Firstly, don't be put off by the entrance. Step inside and after a few steps upstairs you'll walk into an authentic East African restaurant. The vibe is laid-back dining with main dishes served up to be shared by everyone at the table. We tried the Lamb Sambusa starter, then shared the vegan Injera (pancake), and honey wine. They were all excellent. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu 😄 Thank you.

Have dined here twice and both times had a great experience. Good quality food and wonderful flavours, so different from any other restaurant I’ve visited in Glasgow. They offer a good range of meat and vegan dishes and a variety of African beers. The staff are really lovely, genuine people who provide a very friendly and professional service. The spaciousness of the restaurant is a real positive feature. It makes for a relaxed experience, with tables not jammed up next to each other as often happens in city centre restaurants. Reasonably priced too.

I don't feel nice having to write this out but having ate here this isn't what I expected after all the praise I heard about this location Family and I go in and it's almost 2 hours before we see a starter, slowly followed by the mains, and when the food did arrive it was bland it felt like the portions weren't big enough and I ended up leaving hungry Yes the staff that were here were nice but we never got an explanation of why the service was horribly slow that night until the end and after reading other similar reviews I honestly don't see the reason or need to come back any time soon Shoutout to the nice girls who give us some of their birthday cake though

Had absolutely fantastic birthday dinner here. The staff were very friendly and inviting. Howie took excellent care of us during the entire meal, recommending wonderful dishes, showing first-timers the best way to prepare and eat dishes. The atmosphere and pace was a welcome change of pace - staff continually offered and refreshed coffee as well as recommended and provided drinks. I don't necessarily feel rushed out of other restaraunt these days, but this place clearly spends extra attention on encouraging chat and engaging with customers. The food itself was delicious. I'll always jump at the chance to eat some Injira and the accompanying dishes were good too, especially the lamb and lentils. Great options for veggie and vegan friends too. Will definitely be back.

Amazing, 10/10. I recommend trying the drink called Mes, its like a sweet honey white wine, very good. The st george lager was also nice. We shared the vegan platter which came with injera (no need for extra ones as it's quite filling) and it was DELICIOUS. There was a nice music in the background not too loud and the decor was nice too. Great enthousiastic staff as well :) a bit sad they didn't have eritrean deserts though

The quality of the food was really very good. Some portions a bit too small. Some already strongly seasoned. You have to like it. We found it very tasty. However, you shouldn't go here with a larger group. We had reserved at 8 p.m. and were 10 people. So we knew we were coming. Unfortunately, we waited almost 2 hours, until almost 10 p.m., for our food. It was pretty intense with hunger from 8 p.m. All guests who came after us had their food before us. The starter from one of the group didn't come at all. Wasn't served with the main course either. However, drinks were replenished quite quickly. When we finally got the food, the lady wanted to explain to us how we should eat. Nobody was up for it anymore because they were too hungry. When we wanted to pay, we were initially told that it was only possible in cash. We were asked whether no one said this when we made the reservation. No, nobody pointed it out. None of us had any cash with us. After some back and forth, an EC device finally appeared. And after some more back and forth, each couple could pay individually and not one person could give everything back to each other. It would also be stupid without cash or PayPal. Conclusion, the food is good, but then not worth waiting so long.... Only goes for 2 or 4 maybe. All in all, we didn't feel as comfortable as such a visit should be.

Genuinely stunning food here, not had anything like it in Glasgow, great fun to eat tearing up the lovely pancake bread, with so many different flavours to accompany it. The mixed platter came with a large selection of dishes suitable to get a full experience of both veg and meat as it came with a delicious potato esque dish, a broccoli dish, a lovely lamb curry and a chicken jumble. It came with two massive pancakes that ended up being the most fun part of the meal as eating with your hands made it that little bit more satisfying to eat. Topping that with the brilliant lamb samulas to start, as well as some excellent mead and Ethiopia beers this place is really a must visit for the city centre and easily the best place I’ve tried in a while. Also big props to Aly our server who walked us through the dishes and recommended us the beers. Thank you so much for a lovely service! It’s class, would eat again. Nice staff. Date? The service was incredibly slow, 2.5 hours to be exact, don’t go here for lunches. The server was quite demanding, telling folk to eat more and how to eat. Recommended dishes is fine but it was overkill and controlling. The food itself was okay, the lamb samosa were nice. However the vegan dishes were practically inedible. The pancake tasted like vinegar and the lentils could only be eaten with the kale or else both were inedible. The venue is nice and clean, which was evident by the man mopping the floors with bleach while folk ate. Not sure that’s really appropriate. It could be it wasn’t for my palette I can’t recommend.

