Definitely not worth it—spent £18 on fish and chips with terrible quality and less quantity

Came here with my 6 month old daughter and dog. Sat outside in the sun, staff member suggested I move pram into a better location and gave us a big table. They were happy to meet my dog too, super friendly.

Spaghetti pomodoro was 10/10, fish and chips were great as well

The stuff is so nice and kind. Food delicious especially sea food spaghetti and pizza with char grilled chicken. Must come again!! Thank you 💝

Gf burger option is just no bun, pretty overpriced for what it is but would be great hangover food if it wasn’t $$$

While in Edinburgh last summer for the Tattoo and The Fringe we needed something to eat that catered for both of us, and also able to get a seat. We found this place by chance and decided to try it. What we had was enjoyable. A seafood pizza and a baked potato with beans and cheese. We shared a deep fried Mars bar with ice cream as seeing as we were in Scotland you’ve got to have one, it was really nice. We’d go again for some lunch inbetween shows. Quite small inside but ok for the time we needed to be there. The only thing I couldn’t give a good score or remark about was the toilet, it’s just one small toilet at the back of the dining area but it was quite dirty, along with the sink and door, all it needs is regular disinfecting and it’ll also make it smell better too.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was far too expensive, and it was clear that it had been reheated in the microwave. For £25, I received a very small kebab that was not worth the money. The quality and quantity were both subpar. Additionally, the salad tasted like chlorine, and it was obvious that the ketchup had been refilled with a cheaper alternative in the original bottle. The establishment is run by a team who seem to be exploiting tourists, which I find unacceptable. Overall, I do not recommend this place due to the poor value for money and unsatisfactory food quality.

We were staying in Edinburgh for 3 days. The only place that we visited for diner and breakfast. The sfeer is really cozy and staff is really polite and friendly. We really appriciate this place. Cheers to everyone that is working at Dunedin Kitchen!

The only thing that made me give it two stars was the friendly service. The food was a complete disaster. An Angus burger that doesn't deserve the name and it's actually a shame that an animal had to die for the product. The kebab, miles away from kebab as we know it. Here, too, meat is simply warmed up in the microwave and the whole thing costs the equivalent of 80 euros

Really cosy place with wonderful staff !! Best Chai Latte in town, we went every days there during our trip for this one.

We went there once for breakfast and then came back everyday for their chaï latte. Very good food, very nice people, I highly recommend this place for a hot drink or a brunch !

If I could give 0 star I would, kebab was dry and stiff looked and tasted like it was 4 days old. Chips were half soft half crunchy… make your mind up. Carbonara was rubbish too. AND to top it all off the ketchup wasn’t even Heinz but served in a Heinz bottle completely diabolical and against the law. For £21 this is not on.

Do not waste your time and money. The food was expensive, microwaveable, cheap, cold food. The staff were even worse.

Los precios también son absolutamente extorsivos para lo que obtiene. El restaurante era un lugar estrecho, poco acogedor donde nos aplastaron en una mesa que era demasiado pequeña. Absolutely awful. Do not go here. They will rip you off for food made in the microwave in less than 5 minutes. Not edible. Tried to leave and say we do not feel comfortable to eat this. They did not let us leave the establishment. Felt abused by staff.

Personal absolutamente inútil que «no podía hacer nada porque el propietario no estaba allí». Cuando el dueño apareció nos amenazaron y abusaron verbalmente. El peor lugar en el que he estado. My husband and I recently visited Dunedin Bistro Kitchen restaurant in Edinburgh while on vacation. We had a great and lovely experience. From the moment we walked in Irfan and Dilan took care of us. They were knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive to our needs. The food was great especially the lentil soup. We’ve never had such delicious and flavorful lentil soup before, so we were impressed, so impressed that I asked for the recipe and Irfan was so kind to write it down and give it to me🥰 We will definitely visit again when in town because of the great experience we had not just because of the delicious food but also because of the great service Irfan and Dilan provided us with. Thank you for a great service and experience!

