Clean mcdonalds we sat on the first floor which wasn't to busy you can see st.johns church from here but back to the restraunt it didn't take long to get served at all

Nuggets from £20 to £4, 5 stars well deserved

Be careful your French points do not work in Scotland

Visited this establishment one evening and I must say that it's one of the worst kept restaurants I've been in - couldn't actually wait to leave. Avoid at all costs.

Great, fresh food. Always love McDonald's but this was even better as all our food was fresh. Must say, if you're in Edinburgh and looking for somewhere to eat, it's worth it to pop in as prices are so low! One of the best McDonald's I've been to.

I was going to get a bite to eat and I needed to use the toilet to my dismay of find sanctuary towels in the ladies toilets in all the cubicles cover with sanctuary towels looks like a murder spree all over the floor I spoke to a security worker who and told about it he then decided to me unpleasant towards me saying I am f ING doing nothing about it extremely professional I then spoke to a female who didn't have a clue what sanctuary towels were I tried to put it politely as possible, and I repeated my self several times so I switch the frustration to fanny pads of which is something a female who uses once a month she was like I will pass this over to my manager and the end of my shift hell no you do it now then her manager appeared so I approached him blonde head boy who just shugged his shoulders and did not seem to what to get a cleaner straight away I had to use my foot to bash these of the toilet seat is what I had to do inorder to use the toilet, so I am taking this to Environmental Health as this seems a clear issue with cleaness I mean there is HIV anyone can contract using a toilet I have serious health issues as it is but HIV is hopefully not one of them people avoid i do not recommend this place at all

Pretty standard McDonalds. The bathroom seems to be having an issue in which the door kind of traps people in, so about 5 people 1 have the other got trapped and subsequently released from the bathroom.

Awful service and over 15 mins to get a fast food order. Management very ignorant and rude. Security staff hopeless. Maybe if they served the customers in the restaurant first, rather than the home delivery drivers hanging around.

Food as you know from McDonalds. The ordering kiosk did not want to accept the payment after several times, so we went to the cash register. Paid as expected, food did not arrive. I am told that I had done it wrong..... maybe true, maybe not, but the response was certainly not friendly from the staff. I don't have to go anymore, there's plenty of food in Edinburgh.

My friend and I were out for a nice quick bite to eat before we went to the zoo and unfortunately, it was far from that. Our food took quite a while to come when it wasn’t even busy. When it did finally come it wasn’t the right food and my friend and looked at our food in shocked and were disgusted at what was in front of us, and when we did finally alert somebody about the issues with many food items, they didn’t seem to be bothered or apologetic and seemed like we were an annoyance to them. May i add we also noticed other customers getting frustrated as their orders had also been implemented and they were clearly not pleased as it is not what they ordered. I truly believe this is unacceptable as it was more than one food item that was different to what i ordered. I will simply never be returning here again as this has made us frustrated and extremely disappointed.

They took far to long to bring our food to us,it wasn't even that busy when we went in so I don't get how it took so long to bring out our food,I've worked for McDonalds so know the food is served pretty quickly but we waited ages for our food,maybe don't concentrate on your just eat and deliveroo orders and focus on instore orders.

It's a McDonald's. It does what it's supposed to do. You can order at the counter or at the order screens.

I’ve experienced one of the worst hot chocolate ever. It’s just the hot water and there is no chocolate in it. Even the staff won’t listen that what we are trying to tell.

Hot chocolate is really bad with not hot chocolate but full with hot water . What is this?

Disgustingly filthy; seemed to be understaffed. Food was OK but a bit cold by the time it was delivered to the table. Seriously poor cleanliness standards; our table was "cleaned" and was still dirty. Also screaming unattended kids everywhere and barely space to move.

Was great apart from staff don't always see the tables numbers even though I placed so it was easy to see

Ordered and paid for 9 nuggets, only discovered when got home that had been given a box of 6. Then discovered that double cheeseburger that was ordered was supplied as a single cheeseburger. Very disappointed.

Just had breakfast here. The App was very useful here to order and it came directly to my table although I put the wrong mark on my table but the waiter was courteous enough to come straight to me when I called her. There’s ample sitting upstairs (with a couch) to relax as long as you want. Stop here soon

Despite the promising menu, my dining experience fell short of expectations. The food quality was acceptable, but it was consistently served lukewarm, which diminished the overall enjoyment. Additionally, the customer service was subpar, the washrooms were unclean, and there were repeated order mistakes. These issues need to be promptly addressed by management to ensure a more pleasant dining experience for future patrons.

