We had a very relaxed meal, it wasnt busy sitting in, only us on a Tuesday night. Food was good and quick service. Toilets were a bit of a trek for my brother who has a disability.

Good food everytime, fast delivery

Frozen shrimp on a bed of uncooked onions...flavorless cuisine but with scents reminiscent of those from the toilet. All served coldly. To avoid.

Both my partner & I were very disappointed with our meals from the Kings Palace tonight. My dish was supposed to be Beef with Green Pepper & Black Bean Sauce & there wasn't a green pepper in sight, only mushrooms, carrot & onion with lots of garlic (which my partner asked to leave out) This dish was tasteless & watery & I couldn't eat much of it. My partner wasn't too fussed with his Chicken Maryland either. We will not be back for a long time if at all.

Absolutely shocking food pre cooked and microwaved All the meat in it is processed ordered house special chow mane No prawns just two shrimp and both pork and chicken was processed food same shape as a tin of corned beef Frozen and warmed up A absolutely disgusting do not use this restaurant toilets and the whole place filfey

Ate in,only one other person there.Served very quickly and efficiently,food was very good,although not many in restaurant,the phone for takeaways never stopped ringing during our time there.

Ordered a takeaway 6th March, food was so fresh and lovely, chicken curry fried rice & my wire ordered chicken ginger & spring onion. With chicken fried rice. Top class, will certainly order next visit to Dunbar.as w stay at Thurston manor several times a year. Up there with the best. Thank you William Richards Dunfermline.

Excellent food and well worth the money

Big cheaters. If you take a menu, it's possible that you never get the desserts but you will pay full price. Don't ever go this place... I visited there twice in same time, first and the last!

The four of us had a meal here on Saturday 14th October, can honestly say it was the best beef satay I have ever tasted, my hubby and friend had chichen szechuan and crispy shredded beef, good portions and good service we would highly recommend this Chinese restaurant.

Battered King prawns in sweet and sour sauce. Horrible, prawns were not king size, they were so tough I couldn't eat them and too much batter to make the prawns look bigger. Nothing special about store bought sauce. Won't go there again.

First time I have eaten in King's and have to say the food was fine. I had salt and chilli chicken and chips which could have been served with some fresh chilli's and bit more kick but was nice and fresh. The service was good also but again the atmosphere could do with a lift.

Me and my family made an order over 75 pounds and they missed out things in the order when they came to deliver the rest of the missing order and trying to charge an extra £10.50 for the things that they missed and not taking the rosponsability for they're own mistakes. Doesn't show looking after your customers or honesty in a business

Absolutely fantastic food every time . Never had a bad meal from this restaurant. Doesn’t always arrive on time but they are busy for a reason. Who cares when it comes you know that decent food is coming your way. Brilliant use them most weeks. No faults. Please use them if you want a wonderful meal 😀😀😃

Had a takeaway from here , both me and my wife had a beef and a prawn chow mein. The prawn was very dry no sauce or taste , the beef was in a very watery gravy but this had absolutely no taste whatsoever. Both meal were very bland and I certainly won't be ordering from here again . Very disappointing.

Came here about 1 hour ago spent a lot of money got food home to say I was disappointed would be a understatement,we are on holiday here we're from Liverpool stay away from this place all sauces spilt in bag food is bland terrible all over

Sweet and sour king prawn Hong Kong style from Kings Palace was disappointing and lacking flavour. The egg fried rice was a bit on the dry side as if it had been sitting some time being kept warm in an oven.

Sometimes it's OK and sometimes it's not

The staff were friendly and polite. The food was ok, I've had better, I've had worse. Decent portion size but each main dish was around £9 to £10 without rice or chips so quite expensive. Not a great review but there's nothing particularly good or bad either way so the review is a bit like the experience..... a bit meh, it's a typical Chinese restaurant in a small town. We've all been to one. It was a fair bit more expensive to eat in than take away.

Just had a takeaway. Very easy to order with efficient staff. Food was ready quickly and great quality.

Recently, Kings Palace has looked more inviting. Sometimes you couldn’t tell if they were open or closed. However, we had a recommendation to ignore first impressions and try the food and we were not disappointed. I like the green pepper chicken and black bean sauce or the chicken Satay on or off the skewers. While my husband is Vegan/Vegetarian and has an extensive choice. Staff are friendly but sometimes you can here an old man shouting in Chinese from the kitchen 😀 I have noticed that there is a possibility to sit in now, that’s new, although they appear to have been a fully functioning restaurant before Covid19 hit. We enjoy the food and are happy to recommend to others. The delivery takes about half an hour.

Very quick service: we ordered our takeaway at the desk and it was ready within 10 minutes. Delicious food, although spicy for some people. Very good value for money.

