Costa Coffee in Edinburgh, City of

I ordered a panini and coffee. The panini was badly packaged and fell out of the bag, which wasn’t really big enough for it. On bending down to pick it up, I spilt half of my ‘milk on the side’. As the queue was very long I didn’t bother to go back and complain, just ate the sandwich, hoping it hadn’t acquired any nasty microbes from the floor. It was quieter by the time I left so I spoke to a member of staff – I think her name was Debbie. She handled things magnificently, like a seasoned diplomat – apologised charmingly, said she would pass on the details of my complaint to make sure this kind of thing didn’t happen again, and gave me a free coffee and a cinnamon bun – although I hadn’t asked for anything. Thank you, Debbie.

Absolutely appalling behaviour from a middle age women with a pony tail, needs to learn some customer service skills instead of snarling what do you want at customers then literally throwing the coffee at them. Worst customer service experience ever.

Awful service from a very disgruntled snappy older lady with a ponytail as others have mentioned, snarling and spitting over customers. Got our order and sat down then looked up to see her. Causing a commotion with another member of staff and swearing at her, absolutely shocking behaviour especially with children around. In the end up we left without finishing. Avoid and get a coffee after clearing baggage check

A simple cheese and tomato grilled ciabatta…but send out a search party for the filling!Where is the cheese and tomato?! Rip off.

Deplorable service from an older lady with light brown hair tied in a pony tail. Very rude no manners at all and very abrupt. Shocking behaviour from this so called lady. Reading reviews obviously others have been unfortunate to have had dealings with her also. Come on Costa get rid of staff like this. I feel sorry for the poor young staff having to work with her.

A was looking forward to a nice coffee after a long trip, the lady that was taking orders doesn’t seem to know the words ‘please’ or ‘thank you’ and no eye contact, took payment and then just walked off without a word. I sat in the Costa seating area to relax, at 19:25 a very grumpy Costa employee came around telling us all that the seating area closes at 20:00 (over half an hour away) and then started putting the chairs on the tables, so I guess it closes at 19:25 and not at 20:00. Disappointing as Costa staff are normally a happy bunch but not here.

Like any other costa coffee shop

I purchased a chocolate twist and regardless the advertised freshness, it was like chewing a rubber. Never again!

An accessible and quick option to solve a light meal. The staff resolves quickly, but they are clearly tired. Although they fulfill the task of the service, their gestures show disdain (look up this last term in the dictionary if you have doubts about its meaning).

Coffee could be less hot if you are in a hurry.

Had a wonderful experience at this Costa, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and just the service you want to receive after a flight! Special mention to Rian and Luke who served me with a smile!

Costa coffee and food, served to usual standard but cleanliness of seats - specifically fabric ones with crumbs etc... - left a lot to be desired. Tables and wooden chairs clean though.

It didn't get 5 stars for atmosphere because of the rude barista. They judged my drink order, couldn't understand two simple drink orders when speaking to her colleagues, rude to her colleagues, and didn't get the order right. The person at the till was very pleasant and seem very good at his job. They are only reason why it isn't a 1 star review.

Terrible customer service, rude staff. The person who took our order was very friendly and helpful but the person who made the drinks passed judgemental comments and messed up the order and gave us the wrong drinks.

Lugar ideal para tomarte un chocolate caliente grande, mediano o pequeño, o un café mientras esperas que pongan la puerta de embarque. El personal muy amable. Todo muy limpio excepto la tela de algunas sillas que están casi negras. El lugar el pequeño, concurrido, sobre todo si vas con maletas. Una pena que no tengan más espacio, suele estar lleno.

Very nice place, but with all the mal airport fuss, you have to keep an open eye to check if they served you what you asked to be served 😂😅

Extremely expensive and nothing special regarding drinks, while food is served in tiiiiny portions and is subpar. Toast has a single little ham piece with a little cheese for about 4€. What the f, really? Too bad you can't really go anywhere else so they take advantage of you as much as they can.