Fairly fast service, after the taste it's still McDonald's, but I had a problem with printing the ticket, and the shift manager kindly printed it for me, on the other hand quite a shame, I had two drinks and I didn't have anything to prop them up in the bag... I had to hold one in my hand and the other balanced in the bag

Order machine broken. I tried to get my money back through McDonalds Germany, but it doesn't seem to work! Contact is not possible from Germany to Edinburgh! So always pay attention!

It’s “ok”. Got two cheese burgers and both were a bit dry and felt like they had been kept warm for a while

The saltiest potato I have ever eaten, the driest and the only mcchicken I have ever left unfinished. I still haven't lost the salt in the potatoes.

Mac do very clean and good atmosphere not like in France just during the preparation they forgot my cut fruit

Im actually shocked at the audacity of this mcdonalds. Called up because part of my order was missing from my app delivery, explaining that this has left a 3 year old autistic child who will only eat chicken nuggets (from mcdonalds) without food. The guy on the phone stated that the order wasnt placed at that mcdonalds even though the app told us differently. He then told us that there was other mcdonalds on the same street and gave us a fake number to call!! Google shows only one mcdonalds on princes street and the app also says that!! Its an actual joke!!!

Always delicious for being fast food.

The hot chocolate was okay, considerably acceptable temperature, the consistency could be improved, the drink was perhaps rather granulated, and additionally the richness wasn't incredible, a little too watery and not quite high enough chocolate concentration. By McDonald's standards though, a decent hot chocolate. 3/10

Fairly standard for a McDonald's. Bit of a risk to try to sit in if you can't do stairs, very few downstairs tables. Whilst there is an accessible toilet, it is code locked, so you have to ask staff to open it.

Taxis cannot be picked from here, need to meet at a pick up point close by

We were on holiday and decided to pop in for lunch food came quick and was hot the man who was cleaning had no customer skills whatsoever which was a shame as everything else was perfect

Always freezing cold and order always has something missing

Though we know what to expect at Macdonald's and don't get too excited about visiting, we were disappointed that, when our food arrived it was almost cold. This was particularly frustrating as we had table service and we didn't have to wait long for our order. Usually average food at best was a struggle to get down. The tables were also dirty, but we come to expect that. I don't know how staff manage to cover all the tasks when customers are ordering table service for one item at a time and then following their order with another single item. It's a miracle they are so polite!

The quality of McDonald's is good and even the service. My only concern is that the place doesn't look squeky clean as other QSRs. Maybe McDonald's is more popular. However, they should ensure strict cleanliness in terms of removing spilled over items on the floor, empty bins, etc.

Place is an absolute shambles. 15 staff behind s the tills and still 20 minute wait for my meal they messed up in the 1st place.

Very busy time for staff. We asked for table service but weren't given milk or stirrer for our teas, so had to fetch these ourselves. There was a bit of trouble with a very drunk customer, which didn't help the atmosphere. But this was not Mac's fault & staff dealt with it well.

Standard McDonald's but friendly staff which makes a difference.

Food is ok if although put together a bit haphazard all jumbled up. The one thing they really need to sort out the lighting upstairs, a couple of failed LED lights turning the place into a rave with the strobing lights. Also no disabled access to upstairs or sauce dispensers which is a shame.

Food is generally decent but service is not so great. Half the time there is no table service or they forget to bring napkins or salad cutlery with the food. Also, give the person that decided to remove the napkin / sauce self service from the top floor a promotion. Customers get to eat fast food and spend the calories right away by jogging up and down the stairs. Truly a genius move 👍

Was in recently used my points to get a free big Mac and seeing I was number 14 went to get it when they called and some random man pushed in front of me and he said he was number 14 and took my big Mac had to wait another few minutes to get it reorderdwhen I told the staff they didn't believe me and then checked the computer then had to wait longer!!!

McDonald's is great for taking the grandchildren. They can get all the things that they like to eat in one place .I also like their crispy chicken burgers which are good value for money.

Was there with my grandkids order machine not work taken longer to wait to be served but order's for just eat got more attention than customers in store one of my grandkids is arotistic had to wait hour just for juice

Standard McDonald's food. Nothing special but decent. I went late hours, probably about to close, so the tables were pretty messed with rubbish.

Place is nice and food is OK but I can't understand how it's possible that Thursday at 9,30 am there was no coffee neither hot chocolate. The only hot drink available was tea. Unbelievable

Zu Anfangs is halt ungesund aber das kennt man ja von der Fast Food Branche. Bestellt habe ich lediglich 2 Burger welche wie bei jedem McDonalds schmecken. Logischerweise mit Touristen überlaufen aber trotz alledem war mein Essen für diese Verhältnisse schnell fertig. Es wurde geordert wie am Fließband und die Küche und Kasse waren bestimmt mit 15 Mitarbeitern besetzt. In anderen Filialen musste ich trotz der geringen Bestellmenge deutlich länger warten, also Hut ab und Respekt an die Mitarbeiter.

