The secret of this fantastic restaurant is definitely the family who runs it.We have spent time over the last 15 years going to the Rocks in Dunbar when Jim was running the show along with James and Jack and now over the last few years James is in charge along with Mark. The new menu which was just in place was great. We had mussels and chicken to start with followed by the pork and duck leg main course.That would have been enough but just had to try a dessert which was selection of ice cream and sorbet and a crème brûlée and coffee.A nice well kept beer went well too.If we didn’t live 200 miles away we would be there most weeks so the round trip will have to be once a month,it’s that good. We had a very relaxed meal, it wasnt busy sitting in, only us on a Tuesday night. Food was good and quick service. Toilets were a bit of a trek for my brother who has a disability.

Gutted usually a great scran but stane cold chips and cold onion ring just wrong the wrap was bang on but being an hour and a half late just nut come on you can do better than this

Bought lemon chicken and boiled rice but had to throw it away when I got home. The rice was hard and tasted ‘old’ like it was cooked yesterday. Half the chicken was ok but the rest had a strange taste and I didn’t want to risk food poisoning. There was also very little sauce. What a shame as I have visited this takeaway quite a few times over the years but I’m wondering if it’s changed hands? I phoned to let them know about the food and got no joy. Sadly I’ll not be driving the 20 mins to return and waste money on unpalatable food.

Rude and don’t give chips with a meal and doesn’t even advertise. No chips food is not worth price and the fact you don’t even get chips too makes it pointless strongly suggest a different takeaway

The brie and cranberry toastie was delicious.

I had a tuna baguette, was it tuna? Don't know but I know how does it after alf hr I eat it, I vomited as crazy, shame

Couldn't fault our dinner with friends at Ducks. Friendly service, lovely atmosphere and incredible food. In particular I have to shout out the desert which featured a sea buckthorn sorbet - genius! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Unfortunately the favoured chicken sizzler has lost our favourite meal spot. I don’t know what they have done but hardly any flavour. Three of us said the same thing. One of our party had loads of mushrooms hardly any peppers or onions. Another one had loads of peppers a few mushrooms and a small amount of onions. I had too many onions two pieces of mushrooms and a few bits of pepper. Service was slow and I couldn’t understand what the young waiter was saying. Don’t think we will be returning any time soon.

Had booked a table for 2 adults and 2 kids for Sunday lunch (carvery). Arrived and stood waiting for about 10mins before we were seated. Had a sinking feeling at this point as the place is v dated and there seemed to be little staff on. Initially only 1 behind the carvery and another who was on the bar and serving. We were taken to our table and left. Sat for 10 mins waiting for our order to be taken. Another table arrived with a new waiter and I overheard them being told to order at the bar. I caught waiter and checked this. Queued at bar where we had another wait and then finally got to carvery. A family ahead of us had given up by this point and plates half full asked for their money back. We persevered. Food was ok. Plates were cold and portions of meat were tiny. Extremely disappointed in our experience and would not go back. Do not recommend.
