I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and was disappointed that they only do delivery or pick up but I wasn’t disappointed with the food it was really tasty and the portions are very good.

Fab food, can’t wait to go back again soon :) the staff were very friendly too and the place had a nice atmosphere

My hubby and I have been in before and the food was amazing. Unfortunately tonight wrong order was sent out with my husband. We phoned in the afternoon and ordered steak pie and salt and pepper chicken. We also got a txt to say was the salt and pepper chicken starter or meal. My husband told them a main meal. My husband got a phone call to come pick it up. He came home we put the food in the oven for 10 min so we had a drink before our meal. When we took it out it was the wrong order plus the order said the wrong thing on it too.(which was inside the bag so hubby didn't know) My husband phoned and told them. Answer was we can change it if you bring it back(they also deliver). Husband said I can't I have had a Beer. They said oh well sorry about that. Won.t be eating fro there again x

We have ordered a delivery from here a few times during the past few months and the food is phenomenonal. There is a great choice of starters, mains and deserts aswell as specials. I could order something different every time the menu is do good, but if I had to choose a few favourites it would be the Chicken enchilada, pan roasted chicken with black pudding & peppercorn sauce, steak pie and the tablet cheesecake. The presentation and portion size is excellent and the food is delivered fresh and warm as they do deliveries in slots so you know its not been in a car for too long. The staff are always friendly too and nothing is too much trouble for them. Can't wait till we are able to have a sit in meal here again as it is the best place to eat out in the area.

My wife and I have just had a deliver and it was fantastic. First ever time eating from here and will definitely be back. Very friendly staff. Food arrived fast and hot and tasted amazing.

Went for lunch, great menu. Portions were huge but did notice you could take your leftovers home, will remember that next time. Staff friendly and attentive. Over all 5 stars 🌟👍

I went here last week with my partner and family. Staff were very friendly and food was amazing! Unfortunately the restaurant is quite small and we found that customers were squeezing behind our seats to get to a certain table. This was a bit distracting with us moving our chairs often during our meal. It would also be nice to have more drink options as they didn’t do any squash or fruit juices so I ended up drinking water the whole night. Never the less, it was a really good evening and will most likely return in the future.

Excellent food and perfect service. My partner and I both had steaks which where cooked to perfection. Felt weird taking own alcohol but overall this place is amazing. Thank you.

Finally got to visit this restaurant and it wasn’t to disappoint the food was delicious a delight only a small venue but boy they know how to cook my 1st visit but certainly won’t be my last

Thought we'd try having heard good reviews. Can only say all true food was excellent and the the service was same, chef came out to talk to us. Large portions of good wholesome food, pity that it's not open every night, believe this will change as they expand next door. Good to have decent restaurant in Dumbarton at last. Will definitely go back, soon.

Had a fantastic meal on Saturday, food was amazing and staff very friendly. Definitely have to book ahead as it was very busy. I believe restaurant is expanding next door so can't wait and will definitely be back.

Had heard about this restaurant thought we would gives it a try was not disappointed meal was lovely portions generous salt and pepper prawn starter fab will definitely return everything was spot on.

We booked grill on the bridge for my birthday, a wee bit small, but the meal makes up for that, one of the best steaks that I have had, then the sweet, what can I say, out of this world, would recommend to anyone

Went for our visit on 10th November, and it certainly won't be our last. Great food and service. Steak cooked to perfection. 6 yo ate most of her's(excellent portions).

My wife and I had our wedding anniversary meal here. Had the black pudding as a starter and this was excellent. The main my wfie had was the cajun chicken was was moist and siucculent. I had the filet steak which was quite simply the best i have ever had. Good ambience and very reasonably p[riced. Will highly recommend this place.

Come here at least twice a month. Food is consistently good. Bargain 2 course lunch menu. Steaks are amazing quality and Derek is a A+++ chef.

