Adriano's in East Lothian

After having used this Fish shop for the last 5 years, at least 5 times a year when we come to Scotland in our Camper, we have always looked upon the experience a one of the treats of our trip...that was until after Christmas. The batter on the fish was thicker than the actual fish and the portion of chips seemed to have shrunk by about 30%, a real disappointment to the outing end. We will try again in the Springtime, I only hope there'll be a marked improvement.

Worst chip shop ever, you can stand at the counter and wait for 10 minutes and don't get served, online and pre orders have killed the chipshop, they have to take on more staff plain and simple to deal with off the street customers, a chipshop these days is more like a Chinese restaurant or Indian restaurant, shut the doors and open a hatch. Because that's the service the provide, wrong!!! And should be barred for having a food serving license.

GF Pizza takeaway, 12 inch was just the best pizza ever. Crust was not too well done and was super hot to the last piece. Thank you - we'll be back for sure.

Meal not enjoyable Fish fried out , chips soggy , unpleasant after taste . Eaten within 2 mins of purchase . Disappointing for anybody not least visitors Service was very quick . Sadly meal not enjoyed .

Ordered on line and collected on time. Place was going like a fair so they must be doing something right. Fish and chips pretty good.

My first fish and last states fresh fish as ex trawlerman if that was fresh I wouldnt like to try the older fish batter looked Crispy till you opened the fish up to much floor fish dark Didnt sell mushy peas didnt try the chips ate only 2 pieces of fish .but the shop smelled clean staff well presented

Very nice fish and chips - huge portions. Short walk to the cliff top bench to eat them overlooking the sea.

Having had their excellent fish and chips many times, we decided to try their pizzas. They were excellent, very hot, well cooked with generous toppings. Better and cheaper than a specialist pizza restaurant just down the road from them. Will definitely be back. Thanks guys.

Very busy fish and chip shop offering freshly cooked take away food including pizza (and gluten free pizza). Lovely fish and big portions as 2 fish included in the supper, single fish suppers are also available. As the take away was busy there was about a 20 minute wait but that meant we got freshly fried food. The fish was great and hot, the only down was that the chips could have been cooked a little longer. They also sell S Luca ice cream which is just lovely

Excellent service, value and friendly staff

Fine but nothing to shout home about, if this is the best fish and chips around here I feel sorry for everyone. The fish was more soggy, pale batter than actual fish (Less than 1cm thick at the thickest point). Chip portions were a joke, a large bag of chips didn't feed 3 of us (1 of us being a toddler). Don't sell peas, don't sell gravy (I know this isn't custom around these parts but I had hoped for at least one). Walked in to order, and although food was ready within 10 minutes, nobody even acknowledged me being there for the first 5 minutes even though the shop had only 2 people already stood waiting for their food. Filled a hole but I won't be returning.

Called in on a Friday night for a fish supper. Queue out the door (which is a good sign!) but the staff were working like machines to get everybody their orders as fast as possible. I was so impressed with the pace that everyone was working at and all whilst being so friendly and happy with the customers. I said that they must be the hardest working team of people in Dunbar. Fab chippy— I could even overlook that they don’t do mushy peas!!

Am a customer that comes when in the area they closed for a refurbished now open the over chips now empty do I have to say any more

It seems to be impossible to get a really fresh fish in Dunbar takeaways. The food here is OK. The staff are lovely. Pity the fish was not fresh, and overcooked, or both. I would rather pay for one really fresh fish than get two average fish in one meal.

Huge portions, extremely quick service with a smile and absolutely delicious fish and chips. Had to dock a star though as they don't sell mushy peas - a must with fish and chips ! Sorry 😞

What an amazing Chippy takeaway. The donor kebab was delicious, Haddock battered and cooked to perfection says the Mum and the wife (2 people there). What hearty pizzas as well. Thank you for a wonderful meal

By far the best chippy for miles. High quality, non-greasy food. Fish and things like scampi are crisp yet moist, absolutely delicious. Their pizzas are excellent too. Even the curry sauce is well made. The staff are always efficient and organised, even when the shop is mobbed so customers are served quickly and not forgotten about.

We love our local Italian chip shop. Always value for money, tastes amazing and the best chippy in East Lothian in our opinion.

I have now had a takeaway from here on two separate occasions and both times has been excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. The premises are clean and tidy. I will definitely be eating food from here again.

Great chicken kebab! Lots of succulent and tender chicken that has a great flavour! The salad was fresh and very tasty. My partner’s pizza looks great too and he really enjoyed it!

Adrianos is my first choice when it comes to getting my fish supper. Always friendly and welcoming. Food is always as fresh as you can get it.

The fried pizza is amazing 🤩 I’ve never eaten something like this before! The same goes with the pizza crunch (we came back for that just after having tried the fried pizza 😅). Definitely recommended. Super friendly staff as well.

Absolutely excellent fish and chip supper 👍 the best I’ve tasted in years. Freshly cooked fish and chips with light crispy batter on the fish - Delicious 😋 Also excellent value for money. I wish I lived nearer as would be a regular customer. Only in Dunbar for 3 nights but I know where I’m having my tea from tonight!

