Food was average ok but not amazing. Service was terrible, 7 people in our group and were were Told we couldn’t even move any chairs to sit together. Despite saying they have gluten free bread available one of our part was told there was no gluten free food on the menu. As a compromise we asked for the content of a roll, bacon, egg, sausage but were told you can’t have that as it’s not on the menu. Came across as very rude.

I went in for a sausage and egg roll today. I was charged the same price for takeaway as sit in which I had never experienced before anywhere. I like to go into local businesses when visiting somewhere for local produce, but the lorne sausage came out of the freezer from a plastic bag, looked like Aldi's. The egg was swimming in oil. Had to throw away the roll it was so bad. On the other hand, the millionaire shortbread was lovely.

The large lady has an absolutely atrocious manner. She simply should never work in any customer service role. She had a terrible scowl and miserable demeanor from the moment I entered. I then committed the horrendous sin of asking her an incredibly simple question while she frothed milk. ("You close at 3, right?") She literally growled at me "GIVE ME A MINUTE". You are making a coffee, not performing brain surgery. And regardless, there is 0 need for rudeness.

Great wee cafe! Great gluten free options! My pal has celiac disease and struggles to eat out - cross contamination can cause her to get very ill. They were so helpful and their kitchen has separate preparation areas for gluten free so cross contamination is really thought about. My pal was over the moon and said that's the first time in years she's felt it safe to eat in a cafe. Oh, and I had some cracking veggie haggis. Will go back just for that!

First of all, great food, and affordable prices as well, I personally love to order the toasty and soup combo, even better deal to fit my big appetite. But a normal toasty is enough for normal people cuz it’s served with salad and chips, or crisps in British English. I just love the texture of how the crispy of toasty is dipped in soup, also, the soup changes everyday, not yet had one that I didn’t like, or maybe it’s just I’m a soup person.💅 Second, people here are so nice, I come over every Sunday, and Stella (the lovely lady you’ll see by the counter when you walk in) always give great chat, also Andy (the guy by the kitchen who makes a great, a perfect cheese pull) makes wonderful food filling my big stomach👌 And the people who come here either for food or to chat, nioce people to chat with, cuz most of the time they’re gonna be granny walking their dogs😊 Also, the cafe is dog friendly and have dog ice creams (I didn’t know they existed until I came here) and occasionally Stella feed the dogs dog treats by her counter 🙌🏻 Oooooooo, also the view, the view by the window is facing the coastline, which is always somewhere to look when I’m exhausted with my work, very relaxing, in general, lovely view of the docks and coast, too bad I always take up the window seat😎 In summary, great food with great price, good people, dog friendly, and great view👍🏻

Had read good coffee reviews but was unfortunately disappointed. If you sell flat whites, you should know how to make them. Milk - far too hot and frothed like a cappuccino. Should be microfoam with bubbles barely visible. Coffee - should be a double shot, roughly half milk and half coffee to ensure a strong coffee taste. Size- should be larger than an espresso but smaller than a latte or cappuccino.

Had booked a table for 2 adults and 2 kids for Sunday lunch (carvery). Arrived and stood waiting for about 10mins before we were seated. Had a sinking feeling at this point as the place is v dated and there seemed to be little staff on. Initially only 1 behind the carvery and another who was on the bar and serving. We were taken to our table and left. Sat for 10 mins waiting for our order to be taken. Another table arrived with a new waiter and I overheard them being told to order at the bar. I caught waiter and checked this. Queued at bar where we had another wait and then finally got to carvery. A family ahead of us had given up by this point and plates half full asked for their money back. We persevered. Food was ok. Plates were cold and portions of meat were tiny. Extremely disappointed in our experience and would not go back. Do not recommend.