Visited Grill on the Bridge on Saturday 12th October. The service in this establishment is second to none as all staff are very attentive to the customers needs and very friendly. Derek, the chef, even came out with a chat with some of the customers, making us feel really at home. With regards to the food here the size of the portions were excellent and the food was very fresh and even more tasty. My wife and I will certainly visit again.

Good food but felt as though we were sitting in a canteen. Traffic noise is very bad as door was left open. Needs a makeover to give it a softer ambience! Sadly, would not return because of that.

I have been here a few times with different friends whether it be for lunch or dinner. I love the menu choice and anything I have ordered I have thoroughly enjoyed. Previous choices vary from macaroni cheese, salt and chilli chicken to steak and chips. The food is always excellent and the chef usually checks to see how you’ve enjoyed it which is always nice. The restaurant it modernly decorated and always busy. I would say they should look at getting a card machine but it’s not a problem to pop across the road to the cashline. And finally I enjoy that’s its bring your own bottle and the corkage fee is reasonable plus the food prices is decent.

Delicious food, beautifully presented & generous portions with friendly, helpful staff. We had the two course lunch menu at £11:95 a head. Would have happily paid more!

I booked our table on line then decided it was too early message the Grill on the bridge they changed it no problems at all, it’s a lovely friendly place to eT the staff are great the food is out of this world would recommend to everyone to try it

Well my partner had been raving about this place for ages so we went.i eat out regularly and can confidently say this is one of my best meals ever.Its small , welcoming and the food is gorgeous , and great prices, I had the salt n chilli king prawn starter....OMG they were amazing...didnt want to share ..lol ..followed by the man v food burger which even i struggled to finish.. if you like a relaxed atmosphere with gorgeous food at a great price get your ass to dumbarton...it wont dissapoint

We couldn't believe our luck that we where able to get a walk in table as it's usually fully booked but our plans changed and we where looking for somewhere to eat and Grill on the Bridge is our go to place in Dumbarton! Amazing quality of food most of which is locally sourced and cooked to perfection. The staff are so friendly helpful and patient especially when you have a contrary 6 year old who changed his mind! I love the fact the children's menu is proper food from the adult menu but smaller portions and not your bulk standard frozen nuggets fish fingers or pizza - I honestly have no negative comments to make except the cheesecake is too good and I can never decide which one to get so just as well they have a takeaway service which in my case is a cakeaway! Thanks for providing us with an amazing family friendly place to eat locally - see you soon!

Having booked to go here some 4 weeks earlier for a special catch up with friends, was very disappointed that the restaurant did not have a record of the booking and we were quickly turned away. Poor housekeeping and poor after care. From previous visits food is excellent but if this is what is to be expected will think again before going or recommending.

We finally got to visit the grill, we had heard so many people raving about the food and service and couldn't wait to try for ourselves.

Family get together ....we had a 2 course meal at lunch time price should have read £11-95 each but when we got there we was charged £16-95 as we had all paid separate for our meal even thou it was a family ...soup was good as most of us had steak pie was nice but the chips were a let down ..we were told they only charge £11-95 if it is only 6 people as one of ours was a child of 6 years and my son's partner only had a main course ..that is a fault on their part ...

I can't rate the food here highly enough! We booked a table for 4 and it was clean plates all round. Derek the chef has real enthusiasm for his food and everything is cooked with the anticipation to make people happy. Relaxed atmosphere and already looking for an excuse to book up again.

This is a wee hidden Gem in Dumbarton. There is a part of me that doesn’t want to share my review because more people will go and I won’t get a table! The food is excellent, you can tell the ingredients are quality and the chef is talented. It’s small and only opens at weekend but definitely worth the wait and remember it’s BYOB. The portions are quite big so make sure you leave plenty of room for your main meal if ordering a starter. The desserts are all handmade and delicious. Enjoy

Had another amazing meal on Mother’s Day. It was a set menu with a great selection of dishes, so much so it was a problem to decide what to have. Opted for the salt and pepper chicken starter(just the right amount of kick) followed by the fish and then strawberry Erin mess. it was all really good. Well worth a visit

Friends had been raving about this so was keen to visit but to be honest, was disappointed. It’s a small room lacking in atmosphere ... bright walls, no ambient lighting, can hear conversation from other tables - feels like you’re in someone’s living room. Young female waitress appeared lacking in experience and never smiled or engaged with us. Food was good but nothing special.. huge portions which maybe why appeals but so much waste! My chicken was tasty, but swimming in oil. My friend’s salt & pepper chicken was only ok.