We recently had the pleasure of dining at the Dunedin Kitchen in Edinburgh where Irfan and Dilan were total superstars!! We arrived on a cold & rainy afternoon and we were just craving a good soup to heal the soul when we walked in here and had some bowls of the best lentil soup we’ve ever had. This soup reminded me of my Grandmother’s cooking and I was blown away at how flavorful it was. Irfan then made us one of the best margaritas we ever had! We ended up having an absolute blast just following their recommendations and it ended up being one of the highlights of our time in this beautiful city. If you’re in the area and are craving some good food then you need to go to Dunedin Kitchen and ask for Irfan & Dilan. We are definitely stopping by again next time we’re in magical Edinburgh. i don’t usually write bad reviews but this was possibly the worst breakfast meal i’ve ever had in my life. Order the Eggs Benedict, sauce was horrible and FLOODED my plate. Muffins were soft barely toasted while the eggs were tiny and tasted bad. don’t waste your money here like i did. service was decent nothing spectacular just horrible food that i could not finish, took 3 bites and felt sick

I visited with my mom three times during our stay in Edinburgh, we loved it, food was amazing, service was amazing, can recommend.

Very good service and attention!! We only had a coffee and a pint, so we can't talk about the food but the coffee tasted very good.

Cottage Pie was tasty but I had to search for the meat. It comes with mash potatoes on top and was served with I side of mashed potatoes??? The whole plate was potatoes. Seriously, 5% mix greens, Maybe 10% meat filling and the rest was mash. Definitely not worth £17. The service was great. Very attentive and friendly. The service is saving them from a 2 star. (I tipped the server because it's not her fault the kitchen is bad) Steak Pie looked good, in it's own dish, and appropriate filling.

The food was very tasty we had fish and chips which was very good but the most amazing thing about that place is the friendly and nice people and atmosphere. Staff helped my friend who visited Scotland for the first time with unusual problems with the payment and trust which was very grateful. All the best

Located at the Bow Well and Grassmarket a vibrant area. Great Experience with the food the service and atmosphere. Very welcoming and the menu selections was perfectly diverse serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had a large group, and they quickly pulled tables together and made us feel welcome. Most of us had the fish and chips with breading. It was so crispy and the Haddock was moist. The atmosphere was cozy and the tables were rustic pieces of wood with ornate iron bases with comfortable seats. Best part is you can’t miss the Pink Doors and Stained Glass above them.

While on a Coach Tour, some comrades and ourselves were searching for a restaurant to accommodate a group of 8 and as many had a hankering for fish and chips we also needed one that could accommodate a shellfish allergy. After a few ‘failed’ attempts to meet the needs of our group, we came upon Dunedin! It was perfect for us. They squeezed us together at a few tables and everyone had a great meal. Attentive waiter and he even offered to take multiple group photos of our group. Personally, I had the vegetarian pakora and enjoyed my meal. We recommend eating at this restaurant.

The food was very tasty and was served quickly. However, the service wasn't very attentive... we had to ask twice if we could have another dessert and had to wait just as long until we could finally pay.

The best thing about here is the location, after this it's all downhill fast. The Cabanara we were sure it was a meal for 1 from a supermarket heated up. Zero effort, taste was non existent an portion size shocking. You were a number not a customer, can't imagine repeat business.

Honestly one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life. We were basically ushered in from the street and right away rushed to order. The inside is small, cramped and uninviting. The staff are rude and really don't care. Food was TERRIBLE. I actually left feeling slightly ill after eating half of the carbonara. They are definitely relying on having a fantastic location. We wondered why everywhere else was full and this place was dead...now we know.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Dunedin Kitchen! The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, with dim lighting and comfortable seating. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was exceptional. We ordered the Mushroom Pasta, Mac & Cheese and Pizza, it was cooked to perfection pizza was very nice. The flavors were rich and bold, and the portion size was generous. My companion's pasta's and pizza was equally impressive. Overall, I highly recommend Dunedin Kitchen for a dinning.

Came to this place today and it was amazing! We had pasta and a coke, so reasonably priced, great service, the food was AMAZING and the staff and owner were so, so friendly.

Lovely staff and delicious dessert! Irfan charmed us with his smiling face and exceptional service. We had deep fried Mars bars and it was halal as fried in a separate frier. We'll definitely visit again on our next trip.

The question "Are you finished with your starters?" Doesn't exist in that place. They will just throw the plates on the table and leave. But this is the least. The quality of food is absolutely unacceptable. The materials are probably the cheapest that can be found in the market, and the cooking quality is the worst I have ever seen in a restaurant. I have attached a photo of the seafood spaghetti and a photo of the salmon dish. Just have a look at the photos. Hilarious. The chef should be fired as soon as possible. 85 quids in the bin + stomach pain. Thank you for messing up our day. I won't accept any apologies and please don't reply. The photos are there to prove the mess.

