The best restaurants in Edinburgh and Lothian

I bought a large pizza at this place for the first time but unfortunately it was not tasty at all But because I was hungry, I had to finish the pizza to some extent It had a very special bad taste when I ate it, it was as if there were seeds on my tongue I think Domino's pizzas are much better than here But I don't know how the rest of the food tastes, maybe it's delicious, but the pizza was not tasty at all

Came cold and no straw Chips soggy not good service at all

I purchased 1 biryani palak paneer naan is very taste less very disappointed food not recommended my money 25.50 pounds it’s waste

I DO NOT recommend this site at all. Terrible service and very little professionalism. The girl who helped me yesterday named Darcy was rude and impolite to the point of saying enough. There were 4 people working at 3:30 p.m. and a long queue and only 1 serving the public with tremendous rudeness. I will never come back again.

Guy at reception is very rude . Hope put gentleman or good staff behind counter as they look drunk or took drugs.

Ordered off Uber eats first time trying here the food was good the portions were massive definitely be ordering again

Delivery took 1 hour 45 mins and food was cold by the time it arrived at 23.45. We could not eat anything except the 1 portion of fried rice. The BBQ sauce on special fried rice/mushrooms/tub was so salty we could not eat it at all The Banana Fritters looked like they were microwaved as the batter was still White, not golden brown like it was fried We still have the whole lot in the tubs if you want it all back Complete waste of £26.50 Ordered from here a few times but will never order again, not sure if it new folk in kitchen but the whole meal was a disaster

Place to go when you're about to fly

I visited the restaurant just after 6pm. It was fairly quiet with it being a Monday. I was waiting for 5 minutes before a member of staff acknowledged me despite them having seen me they were too busy to chat. When I eventually got my table, I went to get the meat and was waiting another 6 minutes as there were no staff at the counter. When I eventually got dinner, I was given the 4 smallest pieces of meat and everything was barely warm (including the sides and gravy). I’m not sure if the hot plates had been turned off in error. Nobody even asked how my meal was. I would not go back.

Haggis Supper + Sausage supper. The batter around both of them were hard and felt like they had been heated in a microwave which dried them out. The Haggis tasted peppery and of not much else. The chips were good if a bit dry until I put some syrup in them. Left me wanting for something else to eat.

Good local greggs, good usual food & cakes, good coffee. Seating in there, but normally busy. Staff need to open the locked toilet door for you. The toilet wasn't that clean. the floor was wet with toilet paper lying about. Staff do their best, always helpful.

When I stayed there. (2000-2001) And I believe it was all west Lothian homeless people. 99% of people were sound. No one bothered me. Generally. Most staff are friendly but as usual you get the odd 1 who thinks they are above all others. Looked like a real rubbish job to be fair. I was lucky and had the room above the bar. First two nights were unbearable but then COVID lockdown happened. Silence. Plus top WiFi (in bar underneath) all staff were generally courteous and polite. Greggs occasionally filled out boots with pies/cakes etc. was actually pretty good. Maids every day etc. not sure the state now but this place used to be a MAJOR function place for weddings etc. hopefully it managed to attain some of its formal glory. Good luck anyway guys and thanks for having me for a year. :)

Best chippy I’ve been to in a long time, chips r absolutely spot on, doner kebab was delicious and the calzones are spot on. Worth the trip from where ever you come from. Lav it