Chef Derek came to our table to seek feedback on the food he served. We appreciated his commitment to customer satisfaction as much as the wonderful food we had devoured. Seabass like never before, hunters chicken and sirloin steak with Diane sauce followed by strawberry cheesecake. The meal was exceptional, the service was personal and left us without a doubt that our custom was appreciated.

Best food you will find for miles! Cozy, friendly and large portions. Top service and fantastic price! If you dont go here you will honestly regret it.

I’ve been a regular customer at GOTB since it opened and can honestly say it produces the best food in Dumbarton if not West Dunbartonshire. Fresh, tasty food made with quality ingredients by a chef who is a perfectionist and does his best to provide his customers with what they want. He will regularly go round the tables asking for feedback on the meals and goes out of his way to ensure you leave his restaurant satisfied. Top favourite is the Mexican burger which is topped with a delicious pulled beef, this is closely followed by the Fillet Steak then Steak Pie. Another brilliant concept they offer is their take away option which has really filled a gap in the market locally. Card machine, license and bigger more comfortable premises can only mean things are going to get even better for this little gem of a restaurant. Cannot wait! Keep up the great work Derek and staff!

We visited today and have to say that this is one of the friendliest restaurants ever. The staff just can’t do enough for you . The food is amazing and having the owner come to your table to chat and give advice on the food is such a wonderful personal touch . We will be back and are looking forward to seeing your plans come to fruition .

This is becoming one of my favourite places to eat.. I've visited 3 times and had the most delicious meal each time. The food is absolutely lovely. The place is just so friendly and you feel very valued coming in. I've had the salt and pepper chicken and the steak pie. The chicken goujons are also the best I've ever tasted. Everything is home made and you can tell. Will definitely be back.

Love this place its became a favourite of mines. The creamy mushroom starter is to die for if you are a mushroom person like me. I loved the chicken enchiladas so fresh with homemade chips and coleslaw cant beat that.

We ate here 09/02/19, Saturday night after it was recommended to us on a recent visit. We weren’t disappointed. The restaurant is absolutely spotless, staff were keen to make our visit a pleasant one & the food was absolutely amazing. We will be back again without a doubt - 10/10 easily.

Our first visit and a pleasant surprise .

The place was lovely and food was extremely delicious. It could do with nicer table and chairs and a bit more attention to make it feel more like a restaurant other than a cafe.

Visited this very small restaurant last Saturday night and the previous reviews are spot on. No drinks licence but take your own and pay corkage. Four of us dined 2 had ribeye 1 sirloin and 1 steak pie. All of the steaks were cooked perfectly service was excellent and we will definitely be back.

Have been here on quite a few occasions food is normally excellent however this time steak pie was bit burnt both steak and the pastry portion huge as usual. Wondered if owner had day off as he usually pops out to see all ok.Waitress really needs to be taught some customer service young girl blonde hair she must be a family member that’s why she still works here. No smile took plates n glasses away before everyone finished and just put bill in front of us without being asked obviously she had decided we should be leaving.She did this last visit too that’s why I mentioned it as very off putting for customers so her tip was reduced. Also agree with a previous comment check your bill as noticed another table questioning their bill as been overcharged ours was ok.