Went here with a friend for lunch. Got a mixed platter. Two meat dishes, lamb zigni and chicken spree, and a few vegetarian dishes, Misir, Alicia. This is all served in bowls on top of injera(A homemade flat spongy bread) that you dump the contents of the bowl on and eat with your hands. The flavours here are delicious and fresh. Everything was tasty and enjoyable, and also something a bit diffrent too. The stand outs were the lamb zigni, which is so rich and morish you could sit and eat that until they threw you out. The Misir was also incredibly flavourful, especially for a vegetarian dish, as sometimes little effort is made preparing them, this is not the case here and you can appreciate they put as much love into both menus. We finished off with the coffee, which is both made and served in thier own unique way and was a great way to end the meal. The staff were friendly and helpful, making great recommendations to have with our meal. Cant wait to go back.

A great place for a group to eat out; I have been twice now and loved it! Delicious food, great flavours and not too spicy (some not spicy at all). The staff are friendly hosts and it’s a relaxed atmosphere. We were a group of nine, half vegetarians. We got starters, beer, a large shared platter with three mains added with it - all shared between five and it was plenty. The meat eaters did the same - more than enough food. We ended with delicious roasted-on-site traditional coffee and spiced tea. We spent a relaxed 3-4 hours, pleasant atmosphere and not too noisy so you could enjoy conversation and we were placed under no hurry to leave. Such a treasure to find for a different chilled night out - easy option for a large group. Ask for help if you’re not sure on ordering, and it was reasonable price too. I’ll be back for the delicious vegan/veggie food and to try the honey mead next time!

Food: Flavours are nothing new, very close to any Indian, Chinese and other Mediterranean cuisines you may have tried up to this point. Maybe it was the food we ordered though, I will try something different in the future! The concept of eating using only hands, not even the spoon provided was interesting, will ignore it in the future though as it was too messy. Service: Service was great, but they forgot a couple of stuff like napkins or the tea and was pretty obvious the server responsible for our table didn't want to be there. Atmosphere: Employees were friendly, the place was darker than expected from a restaurant, possibly because it functions as a bar too, but at 4-5pm with the main function of restaurant a bit of light would be appreciated!

Daniel especially was amazing, he suggested we try the "Mitmita" -powdered seasoning mix with bird's eye chilli peppers.. ooof!! Adding it to all the dishes made it 1000 times better. The interior is gorgeous, the staff are extremely friendly with a clear, burning passion for Mosob and, on top of all that, the food is delicious! We tried: • Meat sambusas • Chicken tibsi (mild) • Lamb alicha • Lentil ades (mild) All main dishes came with 1 injera included in the menu price. Our server was corteous enough to advise us of this which helped us to avoid over-ordering. Every dish arrived to the table piping hot and bursting with flavour! We genuinely could not fault one dish and I would absolutely return to re-order this exact set. Our server also kindly took the time to explain how to enjoy our dishes and the cultural significance behind the method too which made the dining experience all the more special! Positives: +Vegan options🥳. +Welcoming atmosphere (decor, lovely background music, staff, and fellow diners). +Staff were presentable and had great people skills. They also told us the proper way of eating the vegan platter - great advice which improved the dining experience 👍. +Presentable restaurant. +Lovely food, we both enjoyed the vegan platter; it was very filling and we liked all the options (the Shiro was our favourite). +Speciality wine went down well (they also offer specialty beer and coffee). +Generous quantities - great value. -Latest update; had to downgrade the service star rating, it was very slow today at lunchtime. +Update: on my second visit I did not experience any of the negatives I experienced first time (i.e. the service was quick and efficient, and still friendly. And the gluten-free injera was ready👍) Also the ceremony coffee was great; smooth and powerful.+ Overall, a nice experience; I do recommend visiting and will be back. Tips for fellow diners: 1) Call the day before, or earlier same day, to remind them of your gluten-free needs to save a very long wait (if they have forgotten; insist on rice instead). 2) "Serves 3-4 people" really does mean what it says in this restaurant, recommend ordering smaller if there are only 2 of you as you will definitely be full afterwards; you will get your money's worth, it is indeed great value, especially in these times.

