The hotel was good But it was not easy to find the road

Been going here for many years and never had a complaint yet. Lovely fresh quality ingredients and reasonably priced. Staff are always friendly and helpful and we will be back

Lovely short stay hotel, very friendly and excellent service. The rooms are very nice with comfortable beds. The 'Stoater' breakfast was splendid, very nicely cooked.

Stay here regularly. The staff are attentive. Restaurant has a good choice of food. Enjoy every stay

Great food and always really good service.

Check-in staff was polite, but not very helpful. Advertises laundry but does not have the facilities they claim. After we mentioned this, they told us we can leave if we want (no compensation offered and NO MENTION of their intention to stop false advertising). Luckily Hotels.com DID compensate us 15% back on our booking for the loss of this amenity. This hotel is VERY hot and stuffy. The windows are very small and they have no air con. We stayed in September and were watching people leave in search of a hotel with better airflow. Our group recommends finding better accommodation nearby.

Great venue for a family dinner. The staff were warm and welcoming and smartly dressed. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. Plenty of parking, including disabled spaces. The washrooms are very clean and modern. A good selection of food on the menu and everybody enjoyed their food which was hot and tasty.

While I'm not a fan of the colour scheme (browns and beige). I really can't fault the place. Comfortable room, very nice staff, and the breakfast was brilliant.

Walkable from the train, and there is a bus stop just outside.

Spacious room, functional equipment and perfect bathroom (toilet paper folded like in the restaurant!) A pleasant welcome with a smile.

Super friendly staff, very attentive and fun (almost familiar as if we had been there many times before)! The location was quite good, not super central but nice and quiet.

Spend the night there on our way home from Scotland. Very easy to find clean rooms, very good food and friendly staff.

Very old fashioned hotel food and the toliets not the best. They don't even a lift if you're function is upstairs. Also the access road into the hotel could be better

Staff where very kinda, i felt very welcomed and im the location is great to get too and from the Dumbarton east train station and getting to glasgow is very easy!

One of the best 3 stars you will find. Clean and very convenient with really helpful pleasant and well led staff. Food and drink tempting and enjoyable whilst the whole package is very competitively priced. I shall definitely stay again.

Rooms are a bit dated but clean and tidy. No room fridge so take care if you’re bringing any food or drinks. Restaurant service was good with typical pub meals. Breakfast was well worth the £6.50. After 4 weeks in Scotland this was by far the best breakfast we’ve had. Very friendly staff and a great menu. Well worth it and highly recommended!

Great menu, verging on too much choice

Wasn't staying at the hotel just popped into watch the scotland game. We were gubbed 5-1 but I don't want that to negatively impact my review... on that note they have really nice toilets.

Excellent hotel with free wifi, free parking, and short drive to attractions. The family room is very spacious and is the best during our stay in the UK. Would recommend to anyone that visit Scotland.

Was there for a funeral tea. The staff were lovely and very happy to help you and couldn't have done anymore.

Stopped here for one night. Karen was lovely and attended to us with a smile and a warm welcome. I observed her greeting others and she clearly enjoys her job as she was sparkling. They offered to call us if a table came available earlier and they did and the food was typical pub grub. Satisfactory. Staff were quick to take orders and get those hungry bellies filled. They were quick to get the vaccum and cleaning supplies out when you left too. The room itself was warm and the bathroom in particular was lovely. I was concerned about potential traffic noise but it was no bother (we stayed a Saturday and left around 9am on a Sunday)

Stopped at Abbotsford house Hotel Dumbarton on way to Portree, and stopped off on way back to Yorkshire. Unfortunately late at night my husband took ill, he was taken to hospital. I stopped at the hotel and I cannot thank everyone enough from housekeeping, lovely Rose on reception restaurant staff. Rose sorted out our room to stop two extra days while husband was in hospital, and sort out getting home.(kidney stones all is well) 5 stars from entering reception greeted with a friendly smile. Rooms where lovely and clean. The hotel throughout was spotless. The restaurant was nice and inviting again staff so polite and friendly, the food was on point, as I ate here lunch and evening meal for 3 days. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for it definitely will take some beating. Highly recommend

A fantastic Neighbour offering great food and drinks. With friendly staff and management.

Exceptional welcome this evening friendly, pleasant staff who went the extra mile to engage with children. Room has everything you would need iron, hairdryer etc. Great base for visiting loch Lomond and the surrounding sites.

Great atmosphere, welcoming confident staff.

Was at a family party, great location. Staff were very efficient and lovely. Only comment would be ladies need a bit of an upgrade, a bit dated. The ones in the lounge are lovely

For me, the place was best described as functional. I was attending a meeting there and didn't use a bedroom. We did have dinner there & found the restaurant to be busy. The food was fair, well priced & the service also friendly. It was easy to see why the place was busy on a Sunday afternoon.

Very nice and friendly staff Squeezed us in last min food really nice lentil soup was tasty and chicken fajitas really nice aswell not had fajitas like that long time And stuff are brilliant one so funny made me laugh got banter and Witty 100% would go back. 10/10 for everything

Went in for some dinner with friends, we were there on the later side of the night so it was quiet. Staff were very cheerful and friendly when greeting us. Gave plenty of time to let us choose what we were ordering and didn't keep coming back asking if everything was ok (I know some people don't mind that but I prefer to just enjoy the meal). I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry, which was amazing. Tasted great and there was plenty of it. Would definitely go again.

We eat out every Saturday and found The Abbotsford online. Gave it a try and went the past two weekends. It has been lovely food at good prices. The cream chicken enchiladas were unreal. The service is fast and special mention to Agnes Mary who replaced my wifes fajaitas as they came with a sauce she was not expecting. She was trying to force it down as did not want to make a fuss. Agnes Mary swapped this with no hassle and no extra charge. This will be a new place for us to try on our weekly dinner slots now. Fussy eaters so finding somewhere can be difficult and now we have been twice it proves the first time was not a fluke for the food. Really enjoyed it. Service being fast is also a bonus.

Booked a table here for a business lunch. Everyone enjoyed the food, and although the place was busy, the service was still efficient.

Lovely little motel/hotel. Lots of free parking which is well lit and secure. Really nice spacious rooms, great open plan restaurant with tables to suit 1, 2, 3 or more, including groups, families, and kids. Separate function room for celebrations, parties, functions, etc, that are usually booked out at weekends. Food is great with a takeaway service, which seems to be popular. Dusablity access, seating outside with a separate smoking area and safe place sevure cycles. The staff are immensely supportive and friendly.
