Mario's Pizza And Kebab House in East Lothian

This place used to be the best in Musselburgh, but the last 3 times that I get food from here it was disappointing. Yesterday I ordered a large kebab and what I get wasn’t large at all. The pitta bread was dry like very old and broken and even so they serve it.

Normally happy with order but tonight’s keebab meat was not fresh as it normally is! Wasnt strands of keebab meat it was tiny wee bits from the bottom of the metal container!

Really disappointed with food today, it was too cold all of the dishes and it didn't taste like previous orders! There was two missing sauces.The previous order there was missing chips.

Frozen chips from supermarket poor quality overpriced large portion looks like small in other places. Never again! Shocking!!! Avoid

Got a takeaway kebab here last week. Good quality. Delivery driver a tad impatient between 2 Bell rings though we are in a town house. No rapport though

My wife Just called for a large kebab and a small one. Got quoted £24.95 when asked if this was correct she got abuse about how much she should be able to afford. We were only getting a kebab as the pizzas were too doughy and lacked toppings. Won’t be back. Better and cheaper at jazzes

Always use Marios. Have done for ever. Food order was shashlik and a pizza. Pizza base was clearly pre purchased base. No way freshly made. Flat and cardboard. Very disappointed. Marios is going downhill.

Great Donner kebab & quick service

ordered a pizza three days ago and still waiting on it being delivered. Phoned numerous times and was told it was on the way. Gave up after 2hrs and called Dominoes, they delivered within 30mins.

Absolutely disgusting food for the price these are charging it’s shocking pizza was fin as paper, chips wer half cooked and covered in some sort of light brown sauce not gravy rotton all come luke warm once and once only will I ever think of ordering from here keep my English pounds il never order again shocking food

We ordered a takeaway. Wrong order arrived. When phoned, told it was the right order. When asked where our chips were, they insisted I was lying and that they had put them in the order! No chips ever arrived despite paying for them. Food looked horrendous! Staff were completely uninterested when phoned to complain. Extremely poor service.

Just had a delivery. Hair in the pizza. Rang up and complained, they said they would replace the pizza.then 5 minutes after rang back and asked me to come down with the hair,not going to say what I said.not again.

Had a doner kebab this evening. Strange meat which looked very pink and had no taste? Very strange. Won't try again.

Known about this place when I used to live in Edinburgh 11 years ago. Whenever i come back for a visit I come here for a kebab They are pricey, £10 for a doner kebab. But I'm used to Bradford prices. But the doner is home made and you can taste the meat. Not just the fat and spices.

i tried to run away with the pizza i grabbed over the counter without paying but when i ran towards the door the pizza fell out the box causing me to step onto it and fall into a box of chips. the worker went ahsghaggsh onto the chips

Never buying from this place again, they have the audacity to raise the prices & decline the quality of the food. I used to be regular before the new management took over which I may add are all incompetent staff & i’m not sure if they should be allowed to work around food to be honest. Third time I ordered a small doner in shop & was asked what I want on it, which I clearly & politely replied, the guy always looks at you with a dirty look like you’re in the wrong, clearly hasn’t learned manners or customer service. I get home to find no salad sauce, no chili & still a lemon amongst all the salad. This has happened to me, my parents & a friend who all used to buy from there! They won’t & don’t deserve another penny. I recommend steering clear from this place & finding yourself a cheaper, better alternative.

Nothing wrong about food, typical take away. As others pointed out - a bit pricey for what it is, but most of all, unpleasant and cocky staff.

Pretty terrible customer service been a customer for years and tonight I was told they don’t deliver to my address, even after I explained I’ve ordered from them many times they weren’t fussed. Not sure if it’s a change of staff but going from recent reviews it’s a shame to see the place decline like this.

Would not order food from here if it was the last place on earth, nasty hard meat over fried or old vegetable and one small salad box for an order over £70.00 also 2 small garlic dips for 7 meals asked for 2 more was told £1 each what a joke when I told him we have bought more than 2 meals then he said ok you can have it what a load of nonsense, ordered a calzone, king kebab rubbish chicken was hard lamb was out of date cold pitta bread service in a small container should change the name to bog kebab that is what it looked liked no flavours what so ever , the staff were so loud and just not impressed with the food at all no one has food quality.

Called for delivery and the man on the phone was very rude and abrupt and aggressive got the order wrong when called back he started arguing with me about my order telling me I asked for something I didn't customer service was shocking he couldn't careless and just said we are busy and hung up on me never will be back

I visited this place on sunday asked for cheese and doner. They forgot to add cheese. Plus the young guy there needs to learn customer service seemed aggressive. No please thankyou just £18 poynds plus prices are high comoared to the turkush takeaway in portobello.

