We were a party of 7 who dined last night for the first time at this lovely restaurant.
The service was so friendly and attentive and the food was cooked to perfection.
Some of our party had the special which was ribeye - they said it was 10/10. Everyone really enjoyed the food! I had the pork belly to start and beef shin for main and both were amazing. The drinks were reasonably priced and overall it was a lovely night.
The only small thing was, we were celebrating a very special birthday and had mentioned it to the waiter but it wasn’t acknowledged.
Special mention for the olives! They were delicious:)
We look forward to returning.
I stopped by on my way home after a long day, within half an hour of closing and I honestly expected to be turned away due to the time of night. They welcomed me in with warmth, beautiful meditative music, and a spirit of generosity. I I told them the meal I like, anticipating a restricted menu, but I was blown away with their enthusiasm to cook it fresh for me – they even asked me for my spice preference – and unlike other places whose notion of "mild" is blazing hot, the food was completely on point with my spice tolerance. I ordered palak paneer and two rotis and I couldn't believe the quality of the food. It tasted AMAZING and was probably one of the best palak paneer dishes I've had. This experience far exceeded my expectations for a late night meal this close to closing time. I love this place and will definitely be back! Thanks again guys!
Quiet little café with delicious food and lovely staff. The French toast was to die for!
One minor thing is parking - arrive early to make sure you can walk to it if needed.
The best compote, the broth is also ok.
Two cutlets per portion, but EXTREMELY thin, heavily saturated with fat.
The worst was ground. I've never had anything worse, hard as... hard to cut with a knife, taste sour.
The meat in kartacz is poultry, probably from broth, it's not kartacz anymore.
Very nice service.
nice atmosphere and waiting staff however the beef ragu was far too rich and creamy and not nearly tomato-y enough! would try again but perhaps avoid the creamy dishes!
Sadly Pavement has now closed, thank you for the lovely nights we had in here and happy retirement.
Pavement is reopening as a mexican pub/ restaurant, so I'll update when I've been in.
Absolutely outstanding. We ordered each of the dishes on the menu and they were all 10 out of 10. Young staff enthusiastic despite the closure.
But wait.......we can never go back despite being very keen to do so,,,,why you ask...well its now closed down. Now if this restaurant was in the Merchant City/Finniston or the south side it would have been packed out every day, but because of its location right in the city centre it didn't stand a chance. Oh and the lack of publicity did not help. So guys you have missed the boat on this one, mores the pity.
