Meat Joint Scottish Steakhouse in Glasgow City

If I could have given 6 starts, I would have. Absolutely incredible. I had tge fillet, my husband had the ribeye. Both cooked to perfection. Came with fries and peppercorn sauce which you could substitute to a different sauce if you wanted. Also had the baked mac 'n' cheese as a side. It was sublime. Fantastic, friendly service too. Absolutely top tier.

Suprised how small this place was , nice and cosy in a bustling part of town , we were early 30 mns but they still took us the service here is top class and very attentive we opted for the tommahawk steak 1200g at £86 with two small sauces and two sides , the sauces were amazing i can highly recommend the truffle diane sauce flavour smell and taste we had the chips and garlic herb potatoes were amazing too then came the steak whilst it wasnt cooked in our opion medium rare more like rare ,with still on the bone was blue we said nothing and ate it although 1200g of meat perhaps not, is that weight including the bone ? And our plates were stone cold meant the food on them cooled down a lot faster so if you visit here give the tommahawk a miss other than that amazing night amazing service highly recommended

Just wow!! Did a little research before finding this little gem. Located at the upper end of Sauchiehall Street, it would be easy to walk straight past. Don’t!! It’s a tiny restaurant, only seating about 30 people max, which makes it a perfect hideaway with attention to detail and incredible service from Mark, one of the owners of this small family business. Food was sensational, presentation beautiful, and portion sizes just right. We shared the Chateaubriand for main, which was stunning. Great value too! Would highly recommend and we would definitely come back next time we’re in Glasgow!

I can safely say, this was possibly one of the best meals of my life! We had an amazing sharing steak and sides, some scallops and sticky toffee pudding for dessert! Mark was such a wonderful host - and he and my husband had a wonderful chat about the hospitality industry (and Parmesan!). Enjoyed our meal so much and will definitely be back on our next Glasgow visit!

First time at Meat Joint and will be back, food and service fantastic, was here with my girlfriend and the staff made us feel welcome and very friendly and had a chat with us when we were leaving, the steak was one of my the best I have ever had and the chips and peppercorn sauce was delicious too, 10/10

WOW. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As always, greeted by the amazing, smart, and such well turned out staff. Swiftly sat down to our table. Was here with my dad for his birthday and my godson and his bday. Also, I took my best mate along, too. Service 5 star, food is just beautifully presented and tastes out of this world. Great drinks selection, and the wines are delightful. Haggis starter and the duck egg starter..... could eat them every day. Steaks all cooked perfectly, and if I was to tell anyone my fav, it would defo be the venison. But I can now say I've tried the whole menu..... there was not 1 thing I didn't like. It's all absolutely amazing. Thanks again to the hard-working team for making a special day even more memorable.

It's a very good option, with excellent food and great wine options for around Europe. Nice to get so good grilled meat in Scotland! Recommended for a special occasion. And the people are great, but let's face it: everyone is great in Scotland!!!

Tired of the poor service - and interminable noise! - at our usual and once great Glasgow dining venues - 'Anchor Line' and 'The Citizen' - I checked out the online reviews for steak houses in Glasgow in general. 'Meat Joint' seemed to attract numerous 5-star ratings so I booked for our annual post-Christmas December get together. Unlike the other venues, 'Meat Joint' is small, cosy, very welcoming and with a very acceptable noise level. Starters! Three king scallops and one haggis, neeps and tatties! Absolutely delicious although we may order double portions of the scallops next time. On to the mains! Having checked out the gallery, I saw that their fillet steaks were thick so I up-scaled my 'blue' to 'blue rare', on reflection, a wise decision. 'Blue' would have left the centre of the fillet steak cold. Two of my guests chose the chateaubriand medium-rare. The fourth chose the rack of lamb. Sides were beef fat roast potatoes, mac 'n' cheese and huge onion rings. All cooked to absolutely delicious perfection with empty plates all round. To desserts! Sticky toffee puddings and port for me. With several gin and tonics, two bottles of wine and an additional two glasses of the very acceptable house red, we left fully satisfied and looking forward to our next visit in March 2024. All in all, a 5-star experience. Our first visit to 'Meat Joint' but definitely NOT our last. Roll on March 2024! Already booked!

So I went here last night and had tummahock steak for two''' , two sides two sauces,,, firstly service is great! The guys know there stuff! Wonderful meal here. Busy Friday night and restaurant full. Nice interior and really clean and modern. The rib eye steak is the biggest I’ve ever had, wow! Come hungry as the steaks are huge! Chips were really good too. Husband had the venison which he thought was the best venison he’s ever tasted. Sticky toffee pudding was amazing and lovely soft sponge with beautiful sauce and ice cream. Staff were accommodating and really good banter too. We will be back.

Fantastic food with fantastic service, these guys are really delivering. Would not hesitate to return when back in Glasgow!! Only recommendation from me is that it’s very bright in there and I think softer lighting would help the ambience but overall…. Top marks!

Fantastic find, starter of Barra scallops were so tasty and the ribeye was cooked to perfection, tasty and huge. Very friendly manager, couldnt do enough for us, we arrived with no booking but not a problem and the place got very busy on a Wednesday night in Jan which is a testament to how good it is.

This restaurant is fantastic! We frequently go out for steak and this really lived up to expectations. The service was absolutely perfect. A big thanks to Mark, Tom and Aidan for making the experience so great. We will definitely be back!

Arrived to be told two out of the five possible starters were not available. The two that sounded best.too. Thought about just walking but would not be able to get a decent restaurant at short notice. Starters we had were haggis neeps one and soup. Both ok. Nothing great. Steaks came. Both recommended medium rare. My wife’s likes hers done but more and was cooked right. After I had some of my ribeye I realised it was not medium rare. More towards well done. It was taken away no problem and recommended a different cut as they said ribeye may come back similar as they use a thermometer. Asked for a sirloin. Sirloin came out and was one of worst steaks I ever had. Really tough. Like it had been cooked for cold. Are what o could. Didn’t want to seem a difficult customer. Payed the not Cheap bill and left. Positives are the staff are fantastic. Lady from South Africa served us and was fantastic. Wine nice too. That’s about it.

The only reason I didn’t go 5 star was there were 2 starters not available so that left a limited selection. That’s the negative , let’s focus on positives. Welcome was friendly on arrival. Shown to our table and offered menus. Drinks order taken quickly and asked if we had any questions. We ordered mixed salad and Fish tartlet, both were well presented and very tasty. We had 1 Fillet and 1 Sirloin, our cooking preferences were exactly what we received. I would highlight to anyone who hasn’t dined here that chips, sauce , mushroom , tomato and salad garnishes are included. Onion rings are crackers , huge and tasty. Wine choice is fine and very reasonable ( markup are not a rip off ) Champagne and Chardonnay by the glass and a bottle of Primitivo. Didn’t do dessert other than an affogato and that was also excellent. Final word on service from I hope I’m correct in saying South Africa guy and possibly also SA girl. Both were attentive professional and friendly. Hope to return soon.