Croissants were very poor. Like 3 day old ones from a packet in a supermarket. Not fresh. Stale and doughy.

Ceny przyzwoite, ale Pan który wydawał kawę bardzo chłodny w obsłudze, kawy za dużo nalane przez co prawie się poparzyłem. Tak się nie robi, wychodzimy.

The staff at the Costo at Edinburgh airport are so lovely! Very welcoming and accommodating which is great in the early morning coming from an airplane. Only thing I didn't like is I saw that Costa is partnering with Sea Life for offers, and I don't like how places like Sea Life treat their animals. But the service was lovely and a great welcome to Scotland. Thank you!

El servicio también fue rápido y satisfizo completamente nuestras necesidades: aperitivos sencillos y sabrosos y un buen café. Por encima de la media de su tipo para bocadillos sobre la marcha.

Typical Costa. Bit more expensive as it is in the airport. Very busy.

Staff are more busy talking to each other than taking care of customers... Also the fruit for sale is almost rotten and should've been removed ages ago. Cappuccino was boiled and was thrown ut... just utter rubbish establishment...

Customer service apaulling. 1 girl serving and making coffee and no one else 2 be seen I order 4 drinks and take 10 minites for 2 be made!!! Sandwish ok. Will not return children cried.

Good coffee, snacks and a range of food available form this branch. Level entry and spacious inside for wheelchair access. Friendly staff.

Usual Costa menu available. 3 people serving but service was slow, luckily we weren’t in a hurry. They were cleaning up when people were waiting to be served. Friendly enough, just slow.

Burned coffee and ultra buttery (heavy) croissants. Yuck!

Went in for some quick food and a coffee en route to London. Short queue and food shelves were well stocked. I must admit I was surprised at this as it was after 6pm. Had a ham and cheese toastie and a latte. Good standard fuel just like you expect it to be from any Costa. Service was quick and efficient and the coffee was hot but cool enough to drink quickly. I always think this is important when you’ve got a plane to catch - so many airport venues give you drinks at 90 degrees. Well done Costa. Wish there were more Costas worldwide.

I know lots of people were probably waiting for check-in to open. We were. Tables weren’t clean. Rear seating area smelled unclean - sweat or urine? Drinks were up to scratch, but the points scanner for my phone wasn’t working.

Forgot to rate this place but when I was checking the airport I found it. Coffee was ok and the brownie was too.

Lovely little spot to wait for family's arrival. The Americana is a good stuff cuppa and the porridge is creamy smooth with some honey. No Maple, brown sugar and cinnamon needed! Great start to a great visit.

After 4 weeks of travelling through Europe and not finding consistently good coffees, we were surprised by Costa. They managed to make our coffees perfectly (we sound coffee-snobby but we did drag 2 kids around so coffee seemed to be our coping mechanism). Very appreciative, but would suggest that in some instances, the service could be slightly better.

A great place to enjoy a good coffee and a small bite before boarding the plane. Great atmosphere and a good and friendly staff.

Absolutely fine, staff are lovely and it's a great drink. However, they do not use mugs and plates and therefore everything is disposable. It would be great to see this changed and I'll immediate bump this up to a 5star review.

El Aeropuerto de Edimburgo es bastante espantoso en muchos aspectos, ya que los exorbitantes aparcamientos, los horribles sistemas de seguridad y las 2 puertas de llegadas internacionales están en los extremos opuestos del aeropuerto, por lo que Costa se adapta bien. Hay una gran variedad de lugares para comer y beber, pero si está recolectando o recolectando la cercanía a la puerta es probablemente importante, por lo que es Starbucks en un extremo y Costa en el otro. Espere clientes malhumorados, un servicio apático y sin ofertas.

空港内のCafe Neroに比べてまともなコーヒーでした。きのこと言い卵を挟んだＥｎｇｌｉｓｈマフィンのホットサンドイッチが美味しかったです。

Not the most welcoming place at Edinburgh airport...

Great place to kill some time before your flight. They offer a vegan hot chocolate with soy, coconut or almond milk and a great vegan cookie with filling. Comfy lounge chairs with USB and AC power outlets near by.

