Confirming other reviews that food especially the soup was salty and the noodles were not ramen but cheap thin wavy instant noodles. Kung po was on the other hand too plain/diluted and the big pieces of chicken smelled.

Got the food here for years it's class, nice service and the food is amazing especially the curry chips and the shredded beef in chilli and honey sauce and the spare ribs

Had beef curry and fried rice, Singapore rice noodles and kids chicken balls with fried rice. Never goes wrong at McChans. Been a customer since they had their van at Fort. My goto for Chinese good.

I got szechuan chicken and rice. Can confirm it is very salty. Maybe 200% more than expected. Couldn't finish, might be fine with less salt I suppose.

Delicious filling meal of our choice ,very satisfying . A must stop for delicious food served in a clean and friendly takeaway .

I generally like this place, but there are a few issues that need improvement. The girl at the front sometimes has trouble understanding our orders, which can be frustrating. Additionally, the food is sometimes too salty, although it's good most of the time. I also wish the prices were a bit lower. Despite these drawbacks, it's not a bad spot overall.

Always yummy food, good prices and fast service

These guys done better with their van at fort Kinnaird, the food and speed was just that bit better but all the same, the food is still A class

I've been going here for while now always get chicken curry with rice and onions its always so nice but few hours ago went got home onions are hard rice looks like cooked few days ago not much chicken so shocked this 1st time I've beem disappointed

Always great service with fantastic food. Been my fav place for years (from the time they were in Kinnaird park and then in Gyle and back at Kinnaird park) and find them again! Lovely people and lovely food! Keep it going guys!

chips were stale, curry sauce had been lying there all day, chicken was undercooked, staff were very rude and demanding had no listening skills at all, i asked for no veg in my rice and they put veg in both cartons, whole shop didn’t look clean at all, certainly wont be back.

Do they just pour salt onto the food? I'd given the benefit of the doubt but sadly 😥 it's so salty 🧂 There are others that are better.

Always visited their portable unit in Fort Kinnaird, food is always tasty, and excellent value for money. My favourite dish is their Singapore Fried Rice 😋

Packed the wrong thing in the order... The sesame prawn toast missing and had put prawn crackers instead which was only apparent after getting it home to unpack it. I did phone to point out the order was wrong to be told I have phoned the wrong place!!! When i said I haven't and i don't think I will come back the reply was "Ok then goodbye" and she hung up on me..... Up til now I have never had a reason to fault the staff or the food even though ocationally theres been a few small issues... But to not get what you paid for and then be dismissed in that manner.... goodbye to you McChans

A good quick lunch service. Combo meal if you’re on the go. Better quality chicken would be nice, tasty black bean sauce, curry sauce was good too.

Best Chinese on the street hands down

Ordered last sunday some king prown chowmen, i think they gave us old one or don't know next day we all had a food poisoning. Very dissatisfied

Just been in, got salt 'n' spicy chips and a curry sauce, dreadful, chips are only half cooked, and the bottom of the polystyrene tray is swimming in oil, YUK, never again.

Delicious food and excellent prices

Sadly I think the quality of food has changed dramatically since moving to a shop. They were much better when they were situated at fort Kinnaird retail park. My dad order salt & pepper chips with curry sauce, instead got regular chips and curry. Sister ordered chips and cheese, instead got chips, cheese and curry sauce. So we are very sadly disappointed and won’t be back any time soon as the quality of food is just terrible

I ordered a chicken satay with noodles tonight. I had to put it in the bin. It was so so salty, the chicken was pure quality and slimy. It didn't even look like real chicken. And the sauce wasn't nice. Such a waste of money.

£3.20 for chips and cheese and some of the chips weren't even cooked all the way through, maybe you can get away with that in a craven in a festival but not in a shop. Vegi options also terrible and the same price as meat equivilant. Instead of beef black bean you're getting broccoli at the same price. Very disappointed.

Got charged full price for half a meal. My chicken curry and fried rice was put into the same container. Would expect that at the take away van but not from the restaurant. Very disappointing. 😡

Everytime we travel up to Edinburgh, we always pop over to the fort just to grab a Chans takeaway! Great food everytime, excellent value for money. Best place to go for a curry. If your in the area and hungry, go to Chan's. There's a big menu to pick from. Got something for everyone!

Salt and pepper chips and overly salty Chicken chow mein- chicken was cheap cutting, it was so dry and rock solid when trying to eat it.

It has totally went right down hill, We ordered shredded chicken and honey and a beef curry but got shredded beef in honey we i went back up the tryed to say thats what i ordered then after getting told i was lying they checked the order and i got a oh sorry as they turned away, then we open the beef curry and it was like brown water toke this back and showed them it they eventually swapped it but charged the extra £1 for a new dish. They where to bizy eating their own lunch out of the cooking pots and having a laugh to care anoit their customers. Definitely not going back.
