Gutted usually a great scran but stane cold chips and cold onion ring just wrong the wrap was bang on but being an hour and a half late just nut come on you can do better than this

Fish absolutely horrible, soggy batter not crispy at all.

I have visited joes for as long as I can remember and still regard it as the best in Tranent .

The food is great but never use the pay with debit card text thing that is sent out. My details appear to have been stolen and used within hours to try to order mobile phones. Not secure.

Large doner kebab is a joke. For "bargain" price £8.70 you get really small pita bread and lamb with sauce. No salads. I recommend visit at least Turkey and learn how kebab looks. You will not see me any more there.

Think a few places ok but been diverted to joes by Dav and his donner pizza are spot on his donner meat is 5***** top class....

Waited over 1 hour 40 minutes for delivery after being told maximum 40 minutes delivery .refused delivery when it arrived😒eventually. Shame as I always use them as their food is good.

Waited an hour an 20 minutes for delivery. Chips half cooked and freezing cold. Burgers absolutely discusting, might be grilled but tasted as tho it came from a tin. Came swimming in meted cheese, sauce and juice. Thankfully the special fish wasn’t all that bad but a complete waste of £20

Waited over 2 hours for my food. Phoned multiple times for help and got told it was just leaving each time. Food was dry and only the box had heat (clearly just kept under a heat light for ages). Only ordered chips and a half fried pizza on a Wednesday night so don’t understand why waiting over 2 hours is acceptable but no one on the phone seemed to care. Won’t be back and don’t recommend.

Vulgar food and they marked me down on Uber eats because they’re incompetent driver couldn’t find the address. Pathetic excuse of a company

Food was over an hour and a half late. Chips were swimming in grease and tasted like they were about a week old. Burger was disgusting, too greasy to eat. Far too overpriced for the quality of food 🤢

The staff in there are incredibly rude and miserable. Ordered very simple small orders and Both of them were wrong and freezing cold. Would avoid at all costs if possible. Food very very average.

Ordered through there website, delivery states at 40 mins. Nearly 2 hours later it was delivered and part of the order was wrong and what was correct was barely warm

Avoid this place like the plague! My wife ordered tonight at 17:30, 19:40 the delivery shows up... Pizza stone cold, £8.50 for a chicken kebab which consisted of a Soggy pita and dry chicken, no salad, no sauce (including the extra sauce we actually orderd), and chips which were rancid! The whole lot got binned and we've contacted Uber Eats for a refund!

If you want last weeks old fish and chips that should have been binned then this is your destination, I went here on a Sunday night… they are obviously too lazy to cook fresh so they serve the old stuff from the previous nights. I should have just posted my £20 down the drain because that’s what I had to do with the food I stood and waited on. Cheers for nothing Joe 👍🏽

Went to Joe's tonight and got a large fish super ." Not the best I have had Some Chips were Raw and Soggy Batter on the Fish which was Dry. Joe's is usaly good.

I have went here for meals for year's, as I think it is the best one around, it has great fish and chips, or you can buy, pies, chicken, pizza and a whole range of meals, I think it is very clean also, which means a lot to me, and the food is always fresh.

Bought 1 fish supper, fish was not very meaty,batter tasted cakey and the chips were limp and thin. 1 king rib and 1 king rib supper, both looking beige in colour and again cakey batter and limp chips. We will not be returning. It's Bene's all the way for us from now on.

My HelloFresh delivery was going to be late tonight so thought I would go to Joes. My partner said he fancied a pizza however I was shocked to find the cost was £15.40 for a 12 inch pizza with meat & jalapeños. When I got home my partner couldn’t believe it and checked the website to find you are charged for each different type of meat @ £1.60 and £2.00 for spiced chicken. Definitely won’t be buying a pizza again. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Order was over 1hour late,It came with no salad,or extra sauce that was ordered,phoned up to ask where it was ,it was sent out but when it arrived ,our order was cold,no apology whatsoever, they said on phone idelivery driver forgot to give it to me but driver blamed shop ! And to say the least food was not good!

Just went in to joes and got a haggis supper and a sausage supper and nearly broke my teeth both the sausage and haggis supper were brick solid and we're dry as f##k avoid this place at all costs ended up in the bin complete waste of money chips were dry and over cooked as well

Ordered online when order arrived delivery driver informed me it would be 80p more expensive than website stated never had phone call to inform online price was wrong, after that found the order was wrong had vinegar instead of sauce the pizza was covered in salt which would have made it inedible had it not been stone cold anyway and the chips were overly greasy this is the worst order I've ever had from here and I won't be ordering again , which is a shame as I've been a loyal customer for years but every order recently has been worse than the last and tonight's experience was the last chance I'll give them

2hr 10min wait for delivery. Chips were poor tonight too. Won't be rushing back.

Poor service called for delivery to be put on hold for 10 mins, no one came back so had a call back order wasnt even delivered after phoning up to check.

Absolutely shocking for delivers tonight , took over 3 hours to come up and food was absolutely disgusting too, I would recommend going else where for something , I wouldn't give 1 star it's a 0 , that's twice took forever.

Got a munchie box last nite absolutely great. Thought i would get one tonight for boys 1hr 20muns later by delivery very look warm. Disappointed is an a Understatement quicker going your self. Only stay 4mins away. Pizza very well done kebab dry salad in a bag wet and disgusting thought phoned wrong place.

As chippy's go it's ok, got a cheese burger in batter roll, buttered with a wee bit chippy sauce - can't complain, was enjoyable - price was average for a chippy.

My go to chippie in Tranent. Really good and consistent with it too. Fab.

Chips and curry horrible the food not very hot. Ended up in the bin. Wouldn't even give it to a dog.

We had horrendous service from Joe’s. Not a good thing to say about the place after our experience tonight. We phoned after an hour to find out where our order was and told the driver had just left so we should have our food in 10 minutes. Half an hour later we had to phone back. 10 minutes after that the food arrived cold and badly cooked. The chips were all pale in colour and soggy. We’ll never order from here again.

Cleanest chipshop by far in East Lothian , beautiful food , still hot on delivery excellent value & choice .

Went in tonight back just after 11pm to be served by a female who looked at me like I was a bit of dirt. I said to her what I wanted and she asked me if I wanted anything on it and I told her. I asked her for another wee tub of brown sauce to which I was then told £5.20 I gave her the money and said thanks. Not once did I get a please or a thank you of her, perhaps a customer care course would help. I am not one for being annoyed but this really annoyed me tonight. Oh by the way I used to work in Joes in the late 70's and not once treated anyone like that did to me tonight. Rant over !!!

Moved to the area 5 years ago. There are lots of takeaway options locally. When it comes to chippy food there is no better than Joe's.

My partner and I ordered a munchie box from Joe's Fish Bar on Thursday night. I woke up at 5am the next morning with stomach pains and instantly rushed to the toilet where I was sick. My partner got up an hour after and was sick too. I went into work that morning a was in the toilet 5 times within my first hour of work. I was sent home as was my girlfriend. Spewing and Diarrhea constant from Friday to Monday. I have contacted Joes and have had no reply. I will never order from this place again!

Ordered before 8.00 last night was told food would be with us by 8.30 at 9.00 I called back and the lady apologised and said it would be next out with the driver on his return. Arrived just before 9.30 the pizza was missing so I returned the entire order. First and last time I go to Joes

Dreadful fish 9 months ago. Halal meat served but no warning on the website. I don't want any religious prayer on my meat so I'd like to know...

Best Chippy in the area. Go in and enjoy the banter from the happy, friendly staff. Everything fresh and tasty.