Typically overpriced poor quality and dirty surroundings I really was not impressed at all with the lack of service. Tables unsteady all in all I wont be back.

If you go to Edinburgh airport I would recommend you to NOT come here. The sandwiches were not good. The brownies were not good at all.

Break fast is good to try. We tried the porridge and toast. We liked it.

My friend waited atleast 2 hours until he got his hot chocolate and woman were screaming bacon! At us aggressively over and over again, I was also approached by a worker carrying a bin screaming we hate Starbucks! Not good x

Costa coffee is always up to a good standard. Considering the airport is always busy, have always received my drink in a timely manner and it is correct. Always delicious.

It was a Saturday afternoon, the airport was quiet and given that we'd checked in with a couple of hours to spare, we thought we'd have a coffee before our flight. There were three members of staff on duty; a couple of whom clearly were thinking about their Saturday night out or recovering from their Friday night. Whichever it was, it was clear that the customers were an inconvenience. The man behind me in the queue was clearly appalled by the slow service.

We called in here for a coffee and snack while waiting for the rest of the family to join us!n It was very busy but we managed to get a table and enjoyed our coffee etc while we waited!

While waiting to be allowed to check in we stopped at Costa Coffee for coffee and cake and all we could say was that it was handy, but barely satisfactory.

Rude staff, I just ask him for not too much milk in my coffee, and the staff was so rude telling me that he has to waste the milk for my fault. Never again in Costa.

I stopped in here recently with a friend, as we waited for our flight to Madrid. Firstly, I have to tell you that I am the wrong person to review a coffee house, I hate the stuff. However, I did visit with my coffee loving friend, and I had a very average cup of tea, but he seemed to like his coffee. The staff were attentive enough, and the tables were clean and tidy, so I guess for that reason alone, if you like coffee, then you will like this place. Forgive the pun, it's not my cup of tea.

I was early through security, so thought i might try an airport coffee.

The tall guy with glasses should be fired! He insulted me and my fiancée and poured on me hot coffee. He is a rasist.

Queue massive and disorganised. 2 members off staff on tills, 2 making coffees. 2 filling cabinets. Not one of them communicated effectively with each other. Barking orders does not count at communication. Me and my friend ordered x2 medium skinny lattes. We got one small and one large. When we asked staff what was going on they said you got a large one for the price of a medium!! I ended up taking small. Milk had been heard far too hot. It was not skimmed milk and the coffee was weak and tasteless. Over £7 wasted on nothing

Courteous staff and a delicious cortado. Unexpectedly good for an airport.

Au terminal d'arrivée, tout près du check in air France. Café bien organisé, assez calme, service rapide et généralement les clients qui atterrissent ne restent pas longtemps. Places confortables disponibles.

This was a standard Costa experience, with prices I would've expected in an airport, plus the long queues. The cold drinks langar wasn't very well stocked but the staff were chirpy and chatty. The coffee I was served was more like hot milk than anything I would recognise as a latte though.

Didn’t actually go but drove 15 mins towards it before realising .... it’s inside the airport!

Soy un buen cliente. Compré 4 bebidas para nuestra familia. Pedí un café con leche helado de tamaño para mí. Me dio un pequeño. Me di cuenta porque mi hijo también pidió un cerveza helada, su tamaño era una taza más grande. Así que me quejé de inmediato. Ninguna disculpa. Sólo "harán de nuevo". Dijo que en una manera que estoy molesto le pregunta por el que pedimos no aceptar algo más pequeñas. Finalmente conseguí mi café 15 minutos después de mi mujer y mi hija, aunque yo puse una orden para 4 bebidas.

Otra cafetería más de la franquicia, el café bastante decente, el chocolate bastante bueno también, precios dentro de lo normal y servicio correcto. Recomendable si tienes que hacer tiempo hasta tu vuelo.

Closed for cleaning when I arrived but soon was able to get a nice cuppa while I waited.