Thought i had found somewhere really nice .Till i booked a table for two.Ordered steak pie and chips.The food was absolutely covered in SALT .I was thinking the further into the meal i ate mabye the SALT would lessen but NO.Ishould have sent it back .the couple next to us we asked how their meal was COVERED in SALT TOO.When i complained i was told the chef seasoned the food .He is the Owner .As i waited i asked where the chef was .he went to the shop .5 mins later when i paid my bill which i was over charged £7.00.on .Was told the chef had left .They accept cash only no card machine either .So all in all would not recommend .unless you love SALT .service left a lot to be desired.so did the food .Would not recommend

At last a 1st class cosy restaurant with the most wonderful food, we watched it all being served very quickly to other guests and were not disappointed in what we saw. Heading back today. Its a place you can't avoid knowing the quality and quantity of the food being served. The staff are lovely too and can't do enough for you. Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

This place is a great place to dine for all the family, nothing is too much for Derek, his food is awesome especially the salt and pepper chicken or king prawns, portions are excellent as are the prices ,the decor is fresh, not a big restaurant by any means, but its cosy, staff are welcoming. Food is outstanding, service is speedy & always with a smile! Restaurant can become a bit noisy because it's so small & intimate. Value for money and portion sizes are enormous.

We have eaten here regularly since it opened and the food gets better every time. The fillet steak with diane sauce is to die for!! My husband loves the mexican burger and the chips are hand cut proper chips and not frozen ones. It's bring your own booze so there is a small corkage charge for wine and beers, etc. The owners and staff are lovely and very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The only downside is that it's only open at weekends, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. Apart from that give it a try and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Yet another visit to our favourite restaurant for an exceptional meal. The usual Fillet Steak for myself and Chicken Enchilada for the other half. Outstanding service and the food is just unbelievable. Didn’t manage to take pictures of the starters (we went in hungry after skipping lunch earlier that day so they got eaten as they hit the table) Can’t recommend here enough! If only you could taste through the screen.

First time I have eaten here and was not disappointed, was out with Family couple who had been before and we had a variety of dishes. From the starters through the mains to the desserts we all thoroughly enjoyed the food which is of a high standard.

Found this wee place thru TripAdvisor and what a great wee place it is! As per previous reviewers have stated, food is excellent - if you have a starter and a main you prob won’t have room for dessert!! We were stuffed after our delish meal (cheesy garlic bread and bruschetta and then chicken enchilada and steak pie) but we were really wanted the cheesecake (as it had been highly recommended) so we got it to take away and have at home later!! The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is relaxing. 2 things to note tho: it’s a BYOB (no alcohol served) and it’s cash only. Will def be back to sample other tasty dishes.

Good food but the room is very echoey so even normal conversation is uncomfortably loud. Service can be a little slow.

Food was lovely and well presented: cream of tomato soup was delicious (would rather not have the green oil in it to garnish, just the cream is preferred) Chicken enchilada was enjoyable with home cooked chips. There was a sweetness to the salad (possibly the balsamic vinegar) which I didn't like. Sticky toffee pudding was amazing and what a portion! There was a set lunch menu for £11.95 which included two courses and also an extensive a la carte menu too. BYOB - glasses AND wine cooler provided at no extra cost means you can bring your preferred choice of wine - LOVE IT!

I have eaten here a few times and have never left disappointed the food is always first class I went for the soup and the fillet steak the only fault I could say is they give you to much food and I never have room for dessert I was reading the review from one customer who said the service is not great and they seem to chat more to others it’s probably the fact it’s a local restaurant and they do tend to know most of the customers I think she should give it another chance. for the quality off food and the price they charge I think it would be hard to beat I am not to sure on the booking process I normally just pop in to book but I have also called a few times but I can see were she is coming from if you can only book through face book I don’t have face book