Horrible experience told them my address said that was okay then gave my order and at the end of the ordeal they refused delivery will not be coming back

Yesterday I ordered an anchovie, black olive and green pepper pizza to go and it was very well made. Not too greasy and the service was very courteous. Will certainly order again.

I have been a customer of Marios for over 25yes. Sadly after how I was treated not anymore. Totally shameful! I ordered a delivery Saturday evening, I called when it was over an hour. The girl said it was on its way. These things happen. However, much to my dismay it was well below the standard usually delivered. The meat was tough, burnt, in unpalatable chunks-yuk! I called back to explain & the girl said they’d send another ASAP. I Re wrapped the kebab, ready to hand back. This was refused. I then to my dismay opened the box to find a huge clump of meat. Much like what I had just complained about. I went about emptying the old kebab to put he new meat in. The pitta was now cold & hard! The salad was wet also, a big pile of water had congealed in the salad box. Disgusted I tried a few pieces & binned the whole lot. I was too disappointed to call back again on Saturday to ruin my night further. I called when they opened this evening & explained and asked for a refund. The girl said that she would have to call her dad the owner because I didn’t call again on Saturday!!! Ffs! So I said nicely I also had pictures to prove everything I had said, & after 25 yrs I’m not the type of customer to lie! The girl called me back & confirmed I wouldn’t get my money back because I hadn’t called on the night. To be fair I was so fed up & my disabled son was itching to watch The Voice final I didn’t want my night ruined further! Totally shocking way to treat a good customer with a legitimate complaint! I said I was shocked & unhappy at how I was treated & they had just lost a very good customer! Spend your money elsewhere!

Always delighted with food and quick service from Mario's and tonight was no different. Shaslik lamb and chicken kebabs superb. Meat tender and delicious, salad so crispy and fresh. Delicious! Highly recommended. The Douglases, Whitecraig.

Hi, there is a reason for 4 star .No doubt service is good food is good but hygiene problem .I have got pizza other day .A guy works on the front useing spitt to open the bag and doing this again and agin .Specially in the situation where covid-19 is every where and we should be more careful ,a guy at food shop doing this not acceptable .Do not use the spitt to open the bag should use sponge .come on this is food shop .Never again I am not going to this shop again .

Everyone there is friendly but not at the expense of getting the food going.It's all a bit different during Covid but still they have time for regulars, will chat with visitors if judged appropriate during the wait and still get things done.I have never had an issue with the quality of the food but have not tried the pizzas.Best Kebab shop since I stopped working at Gorgie Road (now Els House) and went to the one near there. Wasn't living in musselburgh then.

My partner and I have just thoroughly enjoyed 2 Shaslik kebabs. One chicken, one lamb, both were delicious. Meat tender and tasty, salad really crisp and fresh, dressings yummy and pitta bread lovely. Delivered super fast too by a friendly,pleasant driver. Always a most satisfying service from Marios. Can't recommend the shaslik kebabs highly enough. *****

Home made (Really home made) Pizza, Kebabs..

My boyfriend ordered a chicken pakora pizza, cheese pizza and chips & cheese which was came before expected and the pizzas were great, the only downfall however was the chips and cheese came with sauce and salt which we never said on the order. The pizza’s were for my boyfriend and my mum however the chips and cheese were for myself as i have a gluten intolerance. my boyfriend, my mum and myself do not like chippy sauce and so that was £3.50 wasted and has now left myself hungry for the night. i understand mistakes happen but please make sure to read the orders correctly.

Like 1990 Pizza Hut. Eating this droopy cheese crispy pepperoni feast was like being transported back in time to my 6th birthday party. It tasted like a ninja turtle action figure and the excitement of an upcoming sleepover.

Up from Newcastle upon Tyne Staying in newcraighall premier inn ..googled local take aways and luckily came across marios ...ordered a mixed kebab and a kebab meat and chips the food was ready quick and tasted amazing ...would highly recommend Mario's to anyone ...

The owner was very friendly. Forget Dominos down the road. This is ten times better and cheaper. Standard of food is high. Would my family return to this shop - Yes. Such great choice.

Best chicken pakora in Edinburgh

Not sure if this is a regular occurrence or not but I visited after 11pm and was overcharged. It’s not about how much but how often they are doing this this, which is a concern. Could it be they think people are a bit worse for ware at that time to notice. It did seem to me odd that they couldn’t know the cost of what I ordered which would be a regular order and also the member of staff has been there a long time. I know I won’t likely be back.
