The best restaurants in East Lothian Edinburgh and Lothian

The food has improved from what it was years ago. However, grumpy staff. Still our preferred chippy in the area. No delivery.

I’ve been eating from dragon way since I was a kid best Chinese I’ve ever tried we order from them at least once a week and always get a massive order for Christmas couldn’t be more pleased About to make an order now 😉

WOW. Popped in today and was greeted by a polite young, gentleman who knows how to treat customers, Lentil Soup and a cheese baguette which were delicious, and freshly cooked Definitely Restaurants Quality Food and a reasonable priced. Well done 100% Highly recommend Thank 🙇 👍👍

Lovely food and spectacular location

ordered a pizza three days ago and still waiting on it being delivered. Phoned numerous times and was told it was on the way. Gave up after 2hrs and called Dominoes, they delivered within 30mins. (Edit: it has now been over a year and still waiting on delivery)

Stopped here for a quick lunch. Staff were very friendly and service quick. It’s a nice pub with a decent amount of character. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced.

My oldest daughter saw this on her social media and said it’s a must see. So we gave it a go. We decided to order a takeaway from the shack because the indoor seating was limited and basically full. Huge queue (which means it’s worth the wait). Super organised queuing/ order system so wasn’t a long wait. Very fast service for something that looked great and in the end tasted out of this world. Quality ingredients. Everyone thought their meal was amazing. Got to eat our meal on a bench looking out to the beaches and sea so that was amazing. Super happy family, so that makes me a happy dad. Great idea, great concept, success was very much achieved here.

Excellent coffee ground and prepared by folk who clearly know their beans. Quirky stylish interior and courtyard outside area. Great snacks.

We visited here as we were staying at the Hydro. We were able to book a table online, same day for the Friday night. Staff were attentive & very pleasant. Service was fab & drinks/food arrived quick. Food tasted amazing and generous portions. There was a seperate kids menu for those under12, this had choices such as korma, chaat, mac & cheese, pakora & chips. If we are every staying local again we would absolutely come back! Thankyou.

The cafe was lovely but I'd like to particularly say thank you to the garden centre staff who were all lovely and very helpful (and my dog is fine:) )

I stayed here for 4 nights and it was brilliant the rooms were absolutely perfect my stay and the bar was a brilliant atmosphere, the highlight however was the food in the bar it was absolutely incredible and the chefs are an absolute credit to bar/hotel

From arrival to departure everything was perfect. Staff are so friendly and attentive,even if the cocktail that you want isn't on the list the barman will make it up for you. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was extra comfy. Breakfast was first class. All in all, absolutely faultless and would have no hesitation in recommending. Oh and "Friday is the night" for great crack in the bar, can't wait to return. 👍

A last minute trip to East Lothian resulted in us finding this lovely pub/bistro/hotel. A traditional venue from the outside with a bar the locals can drink at and a restating side for a more formal sit down meal. We had one night here and would highly recommend the friendliness of everyone we encountered. The evening meal was stunning with generous portions. I had Scampi that was delicious. The jewel in the crown was definitely breakfast. The fact it was hot and not tepid like some places. A really enjoyable stay and we will return when in this area.

Large cafe with good brunch menu. Plenty parking. Quick counter service. Nice stop after the nearby Lochend Woods Park Run.

Delicious gelato with some amazing flavours, between us we tried the lemon meringue, pistachio, chocolate, mango, vanilla and Nutella. All of them were absolutely delicious can’t wait to go back.