Now I am going to sound picky as I see all the 5 star reviews(this is my first review I don't usually complain). However, to start with we got off on the wrong impression, my boyfriend and I tried to book a table after looking at the Facebook page it said the online bookings were experiencing problems so we found a number and phoned to book as it said we could on the post. We were then told that they couldn't take bookings over the phone so had to go back to the Facebook page, a little inconvenient but was forgiven as it is a small local business so we pressed ahead with the booking. Then we arrived at the restaurant I had brought two small bottles of pre mixed Gin as its BYOB(will get back to this later). Over the course of our meal there were a few issues: the start of our meal we weren't asked if we wanted drinks, I had to ask to get ice for our drinks brought with us, the service was very bland mainly just asking the basic questions no "hi how are you doing is this your first time eating here", not ONCE were we asked how our meal was. I have to say our salt and pepper chicken starter was nice. When our main meals came out, my boyfriends meal was steak and chips which was also good(I sneaked some off his plate) however, my Mexican burger was lukewarm with big clumps of cheese and I felt the actual burger was undercooked but all this bar the temperature could have just been personal taste. The real disappointment was the lack of customer service and not being asked how it was as I am not usually one to kick up a fuss. The last straw was really a misunderstanding that could have been handled better, I questioned the bill because I thought the £3.75 corkage fee only applied if you brought 3 drinks or a bottle of wine. Though my mistake when I asked about it I felt like the response was very short and maybe a tad rude again no "sorry for the misunderstanding but theres nothing i can do about it". Even though it was my mistake I will say I had only drunk one drink and to charge £3.75 is extortianate when thats more than the cost of one drink in some places. The Dining Room restaurant round the corner charges nothing even for a bottle of wine. Overall, I left feeling like the food was expensive for the complete lack of customer service, even more so when I felt like other people were getting friendly service. Maybe it was cause we were a young couple or because we weren't local but if you are looking for somewhere to eat I would suggest the Glencairn or The Dining Room where we have always had excellent food and fantastic service.

Me and my other half went out for a nice meal and we were glad we chose grill on the bridge as the food was lovely, quick and to a very high standard, would recommend the chicken enchilada

Beautiful place food is excellent it is so lovely having somewhere new to go for dinner in Dumbarton. Been twice now both times food was a high standard and a good amount to choose from. Decor is lovely with a great atmosphere. This is definitely becoming my favourite place in Dumbarton to eat.

This restaurant just has it spot on. The food is excellent, fresh and yummy. The staff are super friendly and I have never had a bad meal. My only regret is it not being opened more often.

Since opening my family and I have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions from Saturday night dinner to Sunday lunch. The quality, taste and portion size of the food is perfect. We have never been disappointed and have tried a variety of things from the menu (well my family has, I go for steak pie every time and it is superb!). All staff are attentive and helpful. I would and have highly recommended this restaurant to family and friends. It's well worth a visit!

Again and again I go here and every time my food is to die for! I tend to get the fillet steak and it is so tender. Perfectly cooked every time. The chips are double fried and are an absolute delight to eat if you can handle the portion size of a starter and main. The desserts are also amazing. Really this place hasn't a fault at all. Only got one picture as I tend to dig in before being able to take pictures.

Been wanting to try this place for a while as the reviews seemed good. We were the 1st diners there, it was quiet but cosy and comfortable. The menu choices were good. The waitresses were polite and didn’t over crowd us which was nice. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend visiting here. A nice touch was the chef taking the time to check we enjoyed the food. The only fault we could comment on was no card reader and so my husband had to nip to the bank but it was close so not a huge problem

We had our 7 year old grandson for the weekend and he wanted to "go out for dinner". There is not a lot of choice in Dumbarton but I had heard this was a new restaurant and that it was good. So glad we did the food was excellent. One disappointment was that they had ran out of fillet steak and as my husband only usually eats fillet he was reluctant to take the sirloin but he was pleasantly surprised. The starters we had prawns and mushrooms were delicious as were the deserts. Good quality food at a reasonable price as you are not paying inflated prices for drinks. You bring your own. Grandson too was happy with his meal so all in all a good night .