Phoned for a takeaway - specifically stated no chilli and what arrived? Every dish overly spiced with chillis. Ordered a crispy honey chicken dish was more like a sweet and sour chicken with extra chilli. Singapore noodles too Spicy to be palatable. My granny has stomach problems and the food was inedible for her. Extremely disappointed. Would not recommend and will not be back!!!

1 hour and 20 mins on average for a delivery, that's on a weekday!!!! Ended up having a salad cause I was feeling sick with hunger when it arrived it was cold. Need to employ more delivery drivers

Nice service on the phone. Fast delivery. Shredded beef was lovely. Chicken curry was nice taste but the chicken was as tough as old boots. 🙁

Got a Munchie box,but it was only average at best,look at the size of the pieces of ribs,there was a bag of vegetable spring rolls and a dip along with meal, would go back but wouldn't get Munchie box again.

Polite staff! Went with my fiancé’s family and they helped out with dietary restrictions and recommended some dishes! They provided a very interesting conversation about languages and the gentleman spoke french with me! Very good humoured staff! Very tasty food!

It's ok,am a oldie,and always surprised by prices,and always surprised by ordering meal you don't get prawn drawers with meal,and for over 10 pound I kind of expect free prawn crackers,but staff are excellent,so can't complain to much

Ordered a Beef Chow Mein in the restaurant itself, so not a telephone order, asked to wait 10 minutes so went for a quick walk round the town, Back to the restaurant 10 minutes later and it is ready, quick drive back to the caravan (5 minutes) and it was cold, unbelievably dry and inedible, I think it must have been an order from the day before that wasn't collected and then just warmed up in the microwave. Even the dog ( a Labrador that will eat anything) wasn't particularly interested and I threw 90% in the bin.

Ordered take away but was not up to usual standard. Spring rolls had a filling that tasted slightly burnt and black bean dish was far too spicy, so hot that it was inedible. Never before have had black bean like that. Won’t be returning.

Not as ordered mixed chow mein advertised as with soft noodles and salt pepper chips, received salt pepper chips and beef chow mein with no noodles and understand this is a regular issue with mis heard orders. On top of that it seemed the beef was a little undercooked and was pretty cold when eaten. They also have a surcharge of 50p on orders under £10 and card machine does not accept contactless.

Absolutely bland and lacking flavour. Mushrooms in blackbean sauce.. Tasted like mushrooms in soya sauce water. lemon chicken always over done and tasting chewy with a horrible bland sweet and sour sauce with hints of cardboard. Chilli chips.. Soggy, bland and cold. Sweaty chips 😷 during a pandemic some of us want freshness.. Not the same old generic rubbish most of Dunbar sells in terms of takeaways. You want a good take away.. Chinese or indian.. Travel closer to Edinburgh within East Lothian

Placed an order over phone for collection. Covid 19 measures in place on collection. The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious, would highly recommend!

Got a takeaway from here while on holiday in Dunbar. We were impressed. Had all the food we usually get back home. The food was very tasty. Not greasy and very much like we are used to

Ordered a takeaway from Kings Palace for the first time tonight, definitely wouldn’t order again.The order looked very appetising until I started dishing the rice out found a shard of very hard jaggy plastic (see below)in the rice, which totally put myself and my friends off the whole meal. We phoned the restaurant back was asked to hold 3 times while they got someone to speak to us. We were offered a new rice which we refused as finding an foreign object in your food would put anyone off eating the rest of the food we had ordered. A very pleasant lady called us back who offered us £10 which we refused as after spending £60 we felt it wasn’t suffice. We were then called back by a VERY rude man who told us £10 refund was adequate as we were under charged for the delivery which isn’t our fault, we were then told that the guy we spoke to would personally come back and collect the food then hung the phone up. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!

Lads, the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style is decent but can you go back to the chicken you had before. Not a fan of the crispier chicken, otherwise would be 5 stars. Could you change it back or atleast advertise you changed it. I’ll be back if yous change it back.

Ordered a delivery to Thurston Manor and it arrived within 40 mins. Food was tasty and warm, generous portions too.

We were on the Dunbar camping and caravan club site and were given a menu for this chinese restaurant/take away as part of our introduction. From ringing our order in to eating was 40 minutes with the food being delivered to reception by a lovely guy called Richard who rang to say he was setting off from the restaurant and would be about 8 minutes. This gave me time to walk up and meet him...great communication! The food was excellent, the wanton were crispy and the mixed meat curry was meaty and full of flavour. All in all a really nice meal...thanks

we go to the kings palace on a regular basis with a choice of thai or chinese highly recommend the chilli salted quid and the spicy thai hot soup ingrediants are fresh and staff are very helpful

Hands down the worst Chinese meal I’ve ever had in my life. £27.40 of utter bland, greasy, disgusting scran. Szechuan Beef was like a Bisto beef casserole. The Kung Po king prawn tasted like flowers and consisted of 5 prawns floating in a pool of soggy carrots and bamboo slices. Both the fried and boiled rice were soggy and congealed into one rectangular shaped block. The dog (understandably) refused the Spare Ribs.

