You can enjoy the best soup in a tiny restaurant inside a church. All ingredients are fresh and bakeries are delicious. If you get there after 12:30 you should wait for a long time to find a table, but it really worth it. The manager said that at the end of the day all leftovers will be distributed among homeless and poor people as a charity.

Passed many a times and missed this hidden gem. My cousin who frequently dines here invited two of us who had never been we were not disappointed. Yes you may have to wait to for a table we didnt think this was an issue as we knew there is no reserving tables it's a cafe not a restaurant. The cafe is very clean, small menu offering good value and quality food while waiting we had lovely chat with cafe Chaplain & staff. Most importantly is their ethos I will definitely be back soon. Keep up the good.

Had a business meeting here today, so just had coffee's - but a carafe of water is given as standard as well. Good coffee, greats service, and a good place to sit and chat. It was pretty busy, but the tables are far enough apart to allow space between groups.

We visited with friends who introduced us to this gem a number of years ago. Suffice to say that the soups were excellent (sweet potato red pepper and harissa, Moroccan chicken, and red lentil and vegetable) and the scones (goat's cheese and carmelised onion, sultana and vanilla) were very tasty and filling. Service is always good with very pleasant helpful staff. Excellent!

If I could give a zero star then I would. This is the second time we have tried to have something to eat here but again we never managed it. Staff/volunteers said 10 minute table wait but we waited 10 minutes and customers who had been seated before we entered where still waiting for their orders to be taken. We are a family of 3 adults and 1 toddler so we were waiting for a table to seat four, yet there were couples sat at a table for four when tables for two were free and it seemed that the staff couldn't move the empty tables for two together to seat us. The staff/volunteers seem to have no idea how to provide customer service. We went elsewhere for lunch.

A wonderful tranquil oasis right in the centre of Glasgow. The soup, cakes, scones ..... everything is just wonderful. Fresh, full of flavour and served with a smile. Homeless people are given food for free and with dignity so it would be appropriate to leave a donation as you pay if you are able to although no-one there will press you to do so. Great as a meeting place or for solo dining. A safe, friendly haven which I cannot recommend enough.

We moved to southside just over a year ago and Toro has been such a find! The loveliest staff, the best coffee and the cakes, pastries and bread are wonderful. A regular Sunday morning haunt for us, just brilliant!

May I begin by saying I am not an expert but a keen amateur. I have a Rancilio Sylvia classic and Rancilio Rocky Grinder and my own belief is that the type of been you need corresponds to your Grinder and setting. May I also say these coffee beans are all excellent, but I have found different results with each of them. With Papercup I have serious channelling I believe there is much more moisture in the bean andto be honest didn’t get a decent pull on any shots. Tin donkey was a great tasting coffee, but again I had to adjust my grind setting which is at zero on the rocky; despite numerous attempts at both paper cup and tindonkey I failed miserably. however I have 100% success with DearGreen on any of their beans. I don’t think there is much difference in the quality of these beans- I think it comes down to user error or capacity to pull good shots. I have learned to clean out my Grindr courtesy of Gail from Seattle coffee ha ha and I’ve owned this machine for roughly 10 years. DearGreen coffee works for me I hope you find this helpful
