty, freshly cooked dishes, good selection on the menu and service is very friendly and well paced. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a place to eat in Balloch.

Denis and Clare the rutherglen pair call in today (wednesday 17th April) We didn't realise it changed over to the new owner Mavi because the last time we came it was called Corrie's And what a big difference it is it is nice and bright and different seating situation much better than the last owner (sorry but it is true) clean and airy toilets good food and service and staff Would recommend who used to go to Corrie's must come back and see the New restaurant yours truly Denis and Clare the rutherglen pair.

One of the best full Scottish (or English) breakfasts I've had. This place is a grill house and it showed, all the meats were cooked to perfection and every part of the cooked breakfast was very tasty! Really had a wonderful time eating here (breakfasts currently served until midday).

Owner unlike his staff is sullen and unfriendly! We could not swop the big breakfasts items for something else even though we were prepared to pay extra, not everyone likes what is offered. Won’t be back!

I was unfortunately disappointed by my experience here. I was really looking forward to trying the Turkish cuisine but it was a fairly tasteless kebab (served with unusual tasting quinoa not rice, as advertised). The service was quite quick however one of the waitresses looked like she would rather be elsewhere, barely forcing a smile the whole time we were there which was a little off putting to say the least. Such a shame as this experience has put me off going back.

Lovely food in very nice surroundings. We were heading up to Lochgoilhead on a drizzly Friday night and needed a quick dinner stop on the way up. Mavi is a real find - we shared a meze platter for two and it was delicious. Highly recommend!

Visited Mavi this weekend and can't say anything other than great food and service. Visited for dinner which was absolutely lovely. Very good quality and great portion size, very authentic and good value. We went back the following morning for breakfast which was equally as good. Staff had no issues with my order which was slightly off menu, very attentive. You can tell the staff care about the customer, make you very welcome and you are very well looked after. Our first visit and will definitely be booking up again.

An amazing addition to Balloch , the food does not fail to amaze me every time breakfast is phenomenal and also lunch and dinner. Everything is cooked to perfection as always and the cocktails are also amazing too. Always my go to place to get something to eat locally. The staff are super friendly also:)

I have said this before but OMG the steak pie from Mavi is amazing!!! Cooked to absolute perfection, i drive 40mins just to come here for the steak pie 😊 the portion is a great size aswell! Always a great welcome when we go here and the staff are just lovely. Nice and clean and a great atmosphere!!! Can't wait for my next visit! 😁

Would highly recommend, best restaurant in the area by far. We popped in over burns weekend and the food was out of this world. I had the venison and my friend had the chicken supreme . The place was beautiful and clean. The two girls who were working were so happy, smiling and so helpful and welcoming. Our meal was excellent so was our dessert and drinks. Never made a review but felt this was a worth while one. Very reasonable priced for what we got.

Have eaten here a few times and the food and service is always amazing. Would definitely recommend the steak pie. My daughter was in with her friends recently one of whom is a chef from Australia and she thought the food was fantastic.

We’ve been coming for a week long break over New Year for about 15 years with four other families and we have our favourite places to visit - unfortunately some of them didn’t make it through the lockdowns and we’re now trying new places - Mavi is a fantastic addition to our list after a visit this year! We had a table of fifteen and a high chair - there was no requirement for a pre-order or a deposit on 2nd January (usually a given with our large group bookings at this time of year) there were delicious Turkish starters and main courses all delivered seamlessly over the evening and the staff were amazing! We will see you again next year from some new Aberdeen fans!

Great atmosphere and staff. Lots of choice on the wide ranging menu - chicken shish kebab is my favourite lots of good quality chicken and a selection of pickled veg, delicious rice and bread. Cant wait to visit again soon.

Really good food went for Turkish and was not disappointed potions where good and very flavourful. The baklava was exceptional made in the kitchen not bought in.

We had the chicken goujons. One of the few places that do them with batter as opposed to the breaded ones the majority of restaurants serve. Prices are extremely competitive.

I am a local. I went in for breakfast which was £9.95. Which is ok but when I went to pay I had to pay extra for a cup of tea. So breakfast cost me £12.45. At this cost you should be using decent condiment like brand names instead of cheap condiment that I had to scrape off my sausage because it tasted disgusting. Use are obviously catering for tourists at that price but tourists are only a seasonal thing. When I said to the boy who was serving he was quite rude saying we do well with the breakfast. Obviously tourists who will pay that price. Won’t be back at these prices and when it was Corries me and my family went often due to decent prices. Your breakfast was mediocre at best due to the cheap condiments as well. Even the garden centre don’t charge these prices. Till you think about your locals I won’t be back

I wanted this to be good unfortunately it was terrible. A halloumi and vegetable kebab conjured up ideas of charred chunky halloumi cheese along with delicious fresh vegetables (which are plentiful in September) unfortunately it wasn’t it was far from it. It was tiny pieces of halloumi chopped up with a half of pepper and smothered in a cheap supermarket sweet chilli sauce it wasn’t nice and I told this to the waiter (wearing the batman belt) that it wasn’t good. His attitude was horrible “dae ye want somhing else??” clearly annoyed like it was a hassle and I should have enjoyed the fact that I didn't get what I ordered. Well no I didn’t I wanted the thing I ordered not what I got. This meal was not worth the £14 I paid. When you took away the ramekins you be lucky if it filled half the plate. The rice wasn’t rice either it was barley and it was bland. The bread was two 5cmx2cm strips of pitta. The whole place smacked of ‘cant be bothered’ the main door to ladies loo remained open because there was no self closing mechanism which, and the cubicle door made a dreadful noise which could easily be sorted with wd40 but instead the paying dinners were treated to the sights and sounds of people’s twinklings, flushings and ablutions. The music was disjointed and tinny clearly it’s too much to sort a playlist on a tinny speaker but it seemed more for the staff anyway. The table was rocking because someone no one can be bothered fixing it. The whole experience was poor from start to finish. I will not be recommending this restaurant to any of my clients. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else

Came for dinner tonight with my mum and 2 daughters. Food was phenomenal as always (this is our 3rd time here and we WILL be back!). Highly recommend the chicken shwarma, the börek, and the chicken enchiladas. The cocktails are so tasty and so big! The mavi margarita is well worth ordering, it's blue and frozen! The attention to detail in the decor really adds to the place, gorgeous colour scheme and the tiled bar in particular really stands out. The garden looks like a hidden tiki bar and is a small oasis tucked away out the back. Proper ethnic Turkish food, the baklava and kebabs make you forget your in Balloch! Waiting staff and owners are lovely too, which makes it so easy to support a great locally ran restaurant.

It's a beautiful little restaurant right in the heart of Balloch. The food is plentiful and fairly priced. The staff are incredibly kind and quick. The food is lovely. Be advised that you should book your table in advance.

This was a wonderful find. Terrific food, atmosphere and staff. We ate here both of the nights we were in Balloch . Probably the best food we had eaten during our 3 week trip through Scotland . Thoroughly recommend