Came for lunch with my husband and son this was their first time and my second time. My husband and i both had the fish and chips and son the kids chicken nuggets and chips. We ate the lot. Quick, fresh and loads on the plate just the way we like it. No complaints from my son other than he was stuffed. Puddings to die for. Excellent menu and great friendly staff. We look forward to our next visit x

Had lunch here with my friend, I was surprised how small it was. It's lovely inside. We both had chicken enchiladas, and I had the Ferraro rocher cheesecake. I was slightly worried, it would be too much chocolate. No, it was heavenly. Really really delicious.

We went there for a family meal. Most of the family had steak and everyone;s steak was exactly how they asked for it. I had fillet steak and it is certainly the best fillet steak I have had in a restaurant for a long time. Nice friendly staff. Would certainly return

Went here for a family meal, had the fillet steak surf and turf, best I have ever tasted, steak was huge and done exactly as I asked, so tasty and tender, would highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu including the starters and desserts next time, plus it's a byob at the moment so you can take your favourite wine along, staff very friendly and attentive too.

First time we've eaten here and it won't be our last, great menu, food looked and tasted amazing all helped by very friendly staff and service. Not licensed but they over BYOB which is a great option, only currently open Saturdays and Sundays at the moment but hopefully this may be extended to additional days/evenings as their custom deservedly increases.

Tried to book elsewhere and they were full and ended here by default but lucky me the meal was 1st class. Amazing what you can fit into a small space but not sitting to close to your fellow diners. Contemporary design, but chairs not meant for comfort and wobble table. The food makes up for the discomfort. There was a good selection of hearty food on the menu. We skipped starter and both choose surf and turf. King prawns large and meaty with an excellent sirloin cooked to perfection, mushroom, tomato, large battered onions accompanied with chips in a basket with peppered sauce on the side enough for two. To full for pudding. Did not realise no drinks license yet but they do have bring a bottle arrangement with a corkage fee. Only down side the acoustics where shocking the restaurant was full and the noise from other tables was deafening. Do not let this put you off the the other meals that headed to other tables looked delicious, just maybe bring your ear defenders.

Had a fantastic meal at the Grill on the Bridge. I had Stornoway Black Pudding for starter and my wife had the 'Very Garlickey' Mushrooms, both excellent. Surf and Turf for my main was truly exceptional, Salt & Pepper King Prawns and one of the finest Fillet Steaks I have ever tasted. My wife's Chicken with Stornoway Black Pudding and Pepper Sauce was delicious.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is well presented and very tasty. The menu provides you with a varied choice of food that is suitable for all tastes. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who is looking for a good hearty meal with friendly service and high quality food. The restaurant doesn't have a licence for drink but bring your own bottle and enjoy

Went with my girlfriend as we both absolutely love crumbs (the during the week lunchtime shop) My mum told me the steak was exceptional but WOW I didn't think it was going to be this good, the fillet melted in the mouth was cooked to my liking absolutely perfect, and the peppercorn sauce I had only got used with the chips as the steak was that tasty! My girlfriend got the steak pie and it was a massive portion, the meat was juicy and the puff pastry was huge and crispy! Exceptional value for money and the chef comes out to see how the meal is not only the waiters, this is a very unique touch. Couldn't recommend enough but book in advance as it is very very very busy. If you're lucky and get a table, and like steak? Get the fillet I 100% recommend it you'll not be disappointed!

This new grill in Dumbarton is worth the drive. Everything on the menu is incredible and they will bend over backwards to make your meals perfect.

At last Dumbarton has a quality restaurant, the food was absolutely top quality, the steaks are very good quality cuts and very reasonably priced at £21 and cooked to perfection, the accompanying sides were also delightful.

Miller and Carter eat your heart out - this wee place is even better. The menu caters for everyone but you need to try the steaks!! Top class. Well done chef. Bet he could turn out a fine dining experience fit for a king

Visited for the first time for Mother's Day lunch and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is small however has a lovely relaxed atmosphere where you are made to feel very welcome by everyone. The food was excellent, freshly cooked and loads of it! We will definitely return.