We really enjoyed our meal, the soups we ordered were really good and all of the mains were really tasty, good portion size too. The bill was very reasonable I would definitely visit again

Amazing staff food to high standard

We bought 2 chicken curries from here on Sunday night .so watery .Worst Chinese I have ever had in my life .I know some places don't always get it right but when I complained they weren't interested .£13 95 .take away would have been as well flushing my money down the toilet .Never again will we spend or money in this restaurant .manager could not even bother coming on the phone .very ignorant .

Fresh Chinese food. The best I've had for a while

My partner and I had a wee walk in Dunbar on Saturday and instead of going back to where we were staying and cooking we decided to pop in here and treat ourselves as per usual the food was outstanding as well as the prices and service it was a take away and by the time we got back to our static it was still pipping hot ,,,,,,we will be back very soon.Fiona and Gary King from East Calder xx

The staff were accomadating and quite friendly but what I found was the hot and sour soup could have been better, my main course was nice though.

The food was nice, and the staff really pleasant and friendly. I wish the corridor leading to the restrooms wasn't as slippery, although they've put a few carpets down to make it easier.

We have eaten here several times and also had some carry outs. The sitting area is quiet, being separated from the carry-out area by a screen.There is also a balcony with tables although we haven't bee up there yet. Great variety of delicious food and very friendly and efficient staff.

Good fresh meal and pleasant service

They were very helpful in advising what I can / can't eat with my food allergies (dairy and egg). As I was camping and the weather was cold, I wanted to warm up and charge my phone, it as a bonus that I could easily do that as there are sockets by the tables (and it was nice and warm inside). It seems the locals love this place and the staff was very friendly and welcoming with everyone. I highly recommend a visit! The restaurant is located on the high street, very close to the two museums (due to opening hours, it is a nice way to end your day - they are open every day!) the portions are very generous, great value for money (drinks, even alcohol can be purchased, too)

Waited an eternity for it to arrive and there was nothing out of £41 worth of food that was good. Really disappointing, a waste of money and we’re all still hungry. Never again.

Sit in or take away also deliver, excellent Chinese grub highly recommended.

Very nice ambience. Staff were very pleasant. Food was great and good value.

Me and my friends got a munchie box for £18 including delivery and it was awful, tiny in comparison to the oriental inns. Next to no meat on the ribs, a few crumbly chips, tasteless chicken, wouldn’t even feed one person. Usually get the oriental inn which is a huge box filled with delicious hot food and a great variety, was very disappointed considering the price of this.

Now visited a few times since moving to Dunbar and becoming a firm favourite. Chinese food was never usually our first choice as we always found it to be hit or miss buy Kings Palace is a definite hit!

Superb, in every way we cannot wait to visit again, the food is out of this world the taste and the amount that is on the plate to be honest we booked a week in dunbar for 1019, and the main reason was to eat every day in this restaurant and thats the honest truth.!

Good food and friendly staff, me and dougal ordered sweet and sour chicken, salt and chilli chips, crispy duck and banana fritters. Turns out I can win after all and had a good feed and will be back next time we are in the area

Popped in with our teen-agers for a meal after swimming. Tasty food, quick service and very reasonable price. I don't like Chinese food much as a rule but the family do and l have e to say l enjoyed it. We feel the previous review is harsh.

One of the rude staff I ever met in my life. I gave a collection order on phone but he didn’t pass my order to the chef because he affraid I might not pay him. When I asked him did he put everything what I ordered and his reply was very rude. Very bad experience.

My wife and I began a week’s holiday in Dunbar by arriving in the early evening after an afternoon concert during the Lammermuir Festival, on the day Storm Ali swept across the UK. We wanted to eat straight away – I’d read reviews of the various Dunbar takeaways, and found the Kings Palace reviews among the most positive, so that’s where we went.

The quality of the food here is top notch.. I feel I could quite easily work my way through the menu and love every dish.. the Beef Chow Mein is particularly yummy and portion sizes are generous. Staff are really friendly too.

Food is good though had a bit of a wait even though only ones in.

Lovely fresh aromatic food. Up there with one of the best Chinese meals i'v had. Great authentic feel to the place. The type of place that reminds you of your first great Chinese meal you had years back when there was competition as many were this good! Unfortunately I feel that most have just gave up trying these days though. Yep we will be back for the professional friendly service and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I love good Chinese. The food at Kings Palace is outstanding. Always hot and super tasty. Really great friendly staff and excellent service every time. Went there several times dined in also used take out. Always super. Loved the place and the people.

We ate here as it was about the only place serving food in the area, but we weren't disappointed. The food here was good and the portion sizes much larger than I expected. I thought the pricing was about right for the large portions and location of the restaurant. The drinks were a bit expensive though. 3 adults ate and drank for £65.

Had a carryout food was good portions were plenty price was reasonable.
