Lovely friendly staff good food as well mushrooms starter was excellent ..

We had a wonderful dining experience at The Balloch House! We ordered the ribeye steak, salmon fishcake, katsu chicken rice bowl, and the signature burger—everything was absolutely delicious. Each dish was cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The ambience was warm and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The service was excellent too—friendly, attentive, and efficient. If you’re in the area and looking for great food in a lovely setting, The Balloch House is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

Darrell was fantastic, so good I stopped by twice in one day! Super friendly and accommodating and didn’t stop running around the place helping everyone else too. A credit to the business.

We booked as a group of 14 to celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary, and found it very enjoyable. Even though it was busy, and we were a large group, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, and were really attentive. Some of us are fussy eaters and they accommodated any requests we had, and brought our food out as quickly as they could. Communication was excellent, the food was absolutely lovely, and enjoyed by everyone. There was an incident where someone bumped into a waiter carrying one of our desserts, which was then dropped, and the waiter was very apologetic, even though it was in no way his fault. He took full responsibility for a situation not caused by him at all, and the dessert was quickly replaced. All in all a very enjoyable experience, lovely food and we definitely plan to return again soon! Thanks to all the staff for their great customer service!

Stopped for a coffee end a driving break. Supercharming place with good service, tasty latte and a comfortable seat. Worth a visit!

Visited with family yesterday food was lovely we had Red wine infused Lasagne delicious the other member of the family had fish and chips they all enjoyed it very much fish was delicious. We has a few drinks and my brother had a Tennents Lager which he said was one if the best pints he has had for a few years he said it was all down to cleaning the pipes Will definitely return the staff we're all very friendly.

Great food, nice atmosphere and excellent service. Plenty of gluten free options on the menu. Emir was attentive and friendly throughout. Dog friendly too with water bowls and treats!

Stopped in for a cosy dinner whilst on a visit to Loch Lomond. Can't fault it! Food was great, plenty of drinks to choose from and service (by Emir) was attentive and friendly. Dog friendly too 🐶 Surprisingly mild temperatures for Scotland in March but noticed there was a fireplace which would be lovely in the depths of winter!

Group of seven celebrating a birthday surprised and let down by slow service, poorly prepared dishes and no explanation when we asked though did receive an apology. Arriving at six and giving our order roughly around 6.20 we did not receive our mains till a minute to 8 and only three of us had a starter which took a long time to come and even longer to be cleared. One of our party asked a member of staff who said they were just bar staff regarding the wait after the table of about 8 next to us who arrived at the same time got up and paid for their drinks and starters and left without accepting their mains. They said this had not happened here before so local or regular diners but obviously felt aggrieved enough to leave. I wished we hadn't asked about the waiting time as the food then shortly arrived and several of our group were not overly happy about the quality of our dishes with two of us having the same thing could see both prepared visibly differently and I think the amount of tomatoes still on the stem with my steak and chips gave a lazy student feel as the least offensive way of describing it. We all felt the game was lost to be trying to send anything back and were resigned to finishing and going. The bill was wrong and we felt pressured after the new one was presented as the lady from earlier who presented herself as bar staff was now seeking payment and ordering a young waiter to clear things from tables was hovering over my sister who was just trying to look over the corrected bill. They had two menus running with a set menu with 3 courses for a set price but we didn't get to take advantage of this as we asked for the bill around 8.30 with our dishes still on the table were not wanting to stay for a possibly another hour. Whilst my sister queried the bill I went to the toilets but could only use the one working cubicle due to flooding along the floor of the urinals. Our young waiter was very polite and left to apologise for our poor experience. Would have been less likely to review if some ownership and explanation was taken on the night from management as they had every opportunity.

Popped in for a nice breakfast with our dog. The food was very good, and the staff were friendly. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy. Price was very reasonable too.

After 6 years I returned to Balloch House, which my best friend and I had fallen in love with at the time. Huge surprise when the waiter came to bring an envelope to the table with my name on it.. A huge thank you to Balloch House for playing along and making this moment possible which I will remember for a very long time 🙏

Great Food, good Service! We ate there twice!

Great service and staff were really friendly. It's not always easy finding somewhere that welcomes kids and dogs in the same area but the staff couldn't do enough for us to make us welcome. Food was top notch too, very generous portions. Will return without hesitation when we are next in Balloch.

Great restaurant with very cozy decor. We tasted refined and tasty dishes, the opposite of what can be said about English cuisine, a charming welcome. I highly recommend it.