4pm, place was half empty. I took my mother and my wife to have coffee and some cake. We ordered one coffee each and a slice of cake we’d share. We were told they could not serve us unless we ordered one piece of cake each. Hilarious. First time ever a waitress negociated with me on how much should I spend. Terrible service.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Dunedin Bistro Kitchen with family, and it was nothing short of a disaster. We spent £70 on what was supposed to be a delightful breakfast, but it turned out to be the biggest waste of money we've ever encountered. The food was beyond terrible, leaving us with lingering nightmares about the dreadful taste and quality. Calling kitchen staff cooks is an insult to all cooks all over the world. Even boiling water seemed like an insurmountable task for them. The atmosphere was equally appalling. The restaurant smelled like something old and decaying, which immediately ruined any chance of enjoying our meal. It was an environment that screamed neglect and poor hygiene. As for the service, it was the worst I've ever experienced. The staff were incredibly unfriendly and acted as if they were being held against their will. They had no interest in serving us and made us feel like a burden. In summary, Dunedin Bistro Kitchen provided a breakfast experience from hell. The food was atrocious, the atmosphere was revolting, and the service was abysmal. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs.

The pakora looked radioactive so we never ate it. The chicken was dry like tree bark on a hot summer day. The burger was dry, bland and sad. We counted 8 small fries with our burgers. This place is an awful tourist trap with no service and boggin food. Avoid.

AMAZING FOOD! Deliciously presented. The fried fish and chips was superb. Our server was really friendly and helpful and the food was served quickly. Had a piping hot pot of tea. Our entire meal was really good and I would definitely eat there again.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. This was our first visit to Scotland. We had a delicious lunch, pint, and whiskey drink while dining outside. We did look inside and it was quite beautiful. It was a rare sunny day, so we chose the outdoor setting. My husband's lasagna was delicious, as well as the accompanying side dishes. The turkey sandwhich was a perfect light lunch, because I had consumed so many snacks at the grass market. The staff was so attentive, especially Kashish. She was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations regarding the beer and liquor drinks. Lastly, the bathroom was extra clean and tidy.

Ordered pancakes with Nutella and fruit and they turned up plain. Asked for my Nutella and fruit and was told they don’t do fruit. I mentioned it says it on the menu and the waiter had to go and check then said it would be an extra £1. I said that’s fine, even though it would have been nice to tell me that when I ordered and she took my pancakes away. They came back a few minutes later, stone cold and the waiter then says it’s actually £2 extra!! Overall just really bad service and the food was cold.

Don’t go here! We went in for drinks and dessert - larger party in a small place but they were very rude. Initially accommodated us but when they learned we weren’t eating dinner, they let us know quickly we couldn’t stay long. Everyone ordered a dessert and/or a drink but the waitress said we couldn’t stay because they needed the tables. There was not a single point where a group couldn’t get a table. The staff watched us rudely until they couldn’t see us anymore. I didn’t even finish my drink or dessert. Don’t go! It was a downer in my day.

Good food. Steak pie hit the spot, salmon was good, and the mashed potatoes are dynamite! Good service as well.

It is a place that I can recommend to everyone. Especially the fish I ate was very good, we drank red wine with it. It definitely deserves 5 stars.

The food is ok and and acceptable price for a city. The smoke alarm was beeping every 1 minute (though not entirely within the waiting staff control as mounted on a high ceiling), which was a bit irritating. My main issue here was the staff, we were somewhat ushered in from the street but once sat down the waitress was on her phone the whole time through her ear buds and we felt rather ignored. It just doesn't fill with confidence of quality when you bet the impression that the staff are fed up of being there. As I said at the start, the food was ok, but a definite "trap the tourist operation" rather than a place with an interest in serving quality food.

The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, and I heartily suggest it.

Food was average, staff was rude didn't offer ketchup on ordering 2 pizza + 2 kids meal. Attitude of the waiter's was very sad. I don't understand why she was giving us such an angry look, including the kids.

Terrible service, we aren't allowed to finish our (even terrible) dishes. Good place to dine in if you're desperate but McDonalds is a better option.