Well located Mcdonald's in the beginning of princess street with to floors: Ground floor overcrowded specially at lunch time. On the first floor is the eating eating room which the atmosphere is pleasant and calm.

Staff are good but too many unruly trolls emerging to grunt their mantras to prove the world revolves around them. Scared my young neice we took in after ice skating. Security at 8pm says it all.

Don't know how they get away with selling that muck

No tea/coffee in cold weather. It was late afternoon and only hot chocolate and cold drink available.

It's McDonald's. Everyone knows what they are getting. The staff are always friendly as the busily serve people. In a city centre McDonald's its always busy. But the staff are great and everything runs smoothly.

Absolutely diabolical, the machines never gave a recipt or order number, had to fight through mass crowds just to find out what number the orrder was. Then after an hour still no food. The whole process is a shambles I have never seen anything like it!!! Utter chaos and I complained, the staff just said sorry and walked off. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!

Not a fan of fast good but was there for 99p deal only during nov 2023. Great service though as i accidentally drop my nuggets and the staff was so nice to replaced it for me for free.

Food was cold and issues with coffee not good. Changed coffee and still horrible.

Avoid any time late at night. If the receipts on the automated checkouts ever work I haven't seen it, so you'll have a choice between joining the queue and hoping a meal appears or leaving and writing it off. Must have wasted £40 here the last few weeks.

I made an order, waited 25 minutes only for it to vanish off the collection screen, I had to leave because my bus was nearby and ended up not receiving anything and no information on how to get a refund from the members of staff

The food was not great, nothing else to fault but it all tastes quite bad and we felt a bit rough after!

Literally the worst McDonalds i’ve ever been to. Everything is super dirty, the kiosk don’t print receipts and don’t show your order number and when I asked the worker they had attitude. Also workers touching food without any gloves then touching their shoes? Disgusting.

Whenever employees at the counter are happily chatting with their friends while working they alway manage to miss one or two items. Don’t even bother double check, but if you do check the bag at the counter they side eye like “dude, I can do my job”… well, clearly not. I don’t understand why it happened so often there. Is not that hard. Also why is allowed for them to waste time chatting with their friends while working? Is a fast food establishment is not rocket science. You put what’s in the order in the bag, double check and there you go… 3 items in the order, 3 items in the bag, if you did put 2 there’s something missing, it’s no brainer. Obviously having a chat with their pals (not coworkers) while working is not helping them with simple math. It happens at least 3 times this month even in quiet days. Wake up please.

Printer was broken on the self service checkout as usual and the cheese bites were burned and tasted like pure fryer oil, chips soggy as usual. Don’t expect much from McDonald’s these days.

Self Service till claimed takeway orders only, receipt printer broken. Fries were not seasoned, burger was not seasoned, no napkins available. This restaurant has gone downhill and is a terrible example of the McDonald's experience

It's a fast food place so you get what you expect. It's okay.

The service was very bad. I always come here to buy my breakfast, cos I work in the city centre. I ordered at the self-service machine at 9:39 this morning and decided to pay cash at the counter. I waited at the counter for a long time but no one came. They just ignore me, I say hello out loud, I want to pay, and no one comes. The KFC next door is much better than this MacDonald service.

Food is as always good. But look at the state of the toilets. Clearly had not been checked in a while, and a broken toilet seat.🤷🏼‍♂️

The atmosphere was ok, service slow and food fairly average... a bit of a shame really as I was looking forward to an epic McDonald's meal. The food took a very long time to be brought out. Once the food did arrive I didn't enjoy it as much as my previous orders, this was partially as I was in a bit of a huff, however also the food tasted very dry and it wasn't quite warm enough. This being said the atmosphere was rather groovy, there was some really nice music being played and this lifted my mood so by the end of the meal I was feeling better. However this is not my first experience at this McDonald's and I dont remember not having a perfectly fine meal previously.

I do not have high expectations of a McDonald's but this one was not clean at all. Food on the floors and chairs... Sticky tables... Although the people working here were friendly, clearly they don't enjoy the cleaning part of their job😅 I should mention the food okay, we had crunchy fries🥳

Usual McD food quality, the service was slow, poor maintenance of facilities.

During my visit to McDonald's, I noticed that despite the three floors available, the restaurant was quite busy. However, the service was notably slow. It took a total of 45 minutes to receive four drinks, two burgers, and fries. Considering the wait time, I would recommend exploring other dining options if you have the flexibility in your schedule.

You know what you are going to get, and it worth just sitting there people watching.

We popped in for a quick lunch, the service was fine and the food was good. The issue was there was not 1 clean table in the whole restaurant, the bins were overflowing and the toilets were awful too.