In for food today (Sunday) have to ask for menus after 10 mins another 20 to take our order (others arrived at the same time have been served and finished eating) 40 minutes waiting on food Not a good experience

We stopped by to have some lunch after spending the morning around loch lomond at around 4,30 pm and got told by the lady in the entrance (seemed to be a manager or supervisor) that they were full, so we left. Once outside, we just checked in their website to see if they have any availability for later as she never said, and there was tables available from 5 pm, just 30 mins after we went, so we booked a table. When we came back, the same woman looked at us kind of confused but we told her we had a booking so she just took us to the middle of the dining room and pointed at a table at the very end and said that’s your table and left. When she brought us the drinks, she left the tray with the drinks on the corner of our table and left. The rest of the service was done by a very nice young lady that treated us fantastically. We ordered a couple of starters and 4 main (4 beef lasagne). We were served the starters around 15-20 mins after ordering and when we finished them, the same woman from the beginning came to tell us they only have 1 lasagna left so we had to order something else (I am sure this is something they could have let us know a bit earlier, but alright), so we had to wait another 20 mins to have the main. A bit of a disappointment considering how beautiful is the place and the food was delicious.

I have gone to this restaurant with my family and the treatment from the lady who served us at the door has not been very pleasant. When we arrived, they told us that they were not available, in a rather unkind way, considering that it must be a supervisor or boss because she was not wearing a uniform or apron like the rest of the workers, so we left.

Nice atmosphere, friendly service, a bit on the slow side but we were in no hurry. Food was competent standard pub fare, none the worse for that.

Never actually had anything to eat or drink as the manageress was so rude and unwelcoming we just left. The Tullie Inn across the bridge was superb though !

Came in for a drink and possibly food. Found a nice table for two in the bar. Was rudely turfed out by a lady I’m assuming was the Manager telling me it was reserved. If you are going to reserve tables then mark them reserved. She was extremely rude to myself and my husband who was waiting at the bar. If it’s table service only, appropriate signage or staff at the door is the usual practice

My friend and I visited 3 times in 3 days which already says a lot I think. The atmosphere and service was great and although there aren't loads of vegan options, the vegan butternut and chickpea burger I had was delicious. One of the best vegan burgers I've had. The location I great too and very important for me - it's very dog friendly 🐾 will definitely be back

The lady at the door was rude and gave us a bad look as soon as we walked in . Telling us we can't have a drink even though we could clearly see tables available next door. . Felt very unwelcoming . No smile no sorry no thank you . Such a shame

Came to Bolloch house for a nights stay and some food. The menu is great and the food was too. I’d come here again. The staff make the experience really nice. Great at the bar, excellent table service - lad called Jamie was nice and the man with a foreign accent he’s a right laugh

Got ignored by staff when waiting to be seated so went to tullie inn instead. Thought this was rude/arrogant.

Very disappointed. We had paid a deposit for the valentine's treat menu (which was only available for 14th and 15th of Feb). Dinner was booked for 7:45pm on the 14th (the first dinner service of the set menu) to be told that they had run out of the Surf and Turf option. Quite frankly - I don't think there's any excuse for this. Either there was an unprecedented surge of customers buying the surf and turf or the establishment hadn't bought enough - intentionally perhaps? (our server told us they 'didn't have that many to begin with'). Again, really disappointed because I'd hoped for better but feel mislead and, again, this was actual valentines night. Terrible customer experience, feel really let down.

My group popped in for a small break after our boat tour; the restaurant was warm and welcoming and has a cozy and traditional homely atmosphere. Food and drink were delicious and the staff were very lovely, friendly and attentive. Dogs are welcome too! I would (and will) happily return here again!

As planning a trip to Dunoon looked up for a place to have dinner on the way back. Came across The Balloch House, so booked. When we arrived around 5.30 the restaurant was very cosy and nicely arranged. We were guided to our table by a gentleman and told that our server would be Emir. Our meals were The Chicken Curry and Gammon Steak with Strawberry Messes to follow. It was noticeable that when Emir was cleaning the used tables he gave them a really good clean and not just a 'wipe'. With the experience of meeting friendly staff and a nicely situation we definitely intend to visit again.

A really warm and cosy pub with lovely and reasonably priced food and very welcoming staff. Perfect after a long walk. Lots of Vegetarian and Vegan options.

The hotel is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and looks quite old. We went to this establishment on a Sunday and asked for the Roast Trio and Vegetarian Wellington. There was no beef for the trio, and the Wellington was off the menu. Both my wife and I finished our drinks before we finished our meal but there wasn't one member of staff that came to our table to ask if everything was OK or if we needed any more drinks. This was a little disappointing.