I've seen all the Ethiopian andEritrean places in Glasgow but this place is the best so far, great reception, welcoming service and Great food. As a suggestion on the meal that i had today the quanta firfir wasn't that nice, i think the problem was the injera rather than that keep up the good work and i will come again soon.

Would have been a 5 if portion size was little bit bigger in line with price tag. Nevertheless, worth to visit thanks to the concept.

Very tasty 'hands-on' food! Coffee afterwards is also recommended! Tip: Ask whether the dish in question is spicy. If in doubt, use something mild or add cream cheese.

Delicious. Very friendly and happy to help in choosing the food. Also great they are happy to make milder versions (which I need). I had never had this food before and it’s one of the nicest things I’ve eaten in ages. I like the atmosphere because it is spacious, relaxed and I like African music. The traditional tea goes well with the food.

Excellent Ethiopian restaurant near the stations. We had a meal for two with meats and vegetables in 5 plates and a spiced tea. A treat

Mosob was a fantastic experience! The vegan platter was delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home. The traditional coffee ceremony was a lovely touch, adding to the authentic atmosphere. Mosob is a must-visit!

I had the small, mild, vegan platter and spiced tea. Daniel the waiter was charming. He showed me the proper way to eat the food. It was all utterly delicious. Just the right amount for me to feel full without being uncomfortably stuffed. It was a quiet time, and I was served in a relaxed and efficient manner. Great vegan selection, clearly marked on the menu. I will definitely come here again when I need to eat in Glasgow. So convenient for Queen Street station too. Thank you to Daniel and the Mosob team for a very positive visit 🙏🏼💕

Probably our favourite restaurant in Glasgow. Food is always so fresh and full of flavour. Staff are wonderful too. Fantastic 'naturally' vegan options too, especially the vegan platter.

I come here often with my partner, and every time we are consistently impressed with the quality of the bountiful vegan options on offer. Particular favourites are the platter, the fit-fit and the potato stew!! It took us a long time to come across this place, a real hidden gem which has made me question how East African cuisine is not more popular. We do find that the waiters are very forward regarding the preferred method for eating with injera (tipping all food out of bowls onto the bread) when we explain we don't like to do this. Personally, we prefer not to as we find it makes sharing far more difficult and compromises the structural integrity of the injera. Instead, we scoop with the injera while the dishes remain in the bowls. It may not be the most authentic method and mean no disrespect, but we find it is easier and more enjoyable for us personally. Other than this small point, we cannot speak more positively of Mosob. The staff, including the head chef, are always very attentive and friendly, stopping by often to check on our experience.

We ordered a 3 tier pre iced sponges with decorations, the cakes arrived to us in Clacton, they were packed brilliantly we knew exactly what day it was arriving, looked amazing, we added some of our own decoration ideas on as well on the day, this was for our wedding cake looked just as we wished at a fraction of cost compared to prices of local bakers/cake makers. The cake was amazing, had so many people comment on it. The communication from them was helpful throughout. Thank you so much to team at Cloud Nine xxx

Great service, really friendly staff, we got the crab tartlet and the haggis starter. The tartlet was great however the haggis was disappointing. The chateaubriand and the sides we got were superb only criticism was no veg options for sides on menu and the peppercorn sauce was over seasoned. The tart for dessert wasn't great either it was like yogurt in a pastry case. Will definitely return

Highly recommend lamb wrap, very tasty and resembles flavours tried in Arabia. Salad was tolerable. Hummus however was diarrhoea like so we had to throw it in a bin.