Situated in High Street in Dunbar, we stopped off for fish and chips. We weren't disappointed, the chips were freshly made as was the fish. Its always a good sign when there is a queue outside. Prices were reasonable

Friendly, courteous , efficient staff, serving fresh tasty produce . The shop is conveniently located on Dunbar High St. It is spotlessly clean and there are parking spaces in front of the door . As well as the expected food from a fish and chip shop, Adriano’s make nice Pizza, Pakora and kebab meat with salad . They have other dishes so check out their website. I often buy Luca’s ice cream for dessert and they have a range of soft drinks . My only suggestion would be to make the fish batter a wee bit crispier by turning the temperature of the fryer up a tiny bit. Other than that, I can 100% recommend Adriano’s. Ps. Shut on a Monday

It was quite busy when I went and the queuing system didn't seem to be that clear or to make sense.

Stopped in for dinner and got to the till to find a sign saying minimum spend £6 for card payments! Not visible from ordering point when busy. Staff quite happy to upsell stuff I don't want like juice. There is nothing stopping them taking these payments... I was told buy extras to make up the money or leave! Ignorant staff to say the least. By the way Adriano's... it is a breach of card payment service providers to impose a minimum spend. Perhaps you should read the contract you signed!

Best chippy in Dunbar. Fish supper is very generous (two fish), kids love the chicken nugget box, service is quick and friendly, and it's always tasty.

Best fish and chips I’ve had in years! Crispy, freshly fried fish, worth the wait to have it freshly cooked, and delicious! Will definitely be a regular visitor here.

Staying at a friends and we have sampled the local cuisine this week. We went to Adrianos on Wednesday and I must say, it’s a busy place and the reason you’ll wait is because everything is fried fresh to order and boy is it worth waiting for! There’s a buzz omitted from behind the counter, with pizza bases being made traditionally, throwing and spinning in the air, the fryer battering and frying with perfect timing and the lead girl orchestrating everything from taking the orders to getting them salt and vinegar, wrapped and out with perfect precision. The fish and chips were delicious, can’t fault the crispy batter and meaty moist fish that awaits inside. The chips fluffy in the middle with a nicely fried outer. We’ll be back for more, even to try the pizza !!

Had a fish supper for my 1st night in Dunbar. Place seems to serve a very wide range of different food, but I went trad. As befitting my age had the seniors (pensioners) portion which was plenty big enough for me. The regular fish seems to comprise 2 smaller pieces of fish - unusual. No mushy peas - am I in the wrong part of the UK? Perfectly fine.

PLEASE BEWARE We each had fish and chips, the fish was so full of bones we couldn't eat it, considering the price of fish now, we would expect to be able to enjoy it. I dread to think what could have happened if one of our fish had been given to a child. The soggy mess in the photos are half chewed bones as well as the ones found before chewing.

Worst chips ever. Most were undercooked. Strangely tasteless. Greasy. Staff as far as I've seen are rude. Anyone who eats here needs help.

Great fish&chips after a long walk on the beach. My only negative note would be about a styrofoam to-go tray that should be a cardboard box, but that has nothing to do with taste and service. I do recommend.

Ok so it’s a fish and chip shop! Do they know what haddock is? But it tasted good. Doors during Covid confusing where is in and where is out? But most importantly it would be lovely if the staff could engage and laugh a bit! It would make the little things count. Food tasted great if you have read this far!

Had a takeaway with a fish supper, Haddock and chips and a burger. The haddock and chips were excellent, the burger was ok but not very meaty. Would definitely go again as very popular. Great friendly staff and excellent value for money.

It was a long wait, but the place was busy and staff as well as customers were masked, the pizza was huge and I must comment the good manners of the customers even a cat queuing up patiently. We were on holiday so not local, food was OK nothing out of the ordinary.

Nice hot freshly cooked fish and chips. Lovely crispy batter, and not too greasy. White pudding okay, but not freshly cooked like the fish and chips. Would certainly buy from here again next time we're in Dunbar.

Been here a few times, the service is fast and efficient. I like the veggie Calzone, as a big guy that can eat a lot, it can be a struggle as its filling and stuffed with veg and flavour. Never had a bad service or a duff takeaway meal.

Popped into this take away (well, joined the queue) as it served fish and chips (Mum and Dad's choice) and pizza (kid's choice). Pizzas good, if not brilliant, but fish and chips superb. Absolutely huge portion of lightly battered fish and about a gallon of curry sauce! Could easily have shared one portion between two - great value.

On a two day trip to Dunbar in May we passed this chippie and were told by a nice local couple it was worth a try. It sure was! Spotlessly clean and nice staff. Takeaway only and a small queue to wait in. Truly delicious fish and chips and a great sized portion. Plenty of benches to sit on and eat it or the nearby harbour too. We are connoisseurs of fish teas and this fish supper was one of the best!

The battered fish was dry . The chips were nothing special . I was very disappointed aa there was a very big que to be served . Which took 30 minutes I'm afraid I will definitely not be back .