We ordered 3 meals from a lovely efficient waitress, however one of the meals, a steak pie, was inedible as the meat was so tough you were unable to cut it. The waitress apogised, but did not seem surprised, and a lasagne was reordered and quickly served. unfortunately it was served too quickly and was cold in the middle and returned This was a very disappointing experience and the manager was informed and the bill was reduced by just over, £3 ,which did not in any way reflect our very poor experience

Great visit in a cold foggy day.we had lunch next to the log fire and it was pure magic the staff are great and frendly food was welcome and tasty.we had soup and lasagna. Fantastic.

We were seated near the warm fire place! - service was a little slow however the atmosphere was made for chatting and chilling by the Loch! Good selection on both food and drinks and fairly priced. Would recommend after a walk around the town for good vibes !

A very nice restaurant with very nice menu. We have booked a cruise on loch Lomond after this great experience we wanted to find a restaurant to eat. The Balloch House near the port so we went and we didn't regret it. Very polite people work there and very helpful also the menu has many choices we were six people and we are all very happy. Nice food and good people if you are at Balloch go and eat there.

I don't understand why if you don't have a reservation you can't eat, we went 2 times and there was no way even though there were tables. The manager did not speak badly and the employees were very friendly.

Popped in after a wet walk to warm up and grab a coffee. Brilliant service and coffee was lovely. The food being served to other tables looks absolutely delicious.

Ordered a margherita pizza and was served what appeared to be a garlic flatbread with cheese and sauce. Astonished that anyone would be gallus enough to do this - you could see the garlic oil around the crust. Asked to change for something else and was told "that's just how it comes". Astounded - garlic butter isn't mentioned on the menu and it's described as being served with fresh basil. You could see the chopped dried herbs which come on a supermarket garlic flatbread. My brother ordered a different pizza which didn't come with garlic butter and was round compared with the signature ovaloid shape of a supermarket flatbread. Not sure what was more bizarre - being served it or being gaslighted and told that's how it comes.

Had a lovely meal here today , food was excellent and cooked to perfection . Service was amazing too . Also dog friendly too , which gave us the opportunity to meet Aramis , quite possibly the largest dog I have ever encountered . What a big gentle soul he was , my brothers wee Schnauzer Ozzy was fairly enamoured with him . Great place for a meal , definitely be back .

Went to 5 places tonight. All very welcoming bar this one. From standing within 5 metres of 3 bar staff for 6 minutes, we had a chance to observe the atmosphere which seemed quite relaxed. Told ‘we’ll be with you’ too many times so ended up leaving.

We went in for lunch today and was warmly welcomed by the excellent staff. We sat at a table of our choice and was quickly given the menus. We had a beef brisket on toasted bloomer served with gravy and a choice of chips or salad,I opted for salad which was great. My wife had a fish goujon toasty which she had chips with it. We both had mini puds and coffee to finish with. All in all a great experience which we will repeat soon.

I was there kinda two years ago with my family. Foods were delicious, service was fast – even in busy time of the day – and everyone was really kind. They have a good selection of beers and whisky. Manager even gave us a glass with Doom Bar logo for free after I had told him that my brother was a Cormoran Strike fan. I would absolutely go back.

Amir made the best log fires in this super cosy pub! We visited after a 20,000 step count walk of Balloch castle and the whinny hill woods. Lovely way to end a very fulfilling hike. Thanks to Alex, Amit and all the team at the Balloch House.

I love Balloch House normally but when I visited yesterday it wasn't up to the usual par. I had to go looking for staff at one point and it was quite cold inside. The radiators weren't on. My friends and myself felt chilled by the time we left. I did speak to one of the waitresses nearer the end. She just shrugged and said "it is a bit cold" no explanation given at all. This will certainly put me off going back to what used to be a lovely cosy pub that's not COSY!! 🥶

Basic, but clean and warm. The restaurant staff were excellent, very friendly and kind.

Nice location, we were served by Emir on both nights we stayed in the hotel and he was brilliant. So knowledgeable and attentive, really is an asset to the team. The hotel room was very comfortable and had everything you need for a weekend stay. Will definitely be back ☺️

Lovely early evening dinner for four of us and food was great. Had some lovely Prosecco and started feeling a bit festive 🥰🎄 Jeff and Diane were there and it’s busy but very organised. Our waitress was very attentive and nothing was a bother.
