Shawarma Star - Charcoal Grill in Glasgow City

It was the best decision in Glasgow to eat in this restaurant. Everything was just perfect and the food was super delicious. Thank you for everything.

The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is very clean and good, and the treatment is wonderful I wish they would open another branch in Germany

The best shawarma i have ever trid

After over a year in Glasgow this has to be my favourite place to eat. I've been 3 times now and would go more often if I could afford it. First time I tried the lamb and hummus I fell in love with it and have ordered it ever since - especially good with rice and a chilli sauce. This is unlike me - I usually mix things up as much as possible but this dish is that good! I dig the atmosphere, the staff are really nice and the service is super quick. Looking forward to coming again in the new year!

We had wraps and fries. Food was delicious and staff were friendly. The bread was freshly baked. Good price also.

Good proper lamb over charcoal! None of this shaved doner cardboard crap. Pricing is fair and service is fast 5/5

Went around 11pm and found the place on a pretty quiet streetz due to construction. Was absolutely blown away by the food. The lamb shawarma was incredible, and the garlic sauce was good with the fries. The staff is polite and very pleasant. Would come back anytime and highly recommend!

Do not be fooled by the location. This place used to be a chippy and I popped in one night for a quick munch, realised the chippy had gone and this was in its place. Took one look at the Kebab Grill and thought "this is the real deal" it wasn't the usual factory produce meat that looks like its been sprayed on with hose, this was proper juicy layered slices of real lamb. I ordered the lamb Star Wrap that came with seasoned fries and a dollop of Aioli, also got a can of diet Irn Bru, all came to just over £10 bargain! The meat was juicy, hearty, well seasoned and tender as could be, the wrap was perfectly filled with salad, not bursting at the seams. Chips appeared to have a light dusting or oregano I think and the dip looked homemade. I was thoroughly satisfied with my meal, absolutely delicious, I have been back several times now. I recommend you try this place out and afterwards you will want to your vote in for them at the UK best kebab awards

I'm a frequent traveller and shawarma star is a must when I'm travelling through Scotland always great food and service, I have stopped here multiple times and I don't plan to stop, by far the best shawarma that I've ever had. Staff were very welcoming and made great suggestions. Makes the drive from West London to north Scotland worth while. Was needed after climbing ben nevis.

Best kebab you can get in town 10/10

Good location almost right in the center of Glasgow. Fairly clean for this type of place. The decor is modest, bar-like, but the music and accessories refer to the Turkish tradition, so it's a plus for the additional atmosphere of the place. Prices start from £10 per portion per plate, so it's quite cheap. The food is really very good and the lamb meat tastes really good. The fries are large and fried just right. Sauces and additions to choose from. The humus is really very good, so I recommend choosing it. The portion is large so you can easily eat it.

Used to come here and the food was always good, tonight was my first time back for a while and I was a bit apprehensive with new people behind the counter, No need to worry THE chicken breast wrap was probably the best I’ve tasted. Service was a tad slow, but it was well worth the wait.

We were looking for a place to eat something delicious and we came across this place. We found the naan bread delicious, it is made fresh by hand and the meat is deliciously seasoned and very juicy. 😋 highly recommended!!! We will definitely return on our next visit to Glasgow. 🥰🥰👍👍

Meh. Quite expensive for a small wrap and chips. Tasted ok, but nothing special and certainly not worth the price.

I had the star box (mixed shawarma) - the portion was nice and generous, and the price was pretty good too. However, the meat was decent. I’ve tried many shawarmas, and it was not the most memorable or best I’ve had. There wasn’t nothing wrong with how they cooked the meat but I think it could’ve been more flavourful, perhaps with spices or something to hit your tongue when you had a bit of it This is the place to go if you want to have a good sized portion with rice, meat and some salad!

Just got a takeaway for the family and I had to leave a review. Ordered chicken and lamb shawarma, chicken wings and tabbouleh. We got a selection of sauces and starters including hummus and the most delicious baba ganoush with a side of chips! Food was fresh and by far the best shawarma in Glasgow City! Will definitely be back, even my fussy eating kids devoured it! 10/10!

Top tier shawarma. They make their own fantastic naan bread and the meat spits are high quality. Shawarma King level. I come here regularly, the food is absolutely delicious and the staff are really friendly. Without a doubt one of Glasgow’s best kebabs.

One of the few mediterranean resturants where you find clean, tastey, non-greasy and well spiced food. Prices compared to portions are great. I’m from the states and whenever I’ve traveled on holiday to the UK I always seek out a shawarma because we just don’t have one at home. This was my 2nd attempt since being in Scotland to find one I could write home about and holyyyyy did I find it at Shawarma King. Incredible mixed shawarma and chips with garlic sauce, I’m only in Glasgow one more day/night but I’ve already planned my trip back with my wife tomorrow night. The service was quick and very friendly, do yourself a favor and get a meal from them, absolutely incredible flavor!

My favorite oriental shawarma shop with fresh wraps and falafel, delicious hummus, tasty chicken and lamb. No one else in Glasgow has this delicious kebab, for this price and fast service.

After a long day of work I was originally headed to pizza crolla but they closed 20 minutes early. I happened across this place and it was the top contender for best shawarma I've had. I'm originally from Canada and this blows all of Canadian shawarma out of the waters.

Always try and find kurdish food it's just the best. This is a nice little takeaway really cheap. Only downside is I have never had to pay for a tea. The Shawarma rap is beautiful. Well worth a visit for a quick snack

The reviews are correct! Excellent chicken shawarma, used to the meat being dry but it wasn't! Freshly made wrap dough that is well toasted and just rounds out the great meat and veggie filling. Service was fast and friendly. Was honestly lovely.

Got the lamb shawarma for lunch. Good service. Very generous portions of meat. Unexpectedly, the lamb is overcooked a little bit so it's a bit dry yet crunchy and gives you a hint of chargrill flavor. If you prefer the meat on the crunchy side, this is the best one in town. A bit disappointed on the wrap tho. It's crispy on the surface but a bit stretchy in the middle. Prefer it so be on the soft side. Worth a try if you pass by😃

I buy always shawarma chicken, hummus and tabbouleh salad and always I was happy but 2 days ago I order again this same and I was angry because tabbouleh salad not suppose to have a red pepper and lettuce and test was rubbish, before lot of times I ordered and was perfect like a supposed to be parsley.mint.tomato

Best kebab wrap you'll find anywhere, and the warmest welcome and friendly service too. Can sit in or takeaway. Liked the nice staff, very good quality tasty food, nicely served, nice atmosphere and there's customer toilets too. Definitely the place where we will eat whenever we are in Glasgow.

Absolutely amazing in every way

We visited today for a bit of a late lunch, my partner recommended. I was very impressed, the mixed shawarma was absolutely delicious, the meats were lovely and juicy, amazing to get fresh bread. Great selection of drinks, I tried a Shani which I enjoyed. I will definitely be back to try the hummus and tabbouleh. It was just great value and the restaurant and kitchen very clean, and the chef was really friendly and welcoming of course.

It feels like my home town Shawarma from Nazareth, it is really sooo good. It's been a while since I had such a very good shawarma in Europe!!! Thank you and keep the good taste going....

Went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The staff were very friendly and the food was absolutely amazing. The chips were seasoned to perfection and it was even better with the sauce. Would definitely recommend.
